here are my unsolicited thoughts:

 

1. taxotere and xeloda are good drugs, basically for 2nd line tx. another option is combining chemo with avastin. ask your oncologist about it.

2. yes, nobody can give you 100% assurance, moreso if we are talking about recurrences. im sorry if i come across as blunt. i have to be. i hope you understand.......in every patient that i have, i tell them that even if we use the targeted therapies, which are the most expensive ones, it would be impossible to guarantee cure.....partly because cure depends on a lot of factors, and partly because only God can guarantee you that....and that is way beyond what we oncologists can do.....

3. personally, i would still push for the dendritic cell tx, if your finances can support you. i wish i could elaborate on this but im not the proper person to do so.

i read it already. it was exactly what my wife underwent when she had recurrence of her breast ca in the operative site after about 6 years. she underwent another surgery and 6 rounds of taxotere and xeloda and radiotx and because she is triple negative, we decided to undergo the dendritic cell theraphy under dr samuel bernal. i was asking a lot of opinions from classmates and colleagues but they seem to have different opinions about the said treatment. maybe im just looking for more assurance that the said treatment would work as it was designed but i have learned that nobody can give you an assurance and peace of mind except prayers. thank you very much for your opinion angel...

im not a lawyer, but i think the school has the right to do this to preserve their morality stance.

and yes, i think she has to transfer to another school, dahil maski andun pa sya, o i-allow sya mag enroll next sem, di na rin nya makakayanan ang intriga, which which result in her being defocused. aalis at aalis din sya dun.

 

each school or institution kasi has its own guidelines na kailangan ding i-observe, outside of the legal system. ngayon, if she feels that her rights are violated, then its another story. siguro, pwede syang maghabol dun sa school for damages, pero dapat wala na sya dun.

 

its like this.... pag nagwowork ka, tapos ginagagu ka ng mga tao sa office nyo up to the point na bagsak na moral mo, and hindi ka na makafunction normally, then its time to go. you can still go after the company, although it will take lots of your resources, for damages. pero sino ang talo? ikaw din.

 

imho lang ha? and i repeat, i am not a lawyer.

i have a lady student friend na un kanyang email account was hacked by another unknown student din sa kanyang school.... and then using illicit private pictures of my friend, he made a friendster account na lumalabas na parang sa friend ko yun.. tapos he sent this same pics to the email address ng school .... so ang nangyari, my friend called by the dean and made to explain and also she was made to face the disciplinary board made up of 8 members and was grilled for 1 and 1/2 hours.... she was also made to make a hurriedly prepared explanation letter.... the verdict she will be suspended for a period of time and zero daw sya sa lahat ng activities during the said suspension.... and strongly encouranged to transfer to another school sa next sem pero with the length of time ng suspension nya babagsak na din sya.... she still wants to go to that school too against my advice

 

for me it it not fair but she does not have any money to defend herself and since this field is not my expertise, i dont know what to advice her.. can anything still be done para ma delay lang up to the end of the sem para di naman masayang ung binayad nya?..... i hope anybody can advise kasi the suspension will take effect on monday....

I'll start the ball rolling.

 

I lost my wife of 16 years to Breast Cancer.  We battled it for almost 3.5 years, but in the end, we lost.  It was a long, painful, uphill battle.  It drained us financially, emotionally, physically. Nearing the end my wife thanked me for the support.  Told her not to thank me, as I would have done it even without her asking for it.

 

But life has to go on.  Not advisable to just sit in a corner and sulk or be despondent about Life.

 

Life is to short not to enjoy it....

just read this thread but every time i hear of the big C, our struggles, fears, uncertainties come back and haunt me again... my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002 at the age of 35, was operated , chemotheraphy and the works... its been 4 years but i know in my heart there is no assurance on non recurrence but life has to go on.. from every 3 months check up, we are now in annual check up but we are still stressed during the time of the checkup or even a few weeks before that..it changed our outlook for life forever.. i guess now long term planning is out of the question. we are now living day to day but never forgetting to enjoy every minute of it.......

Me, wholesale diaper and mga dishwashing liq/powder/fabric cond. Kasi yan lagi ang mabili sa market. Daming bata sa pilipinas kung mapapansin nyo. I do my market sa internet, kapitbahay, relatives, kasi wla akong pwesto. And kung kelan lng may order saka ako invest, malaki na rin kita, enjoy ka pa.
