  1. ok ako sa jam kaso konti pa lang ang natutugtog ko hehehehehe. pure jamming lang siguro, wala pa yata ako alam na buong song na i-cover.

let me know kung magmaterialize sama ako :)

  2. :) balitaan mo kami bro pag pinagawa mo na :)

..nagpunta ako sa kanya kahapon to have a few things on my guitar looked at.

Sobrang lasing, nabagsak ko recently yung '64 Epiphone Les Paul ko after winning a competition, and medyo nadagdagan 'yung tama, and ayoko nakikita yung "katangahan" ko, gusto ko i pa re-finish palitan  'yung pick-up ring (that's what he called it, but when i got there

he got me convinced na okay pa yung gitara ko. He can make you feel good, di pa nya

ginagawa gitara mo happy ka na, and happy rin ako sa quote nya sa price just in case i decided to get on with it,  but it's not about the money, he advised me to invest on it's electronics

instead. Pero 'pag di ako nakatiis ibabalik ko guitar ko dun.. eye sore talaga yung tama eh.

  3. it depends on your style sir, at kung anong particular skill ang gusto mo i-develop. currently i'm into rusty cooley's extreme pentatonics and shred guitar manifesto. anyone who wants instructional vids, just PM me and i'll see what i can do to provide assistance.

has anyone tried any instructional videos? if so, which video will you recommend? i just got some instructional video from shwan lane P100 lang nabili ko sa isang tiangge sa bf paranaque...di ko lang alam yun name nung place.

  4. he is really good, sir. master arie na nga tawag ko sa kanya eh hehehehehe. actually i was expecting na yung shaving lang ang gagawin nya kasi yun lang naman yung main concern ko though napagusapan namin about action and intonation setup plus string buzz. pagbalik ng guitar sa kin, nakasetup na sya to its maximum playing potential.

Ari is very good as he was actually technically trained not just in guitar building mechanics but also with the proper tooling. Ang dami lang clients ni Ari that's why it's takes some time to get a customization done. Plus maraming gamit ni Ari galing pa Stewart McDonald's sa States.

Pag simple lang trabaho, sandali lang. Sigurado na ako na malupit yang pinak custom mo sa kanya! =)

    Regards!

  5. finally the long wait is over, picked up my axe from the master luthier yesterday. boy, i was damed speechless when i got a hold of it.

-the neck access was just perfect. naliligaw nga ako minsan sa neck kasi yung dating cut nya sobrang kapal pero ngayon hangang 24 fret spacious pa rin.

-super baba ng action - more than i thought possible

    -ang galing ng fret leveling

    more than a satisfied patient...

  6. it's nice to hear these stories sir, somehow inspired me more to pursue my project. hopefully i could come out with some kind of an erruption afterwards ahhahahahah. in my dreams

Several famous guitars that started out as experiments were Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstein guitar and Nuno Bettencourts axe. Nuno had his guiatar's body and neck  ( a Strat copy ) shaved as well.

    Heheh! Rock on!

  7. currently i'm working on my RJ Ibañez copy. hirap nga lang maghanap ng pickups for 7-string kasi i have to order them on the net pa. hinihintay ko pa perfect pitch kasi by january daw they'll be having some EVO 7.

as for the scheduled modifications, i'll have my guitar's neck and body shaved to make the higher frets more accesible, tapos refinishing na rin afterwards. i hope it will come out good.

IMO mas practical kasi gawing "lab rat" yung murang guitars as long as they are made of good wood. you'll never know, the quest for the holy grail of tones might end with the finished modified guitar :)

    Hi There! :)

What guitar are you modifying now? Anong modifications?

Just like you, I also am into modifcations on a stock guitar. Usually, pick up replacements, pick guard replacements, change Tuning heads, roller nuts for me on a Stratocaster are what I do.

    Cheers!

  8. precisely mr. 16track!, aside from the fact that they are really, really expensive, i'm not into the idea of being know as a guitarist who plays somebody else's signature guitar. perhaps it's pride... but i'd rather customize a stock model - which i am doing right now - and be remembered as the "not-so-good-guitarist" with his own cool guitar.

and indeed, playing a jem series won't make me play like Steve Vai.

kung filthy rich ka siguro, it's ok for collection purposes. i don't know kasi i'm not in that status ahihihihihihi
