just finished da vinci code. it's rare for novels to sufficiently sustain my interest that i'll read it in one sitting, but this one's an exception. it's exceptional. medyo corny ang ending but the book is still better than most, including deception point.

just finished dan brown's deception point. it was given as a gift a long time ago, but it was only yesterday that i decided to read it. isang upuan lang.
astig iyong libro pero dan brown is a notch below ton clancy.

they once called me the iceman because i could keep my cool under the hottest situations. last wednesday though, i came very very close to cracking and i wanted to just throw my laptop out of the window and quit.
thanks for your ym and text messages: your empathy and sense of humor helped me retain my sanity. thanks. i owe you coffee my special friend.

i cannot understand why i don't have the words whenever i want to post in your room. i just don't understand.
words come freely when i post in other threads, but when face-to-face with your room, artful phrases and my wit desert me.

one after 909 -- beatles (let it be album)

Eraserheads
in Music
the cd's title confirms probably the primary influence in their music: the beatles. after the beatles came out with the anthology sets, artists started renaming hits compilations as anthologies.
the beatles' influence in the eheads is obvious in the way they wrote and arranged their songs: from ligaya to with a smile to kailan to huling el bimbo. even the occasional falsettos were refreshing. it's just sad that after the fourth album or so, the eheads' music became stranger and stranger.

We can all guess right that women from the first category will and would f**k you at the drop of a hat or your pants.
as a human being, i am embarassed by your cold, clinical, even callous approach to sexuality.
as a man, i am appalled that you can make such gender-insensitive statements. even in this adult site where some sensibilities and sensitivities are muted, you have managed to offend.
us men don't need to defend these women: girls like zerreit and psychosexy can do the job better than most men ---combined.

smells like teen spirit by nirvana. i've listened to the song so many times and it's probably one of the all-time great rock songs pero di ko maintindihan ang lyrics.

"antyng antyng" by uro dela cruz. it's not easy to read as a lot of his pinoy words are deep, probably even archaic. once you get over these obstacles though, it's a feast for the mind.
i just realized: how come noone else in this topic is reading pinoy lit?

i just read "what would machiavelli do -- the ends justify the meanness" by stanley bing. entertainment weekly was right: it's the ultimate guide to corporate backstabbing.
if you've ever wondered why some mean idiots have gotten ahead of you in the game of life, even though you're nicer, better educated, better looking than them, this book should explain that.
caveat: don't apply everything you read in this book, unless you want to be very rich, successful, but universally hated and loathed.

i've read the purpose driven life, somewhat.
any ideas on the davinci code or maybe the alchemist?
the alchemist is good. it's og mandion-esque minus the "greatest salesman" chants.

i like tin hau and gloria maris. pero most of the time when i crave for chinese food, i go to hap chang or next door.

i read "the rape of nanking" by iris chang. it's been out for a while, but i only read it lately. what saddened me upon reading it is that i haven't seen a book on the "rape of manila" which happened in 1945 when the japs went on a killing rampage just prior to liberation.

anybody heard of david morrell (brotherhood of the rose)???

i've learned that no matter how tough or independent a woman projects herself to be, she still has a craving to be loved, respected, and appreciated.

pinoy writer: sionil jose
foreign writers: e.b. white. john keegan
poets: william carlos williams, ee cummings, sometimes neruda
books: a lot. recently ones are keegan's books--price of admiralty and world war one. next is his history of warfare.
typo error. i mean recent ones, not recently ones. fatigue is taking its toll.
another unforgettable book is "making of a filipino" by constantino. sionil jose's waywaya is probably the best collection of short stories by a filipino writer.

Even now when I have come so far
I wonder where you are, I wonder why it's still so hard without you
Even now when I come shining through, I swear I think of you
And how I wish you knew, even now
