  1. I would prefer house and lot anytime of course. You have your house, AND your own lot. even if the house is gone, you still own the lot. not the case with condo units, once the building is gone, your property is gone as well.

Although these days, its very hard to spot affordable and good house and lot deals here in manila. Condo might also be fine with me as long as its low rise (security precautions such as earthquakes and the like)

Just my two cents, everyone :-)

  2. I've been living alone here in Manila since Feb, 2008 and I so love it. you get to do what you wanna do. sleep the whole day, party all night. You can even bring girls along and have sex as much as you want to. haha. The only downside is you also have to work hard to cover up all the expenses for everyday survival. But still, I would always prefer this kind of setup, for now that is... :thumbsupsmiley:

  3. There are 2 opposite scenarios I am seeing here.

1st: Your passion coincides with earning good money.

2nd: Good money is too far from reality when pursuing your passion alone.

There are 3 types of situations when to pursue what, in my perspective.

    1. Very lucky you are if it boils down to the first option - You don't have to make any choice at all.

    2. If your passion doesn't at all give you good earnings (reality check) - or not even a yardstick near to what is needed to support your needs and your family, plus you belong to the not so fortunate class of the society, then think twice my dear. better to be practical, and maybe pursue your passion if you have the resources already.

    3. If you are the rich-guy-next-door type, who, is luckily blessed. Then its a wise decision to pursue your passion. After all, you have the resources to support it. and eventually make it grow.

Anyway, just my two cents. peace.

    Hope this helps though. ;)

  4. I definitely love mountaineering. We used to climb at least once in 2 months way back in college with my buddies in La Union. been to mount pulag in kabayan benguet (via the akiki route), mount mariveles in bataan, mount maculot in batangas, mount santo tomas in benguet and others.... I miss those days.
