    Give me Candidate A anytime and twice on Sundays....By the way, Candidate A is Robin Padilla, Candidate B is Chel Diokno.

  2. Where is the best place in Ongpin where you can get this "churros" kind of fried bread that they dip in sugar? I get to buy it in this place near St. Stephen's but it's not hot anymore.

    You must mean Bitso-bitso in Ha Yuan right? There's also a place in Ongpin cor. Alonzo where they sell this early in the morning. And I think, though it's been a while since I've been to this area early in the morning, but last time I checked, just walking through Ongpin you'd spot a few stalls selling them. Then I'd go to Lido for their Coffee! Bitso bitso and coffee... simple yet so enjoyable hehe... saka since breakfast na yan, asado na din! :thumbsupsmiley:

  3. There's this place in Carvajal that serves the best oyster cake IMO around the Ongpin area. The price is a bit lower compared to President I think. The name of the establishment I can't remember though hehehe... but it's quite popular.

    Quick snack siguro yung sinasabi mo... sarap nga dun... ako favorite ko rin yung Lido Restaurant... arguably the best asado, lalo na pagbagong luto sa umaga, kasabay ng coffee... wow!

  4. I agree.. trully inspiring... It's beauty is in its simplicity, like the Little Prince... I've been contemplating for maybe 2 or 3 years now bout the lesson I learned from this book... so far, la pa rin hehe... any life changing experience from anybody? :)

  5. Lord of the Rings came pretty close, especially if you remember the first two attempts at a movie. On the other hand I don't think it is possible to catch the humor of Douglas Adam's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy if this was to be made into a movie.

    This was actually made into a movie, bout a year or two ago... ok naman humor--although syempre si Adams din nagsulat nung screenplay

  6. Books are great... mas portable eh, you can take it anywhere... movies on the other hand mas madaling i share sa iba--you will find it easier to get people to watch a movie than read a book, no matter how good the book is... still prefer books though, i enjoy the feeling of being right there... mahirap sa movie house, ur sharing the movie with hundreds of people at the same time

  7. Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe (1849)

    It was many and many a year ago,

    In a kingdom by the sea,

    That a maiden there lived whom you may know

    By the name of ANNABEL LEE;--

    And this maiden she lived with no other thought

    Than to love and be loved by me.

    She was a child and I was a child,

    In this kingdom by the sea,

    But we loved with a love that was more than love--

    I and my Annabel Lee--

    With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven

    Coveted her and me.

    And this was the reason that, long ago,

    In this kingdom by the sea,

    A wind blew out of a cloud by night

    Chilling my Annabel Lee;

    So that her high-born kinsman came

    And bore her away from me,

    To shut her up in a sepulchre

    In this kingdom by the sea.

    The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,

    Went envying her and me:--

    Yes! that was the reason (as all men know,

    In this kingdom by the sea)

    That the wind came out of a cloud, chilling

    And killing my Annabel Lee.

    But our love it was stronger by far than the love

    Of those who were older than we--

    Of many far wiser than we-

    And neither the angels in Heaven above,

    Nor the demons down under the sea,

    Can ever dissever my soul from the soul

    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee:--

    For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams

    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

    And the stars never rise but I see the bright eyes

    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

    And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side

    Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,

    In her sepulchre there by the sea--

    In her tomb by the side of the sea.

  8. Gabriel Garcia Marquez' Chronicle of A Death Fortold...

    Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich... very poignant

    If you're into intense action... I suggest Robert Ludlum, any Ludlum...

    Be inspired by Max Lucado's In the Eye of the Storm

    Fantasy: Tolkien's Silmarillion (pseudo-historical type); Gaiman's Neverwhere... American Gods

    Filipino Literature: Tree by F. Sionil Jose

    If you just want to laugh and relax hehe... Calvin and Hobbes saka Beerkada!
