  1. * That even if a guy can buy a car with his money, he still prefers to commute to save for more important things

    * That a guy can be classy enough to eat at a 5-star hotel and can still eat fishballs with you

    * That a guy still believes in opening doors for you, asking you if you have not skipped your meals and still calls you up just to say goodnight

    * That a guy thinks his current top management position at work is just a title and gives credit to what you suggest to make his work better

    * That a guy is not afraid to counter a girl's opinions because he really has a valid point, not because his ego was "stepped on" by a smart girl

    Smartness really IS sexiness. ;)

  2. God knows how many horror stories I've heard about people with contact lenses (my sister included). Now that I need my eyes corrected, I chose a pair of black, professor-like glasses. Some said it's too emo, but guys think otherwise (which is I find weird, seriously).

Oh, and I have a fetish for geeky-looking guys with glasses. Something about the glasses and the way they look so "innocent" makes me wonder if they're not. Lol. B)

  3. Inferiority complex, couldn't get past what they see physically in a person.

A good case would be celebrities running for public office and winning despite lack of experience. When the general public is asked, they voted for that person because "gwapo/maganda siya". A logic more shallow than a kiddie pool!

  4. Oh, and for those who are requesting a playlist, since I'm more inclined to vocal and beach house, here it is (freakin' ear and head candy!):

    1. Sun Is Coming Out For Us (2009) - DJ Meme

    2. Central Reservation - Beth Orton

    3. Washes Over You (Wamdue Main Mix) - Wamdue Project Featuring Heather Johnson

    4. So Far (Album Mix) - Miguel Migs

    5. Never Ending (Extended Mix) - Kaskade

    6. Surfacing (Rize & 7th Heaven Remix) - Belle

    7. I Believe In You (Club Mix) - Full Intention

    8. As Strong As The Sun (Milky Remix) - Astronuts

    9. Swimming Places (Jerome Sydenham Mix) - Jerome Sydenham Featuring Julien Jabre

    10. La Luna (Club Mix) - Andy Cato

    11. Fallin' - Peyton

    12. Fade (Eric Kupper Mix) - Solu Music Featuring Kimblee

    13. 1983 (Eric Prydz Mix) - Paul Mojo

    14. What Else Is There (Twisted Disco Album) - Royskopp

    15. The Cure & The Cause (Dennis Ferrer Mix) - Fish Go Deep

    16. Infinitely Gentle Blows

    17. Little Love - Li'l Love

    18. Rise (Eric Kupper Mix) - Samantha James (anthem of my life. Lol)

Always remember, when making a playlist, you have to consider the journey and progression instead of making a hodegpodge of songs. The "good" in GV will become great if you sequence your songs wisely. B)

  5. No word regarding David Guetta, yet. Were you able to catch Markus Schulz last month? Pretty awesome, yes? :)

Nah, work is getting the best of me. But I try to be good vibes by making sure that my playlists are updated. :)

I even missed Eric Kupper (although I watched him na 2 years ago) and Mark Doyle's party. I'm more of a Fierce Angel instead of a Hed Kandi gurl. Like their mixes better. And I give my loyalty to Bonnie and Peyton. ;)

Lemme know if I'm missing out on other parties. B)

  6. Wow, brings back a lot of memories than the food:

    1. Angelino's Pizza along Katipunan - for their Blue Cheese Pizza

    2. Miggy's - never really liked Mexican, but they've got great tacos and fajitas

    3. Coney Island - big fan of ice cream

    4. My friend's cafe - they're the only cafe I know that serves Strawberry Cappuccino at just 50 bucks!

Wish they could bring these all back. :)

  7. I can recommend 2 places in the Katipunan-Libis area that are nice to chill-out at:

    1. CS Place - (near Banapple, Northbound to Ateneo) this is the spin-off bar of the Countryside BBQ (beside Kopi Roti cafe) in which the owners of both establishments are actually one. They have San Miguel Premium at 50 bucks, beers that are below zero, and the pulutan has the same good quality of the restaurant. Great service, too. Best part is, there's a resident DJ that spins just good music (for the yuppy crowd). No slackers and stupid, feeling cool kids you usually see at Eastwood, etc.

    2. Grilla - (beside Old Spaghetti House) weird that I have passed by this place for years and years going to work, yet I had never tried drinking or eating there once. When I did get to have a chance 3 months ago, I wish I could have gone to that place more. BBZ's, nice ambiance, cool music, too. Plus, most of the guys who hang-out there are yuppies, working professionals, etc.

For people in the Makati/Pasong Tamo area:

    1. 121 Allegro - (at Pasong Tamo Extension, Allegro building, above Starbucks) this place rocks in a way that it has very affordable beer and yummy food, imported beer products (Stela, etc.), and the people are just good vibes all the way. The owners talk to you personally, take pictures of partygoers, and they have theme nights to make it more fun (Tuesdays are quiz nights, Thursdays are Drinkeoke nights where they invite band members of different popular groups!).

    2. Chunky Boy - (at the back of Export Bank Building, Chino Roces corner Buendia Ave.) this hole-in-the-wall bar is a popular hang-out for office-goers in the nearby buildings, but for its lack of classy ambiance and being widely open to the general mass, it makes up for its mean cheap beer, good food and cheap, by-the pitcher margaritas and good mix of mango martinis. My condo was near Chunky's before, and I nearly made a weekly habit of it. And the catch is, I really don't drink! It only means that it can be a fun place. :)

  8. The Fort for me. I have lived in 2 different cities previously and I appreciated the lack of traffic as well as the discipline of the people who live there. Besides, the bars, clubs and chill-out lounges there are incomparable in terms of style, ambiance, and the people who get in.

Eastwood and Metrowalk are too cramped and cannot do crowd control. The Eastwood Mall actually became a breather since it migrated a lot of the restos in Makati.

But wholistically speaking, the Fort would be very conducive for one to unwind. :)

  9. FERRY CORSTEN in Manila on May 21st! I am sooo going to throw myself at his feet.

Thanks for the info, girl. I missed PVD last year and I'm not gonna miss one great dj again!

Would you happen to know if David Guetta's coming to town, too? I know he's a bit mainstream, but he can definitely take the word "party" to another level! Just reminiscing on my New Year's Eve party at the Fort. B)

  10. I love Italian dishes out of all as same as I would Pinoy dishes. I would have to say Italianni's is a very overpriced and overrated resto, and I had to customize my order just to get the right combination.

Angel hair pasta-based dishes are my all-time favorite. The puttanesca dish at the Old Spaghetti house is a big surprise for me. Just the right combination of tomato, herbs, olive oil, etc. Makes my mouth water already!

For quick fixes, take Amici's (which has the best and cheapest gelatto btw), and Bellini's. :)

  11. I can truly say that for a nearly a decade of working, it would have to be passion.

Recently, I signed up for a job that people in my industry would not normally sign up for because the pay "sucks". But as luck turned out, not only did a much higher position, but the first group to exist in such a company.

I actually quit higher paying jobs because I was doing the same thing over and over and it did not do me any good. Passion gives you direction and more chances of earning higher salaries and push yourself to things that you never dreamed of you were capable of doing. :)

  12. ok so most of us are shy or lazy to share what really goes on when were "STRESSED".

now this is the exact thing that i did when i was REALLY "REALLY" stressed out

    1. when i got home from school i drove to a local LIQUOR store, grabbed myself a 6 pack CORONA and a bottle of RASPBERRY SMIRNOFF and MALIBU RHUM

    2. head to a headshop and get a 2 packs of peach MIAMI BLUNTS and a havana CIGAR.

    3. drive home and roll 2 5inch f#$%ing FAT BLUNTS from ALLEN's TOP NOTCH s#!T from sagada with cuban tobacco (the right mixture, the right way)

    4. mixed malibu, pineapple juice, and vodka

    4. call up ANGELA and ADAM and invited them over

    5. play the movie "Friday" in my computer while waiting for them (movie varies)

    6. they arrive. then a little CHITCHAT (notices everyones eager to get the DRINKING STARTED).

    7. then out comes the BOOZE (with doritos/ruffles w dip for pulutan)

    8. after 2 hours

    9. LISTEN, WERE ALREADY DRUNK. while listening to REGGAE MUSIC (wala ng pakelam mode everyones drunk)

    10. the main event!!! i introduce them to the badass BLUNT that I MADE. (while still drinking)

    11. argues who SPARKS IT UP first. (forces ANGELA to light it up first but she denies kasi nagduda baka may SALVIA or ACID yung BLUNT which is rediculous)

    12. so i light it up first and PASS IT ON to the RIGHT HAND SIDE

    13. we get REALLY HIGH AND DRUNK and talk about EXTREMELY RANDOM STUFF VERY SERIOUSLY. (topics could go to UNDERWEAR and RELIGION)

    14. we get EXTREMELY F#$%ED UP since EVERYONES WILLING TO GET MESSED UP and no ones paying attention to the movie

    15. i SPILL OUT SECRETS THAT IM NOT AWARE OF SINCE IM MESSED UP

    16. decides to go to the VILLAGE PARK and walk around (swing or seesaw while unbelievably drunk)

    17. everyones hungry and we decide to go get some SHAWARMA or KEEMA. i hit on the HOT waitress habang nabubulol. (and i try to control myself since im really really drunk at gusto ko magwala for no apparent reason)

    18. while eating (neither of us talked) ANGELA remembered she has a pad of v's in her wallet :D

    19. i get EXTREMELY EXCITED

    20. we head off home and i grab my 2ND BLUNT (since i found out there were V'S)

    21. each of us drops 2 tabs of V'S IN OUR MOUTHS and drive around the village sounds up PLAYING PASS THE MARIJUANA BY MYSTIC ROOTS while smoking until the blunts gone.

    22. WE ARE REALLY REALLY F$%^ED UP AT THIS TIME. SERIOUSLY. we park by the sidewalk infront of the soccer field. (we all have the "dont care about anything anymore feeling")

    23. kwetuhan while yosi

    24. at this point we are DRUNK, HIGH FROM WEED, and HIGH FROM V's. (one of the best feelings you could experience)

    25. we wonder what else is there to do for around 30mins. (some of the stupidest ideas came out at this point)

    26. OK SO yung amats was going down. (nasusuka nako at nahihilo at sakit ng ULO KO P#T@!!)

    27. ADAM blurts out "smoke pa tayo!!!"

    28. my PRIDE IS RIGHT INFRONT OF ME. so i head to the car and roll a nice big FATTY on my lap while saying BUHAY KAPA! (4inches long 1cm wide) hoping this will satisfy this jerk.

    29. before sparking, ANGELA asks me of what we were to do after this. i tell her "JAH! RASTAFARI!"

    30. WE SMOKED A HELL LOT OF BUD! its 8pm and i had to bring angela home (girl kasi at strict parents) so we decided to smoke while driving her home to corinthians. she kept screaming coz of my driving. (t@n6n@ you wouldn't imagine how messed up we were at this point! I DARE YOU! SMOKE and DRINK WITH ME!)

    31. we drop her off.

    32. hmm what do we do?

    33. sabi ni adam sakin, oh ANO?! LALAKE KA BA?! INUMAN PA TAYO!!! we go to CUBAO EXPO and order a bucket of beer and light up a bowl to get the party started. (everyone started to light up! the whole place smelled of marijuana!)

    34. so its me and ADAM nalang.

    35. literally wasted nako dun sa bar wala nakong gana gusto ko na matulog tinatamad na talaga ako 2am na sht then nagyaya si gago

    36. gusto mo ng MAGKAPERA? and were off! TO HYATT!!! BACCARAT NA TOH!!! (CASINO!)

    37. sugal! SUGAL! SUGAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

    38. arrive home around 6am LITERALLY walang tulog LIGO, BIHIS, PASOK sa school. (tulala na ko nito yung mata ko 1/3open. antok, sabog, lasing)

    39. i drive home after school mga 2pm naka uniform pa walang toothbrush or bihis or hilamos literal pambahay AS IS bagsak sa kama TULOG.

this is what i do when im stressed out :) wanna do it with me? you're more than welcome!! PM ME :D

This is a very entertaining post, seriously! Kinda reminds me of the Eminem song with those other rappers and they go on purple hills. Haha. :)

  13. now if he is crazy with the other PSP... i think that would be a bigger problem.

what does PSP mean by the way? Personal PlayStation? that would make it PPS! ... so it has to be PlayStation Personal.

now im convinced the japanese made the PSP.

It's Playstation PORTABLE, dear. I think posting a correction for the general public to read and NOT researching on it is the BIGGEST problem.

But back to the topic, you can definitely see who is shallow here and who is not. But I guess it is fair to say that since the topic itself is very broad, everyone is still entitled to their own preferences. And it's up to the others to hate them for it.

At this point in my adult life, I can say I'd really go for the guy's conversational skills (and grammar as well), his wicked sense of humor, and overall stability in mental, emotional and financial aspects. I cannot go out with a GQ-looking chap and find out he's a scrub and would blow off my phone and barks worse than his bite and... you get the picture. Physical preferences would be a plus, but is that really all that matters when you know he has bad breath when he wakes up every morning like everybody else?

And I agree that girls should do their parts in finding their "ideal men". Some guys are actually highly independent (and I find that very sexy) that they are just as nasty as girls when shrugging off guys. But as we all know, everybody has tricks up their sleeves initially. That's why Google was made. ;)

  14. Binge at a fine-dining resto and have my credit card bill skyrocket! Lol.

But seriously, I look for my comfort foods which are Red Mango and Cold Rock. Oh, and call my girl friends on the phone without thinking about the minutes.

So it's eating something cold + venting out on a good friend while eating = Bliss. :)

  15. Definitely the Fort for me.

As far as getting laid is concerned, it's DEFINITELY not impossible to get laid consistently at the places there - and you don't need a nice car or lots of money to do it either, just the dynamic duo of social skills and decent fashion sense.

Take it from me, you're not gonna get spoiled rich girls by trying to buy their affection - they have enough money already. However, you DO have to project that you're familiar with their world and can relate. If they can't tell by looking at you or from the first few minutes of conversation, you're toast.

Will be posting field reports soon! Cheers!

Well-said. No other city can make such a hip and happening place. Probably because it targets a crowd that is well-mannered and have refined tastes.

For the celebs who make the Fort look bad, don't worry, they still get kicked out of the clubs. Celebs here are sometimes even considered members of the "C crowd", unlike in the US.

And probably because you can't go there by jeeps or buses. Even showing up in a cab already gets eyebrows raised. ;)

  16. Living alone is very intoxicating. Ownt time, own rules, a bigger bedspace for a naughty night (lol)...

But seriously, it also gives you the empowering feeling of having accomplished something big, even if it means doing your own laundry or cooking your own food (in which case, I have a clearbook full of resto fliers to always have food delivered since I don't cook.)

Or even if you don't cook food, you can always go out whenever, wherever, since there is always a 24-hour fastfood/convenience store you can go to! (Good thing Makati CBD is always awake and there's a Ministop at the groundfloor of my condo.) :)

For those of you who haven't tried this, you're missing half your life. ;)
