there's always a room for improvement for every design.. that's why we have aftermarket tuners, even car companies have their own tuning dep't.. making better intakes, better exhaust, etc.. each part designed for a purpose, whether street, race, turbo, NA, etc..

stock exhaust system is more on street use.. lolo na un headers desinged for good back pressure for low end.. maluwag na exhaust would definitely give you more performance pero that's on higher rev, kung masyadong maluwag naman mababawasan ka ng low end. a good 4-2-1 headers then slightly bigger exhaust would give you a reasonable performance considering ok pa din pang everyday.. so no matter 2 exhaust o 4 exhaust, e depende na yan sa size kung tama ba computation.. pero based on my experience, an exhaust system na 4-2-1 might good for the street, low-mid and onteng high range performance, iba pa din ang 4-1 headers free flow exhaust sa high rpm.. ung 4-2-1 ko only good up to 6500rpm, then there's no more increase in power, nasasakal na.. pero i've seen cars with similar setup tuloy pa din increase ng hatak up to 7000+rpm.. up to 8500rpm pa nga ok pa din.. so i guess i'd go for 4-1 nlng, no worries sa low end since bawi naman ng shorter gear ratio ko ang torque sa low end..

also tried in my stock tamaraw fx to remove the exhaust pipe, so natitira lang stock headers, malaking increase in performance, and laki din tinipid sa gas (laki din ng ingay), from 5.5km/L naging 7.5-8km/L city driving, may mga hataw2 pa un dahil ganda ng tunog pag high rpm ng headers lng.. kkaiba

proved that factory settings are not always the best option.. with a simple change lng sa exhaust system, ang 7k ng fx could definitely have more power and still have better fuel economy..

I'm posting this as a total ignoramus when it comes to guns and shooting. Please bear with me.

 

For the longest time, I've been thinking of trying practical shooting, but I really don't know anyone who can give me pointers. Anyway, I got a few questions:

 

- What gun can you recommend for first-time users like me? Take into consideration that I'm a woman and some of the guns that you boys are using might be too heavy for me.

 

- Is it safe for a woman to get into this thing? Obviously, almost all of the posts here are from males.

 

- I live in Manila. Can you recommend any firing ranges in the area where I can practice shooting?

for first timer girls, I suggest go for a .22 pistol.. There's a cute pink walter p22 for around 15K sa gun show.. very little recoil, parang wala na nga recoil sa hina, small, very accurate and cheap ammo, around P160-P170 per 50rds box.. compared that sa usual P9 fmj reload lng ng 9mm shells.. hindi pa maingay.. ok din bang carry since it's really compact with 10rds per magzn.. gusto ko din kuha non e.. pero I'm currently looking for a gunsmith to convert my 1911 std frame to hi-cap frame, or cheap frame kahit used basta ok performance.. Does anyone here has an idea how much ang hicap aluminum frame sa armscor for 1911 9mm?

Bihira na lang kasi ang pwede sa engine swap ngayon. Sa <2000 year model na mga oto, pwede pa.

Engine swap gets you a car with 85% reliability and is fairly simple with much of the Jap cars yr 2000 and below. I believe the last of the dying breed is the SiR.

Last year, I put in a turbo and intercooler for my Vti. I had it all taken out last week... :cry:..after going through 2 engines and 3 ball bearing turbos.

For those who, like myself, can't leave their cars well alone, either go bolt-on mods all the way or go for that engine swap...turbo and all.

That way, your ride will still be reliable.

Bolting on a turbo kit with stock internals not designed for turbo is not a good idea, ok lang pag low boost, I don't think stock internals would last that long when prolonged exposure to hi boost.. turbo is the easiest way to get more power, pero from a stock NA engine to turbo, i suggest engine swap nalang na nakaturbo na.. I've heard before that a few SiR with stock internals had a bolt-on turbo kit installed on it, got lots power but the pistons didn't last that long, so eventually had to changed to a low comp forged pistons which costs $600-800 per set.. for the cost of the turbo kit, ecu, tuning, parts, etc.. I think mas practical talaga engine swap since you can find good condition 2.0L turbocharged engines for as low as 40k, make sure na wlang short cut ung kabit.. mahirap na.. turbo is the best way for more power and and specially torque.. but for FF cars masprefer ko pa din NA over turbo..

I own a sam trooper 1911 9mm na short 3.5" barrel.. its a cheap gun pero not bad, accurate naman and lesser recoil due to its steel frame and addt'l custom stabilizer with mercury.. not sure how big is the difference between sa stabilizer na my mercury at sa wala since di ko ntry gamitn ng plain stabilizer lang, nahirapan kasi ako humanap kaya ngpasadya nlng..

may outdoor range ba somewhere near araneta-quezon ave area? i'm currently shooting sa armscor makati, kaya lang medyo nalalayuan na ako..

pwede din ba un stock na steel frame iconvert sa hi-cap frame o kelangan tlg palit buong frame?
