The only way to have us defend ourselves against China's massive war machine is through a defensive coalition with our co SEA nations. The Philippines is very hard to defend because of our numerous coastlines. I would imagine that even if we had advanced weapons systems, we won't have the necessary manpower to defend our entire coastline.

Saw on the news last night a crackdown on pedicabs plying major roads in Manila. Seems Manila City Hall is sincere in trying to de-congest the city of heavy traffic. Pedicab drivers were interviewed and had the audacity to say that when the time is right, they'd resume operations.
There should be a 3 strike rule. The third time they're caught violating the ordinance, their pedicabs should be confiscated in favor of the city government. If only to let these abusive pedicab drivers that the city government is serious.
totally agree. I can't believe I'll say this, but Erap is making progress in Manila.

less use of foot brakes (read: use engine brakes more) and shifting to neutral and taking advantage of inertia when stopping before a red light.

I'm using a EA4500 wireless. It can pretty much handle simultaneous internal data transfers pretty well. I can do file sharing, stream my videos though a Smart TV, use internet radio and work at home using a VPN without a problem. It also operates 24/7 for almost a year now. It's stil an N standard though. If you can wait, and can take the damage, go for the AC standard wireless routers since the technology is going in that direction anyways.

+1 on the Egghead shop. check out their Facebook page or better yet visit their store in Robinson's Galleria. I spent almost an hour sampling their headsets before I got myself a Grado sr225i and they didn't mind it. They even helped me decide.

I feel that weighing the pros and cons of plasma and LED, LED will be the winner. Sure there's better picture quality but if you consider the fact that plasma's are being phased out slowly, you'll have maintenance nightmares later on and plasma generates more heat than LEDs

for everyday driving, matic na lang. It's so hard to drive in stop and go using a stick car without losing your patience after doing it habitually. For performance drives or long drives to provinces, manual for better efficiency and engine control.

Easy to say both if your passion earns you a living. Lucky are those who are in jobs that they are really passionate about but if your passion is not your paycheck, maybe the question becomes how much are you willing to sacrifice to pursue your passion? Responsibility has to play a role in the equation too. Would you pursue your passion even if it means not having food on the table for the family?

Bose. Might not be the best audio quality but returns the investment in terms of durability and build quality.

I feel that Microsoft should have released two versions of Windows 8 - One focused on desktops and laptops and a separate OS for tablets. While I understand why they try to make one "good for all" OS, it will feel weird to have a "desktop" environment in a tablet and it's much counter productive to have the start menu in a horizontal sliding fashion for enterprise users just like gamehunter mentioned. What's worse, the Windows 8 and the Desktop environment tasks are managed differently and the good old alt + tab will not work exactly as you wish it would. It might be good enough for a home PC but I can't imagine running Windows 8 in the office. An impending nightmare for IT departments and enterprise users if you ask me. Unmatched booting time though and nice colors.

Try visiting Egghead Audiohub at Robinson's Galleria. They got a smorgasbord of cans and earphones of all types, and demo units too. I got a Grado SR225i since I listen to a lot of Acoustic, Jazz and Classical music. Bang for the buck cans too: they have relatively lower prices.
