  1. Doing well bro!

Wow! Steve Miller and the Joker! Haven't heard that one in a long long time.

I have a copy of that album but it's in LP form pa. heheh.

Yup! Still planning ion goin for the biz. So far, on schedule pa naman ako as I wanted to get rid of all my Credit Card payments first in order to start fresh. If al falls right, then it will happen 2009.

When you're free, let's have lunch? We're in the same area, right?

    Cheers!

"Some people call me Maurice- cuz I speak of the pompatous of love." - Hanep yung invented word nya di ba?

I am doing fine, however I'm in Canada now, drumming up some biz for our recruitment agency. I'll be back this December before Chhristmas. So lunch tayo pagdating ko. Kita tayo for sure. Uy malapit na ang 2009. Hope you set up your biz and it becomes successful. :thumbsupsmiley:

Okay iyanng turntable na iyan ah! Musta na pareng Pinoy? Saan kayo ngayon? Regards to Augustmoon.

  2. Hahah!

    Those were some moments.

Now, we can even bring our children and enjoy ourselves totally.

That's actually a pretty good and welcome development as the culture of both schools have really changed towards a greater acceptance of each other's existence.

Before, kasi, kahit sa mga parties lang hinde talaga pwedeng magsama and La Sallista at Atenista as there's a very good chance na may mag-aaway. I was witness to these incidents several times.

La Salle Ateneo 2nd game today. Para sa akin lang--whoever wins deserves it more as both teams have been working hard all through out the season.

    :D

Uy, kumusta ka na? You still planning on setting up the biz? Good luck!

Good luck din sa 2 team mamaya.

Para di OT: LSS ko ngayon Steve Miller Band - The Joker -1973. I remember we were in the school bus and it was playing on DZRJ.

Hehehe. Tapos yung nangunguna sa away naman si Edu Manzano ng La Salle and his gang.

Those were the days nga. Palakpak, sigaw, tapos.

The 70s - those were the days of adrenaline and testosterone - a dangerous mix in an NCAA basketball game.

Ngayon, ang mix natin ay Calciblock and Viagra (sometimes) bwahahaha.

    :upside:

  4. Tumpak kay M. Uy :thumbsupsmiley:

Ateneo-La Salle Rivalry in the NC back in the 70s ws also hot as it is today...we still recall the likes of Ateneo's Cleofas, Afable, Ross, Arnaiz vs. La Salle's equally formidable Arhers Lim. Trillo, Bilbao.

On the record, DLSU won more varsity championships in the NC than ADM in the early 70s until ADM joined UAAP in 78 and DLSU followed in 86.

    Pls check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_...tball_champions

Mas maraming championships ang Ateneo Seniors in the NCAA vs, La Salle (14 vs. 5).

Total championships in both NCAA and UAAP: ADMU - 17, DLSU - 12.

Difference lang ng rivalry nung 70s, may chain-link fence between the fans of the two opposing teams di ba?

    Di ba SBM and 16track?

Kumusta na kayo dyan? Long time no post ako sa 70s.

:thumbsupsmiley: :thumbsupsmiley: :thumbsupsmiley:

  5. From another thread here in MTC. Galing ng English

"Mga friend....last friday i pass this place, plan to visit but the problem is the parking space is not available, one standby person said i can park sa gasoline station area, so i just proceed to the place guide by one of young guy ( i think he's from gasoline station), after park he ask me if i could left my car key, but i refuse so i just back to my car and go. My question is, the parking is save ba?????? thank you po"

  6. Etong alam ko sa ibang songs. Tama ba?

    6) You used to think it was so easy, but you're trying, you're trying now - Baker Street - Jerry Rafferty

    12) Darling if you want me to see, see only you, then see only me - Get Closer - Seals and Crofts

    28) We've come too far to leave it all behind. How can we end it all this way - If you leave me now - Chicago

    34) Travelling twice the speed of sound, its easy to get burned. - Just a song before I go - Crosby, Stills, and Nash

    40) And I don't know if I'm being foolish, I don't know if I'm being wise, but it's something I must believe in - Love is in the air - Steve Allen (disco version)

    55) They will never bring you true love, I think you know what I mean - Somebody warm like me - Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo

:upside:

  7. Thanks for the info about the Circus Bandmembers Hitman531ph.

Augustmoon and I have been listening to the Circus CD trying to figuure out the lead vocals for every song. we couldnt discern well enough to be sure except for a couple of songs except those of Pabs, Tillie and that of Richard Tan. We still couldnt identify which has Basil as lead vocals. Noticed that all the singers (of Circus Band) really enunciate the kyrics of the song(s) very well...unlike the present crop of singers who eat their words.

  8. Ernest Borgnine?

Tumpak! A cigar for the gentleman. One of the few shows we could watch on Saturday morning on Channel 7. Kasi wala naman tayong 24 hr cartoon channel. Isa pang naaalala kong palabas - "Training you to train your dog" hosted by Blanche Saunders.

Tapos naaalala ko rin yung wrestling on 7 - napaka-fake and just as fake as the wrestling we get nowadays.

You guys liked Rat Patrol? Outer limits? Twilight Zone? Space Family Robinson? (baklang bakla talaga si Dr. Smith), and the lame cartoon adaptation of the Three Stooges, plus the Funny Company and Beany and Cecil (Dishonest John). Yung Beany and Cecil, medyo intellectual pa ang mga one-liners niya -parodies. I remember one episode na sinabi ni Beany na papunta silang No- Bikini Atoll (Bikini Atoll was the test site for a nuke bomb).

  9. Teka teka...alam ko yan....yan yung Gillette blade razor d ba?

Naging model pa dyan ay yung NBA player da galing dito kasama si Walt Frazier at Randy Smith...si Geoff Petrie yata yun

    Tama ba Pinoy?

Di ko kasi natatandaan. Baka Gillette or DEP. You guys remember DEP?

Caronia - with its cheesy song, Vonnell, Jet detergent, RC cola, Apple Sidra, Kaminomoto o-ban, and Tancho Tique.

Guess who the gentlemen in my avatar is. Kilala niyo iyan. Buhay pa. Siya ang boses ni Mermaid Man sa Sponge Bob.

  10. Pards, did you know that Andrea True was a porn star back in the mid-70s before she turned singer? She was in a porn movie called "The Seduction of Lyn Carter" where she played the title character.

Second hand info lang ito. :P

The song "Steal my sunshine", if you heard it, and as performed by the group Lena, sounds like More, more, more. The group paid tribute to Andrea True and even featured her on the MTV (cameo appearance). Marami na talagang nagre-remake ng 70s and 80s songs.

  11. ===============================================

Their password: check mate king two, this is ______, over! (fill in the blank kasi di ko rin alam sagot) hehehe. parati nilang ginagamit ito when they are asking for reinforcements. Too bad Vic Morrow died in a freak accident together with 2 children while filming a clip.

After Combat.....wait naman namin yung Batman cartoons then the Green Hornet featuring the then unknown Bruce Lee.

This is white rook, over. :)

  13. Ei! Nice pic of the Sony Betamax. That unit brings back a lot of memeories - especially the XXX kind. ung una kong XXX beta na napanood ko was "Deep Throat" and it was on a unit like that! Previous to that puro super 8mm na films ang pinanapanood namin. :thumbsupsmiley:

The Betamax really freed us from all the boring shows on TV, and the movie reruns. Now we have cable (which is also becoming boring) and dvd players. But the VCR was really a liberating experience and gave the consumer the power to watch what he wanted.

  14. Change oil/tune up is OK.

However, there was a time when the suspension was producing a sound so I had a pickup brought there. And they diagnosed that shocks and many other things need to be replaced and it would cost 24,000.

I went for a second opinion at the casa or Universal Motors Corp, and they said only the bushing needed replace ment and cost only 5,000 or so.

Just beware at so-called "named" shops. I know for a fact that Mega Motion has a policy enforced by their boss and employees to replace whatever is possible for the situation, in order to increase sales. Perhaps, Rapide has the same policy.

Correct. Had the same experience too. They were charging me 20K for the repair on the car's suspension. Tapos, yung isa pang motor shop 6K lang.

  15. That cab / car is called the TOYOPET. Model 1968 yata yan.

Do any on you remember the department store GOODEARTH in Escolta ? It was touted as the FIRST store (or place??) to have an ESCALATOR. The top floor was the toy department that had a mini zoo of small exotic animals...crocos, iguanas and the like.

MATZUSAKAYA in Cubao was also a mini-E-playground of sorts - may kiddie rides and electric cars din.

  16. yes antonio vivaldi is from the baroque period.1678 to 17sumthing ata sya . i think he is very well known for his 4 seasons.

with the lupit reply ko sorry ha hehehe tamad lang ako siguro nun. anyway ampng the modern pianists rachmaninoff is the more passionate composer. i love listening to his rhapsody on a theme by paganini( great violinist and composer). although very taxing for the pianist kasi it requires so much power and dexterity.

yung tchaikowsky mali pala ako tchaikovsky ang tamang spelling kasi russian sya di german.dun sa di familiar sa kanya i think he was from the late romantic period (pls correct me if im wrong) he wrote a lot of symphonies and concertos pero bored ako dun kaya di ko matandaan e hehehe. anyway i heard a cd of a collection of his songs sung by a very good russian baritone dmitry horotovsky.. not sure of the spelling. very emotional ang songs..

    "

regarding this post.. wow i never knew that.. alam ko lang yung william tell overture na ginamit sa lone ranger movie.. and of course yung mga symphonies na ginagamit sa mga warner bro's na cartoons lalo na sa bugs bunny. ano ba mga title nun? anyone?

Warner Bros classical themes I can think of:

Overture from the Barber of Seville by Rossini, Ring of the Nibelungs and Tristan und Isolde by Wagner (Bugs and Elmer Fudd's opera), Inky and the Mynah Bird - overture from New Hebrides Concerto by Mendelssohn

For Baroque music, of which I am an avid fan, try the following Italian composers who lived in the mid 1600s to the mid 1700s, or the age of Baroque: Vivaldi, Locatelli, Albinoni, Manfredini, Tartini, Corelli, Scarlatti.

For non-Italian Baroque masters - the very popular Johann Pachelbel (Canon in G, a wedding mainstay), the prolific Bach and Telemann from Germany, Handel from Germany/England, Lulli from Italy/France, Rameau (France), Purcell (UK),
