thanks which is better palomino or thorobred, typically which one is being used here, Is it easy to identify which is a palomino or thorobred? Is it true that AMD Athlon XP 2100 are just model name but the clock speed is just about 1.7 gig?

hmmm, i dont know what u mean by "better", since it depends on your situation.

if u r looking 4 speed, then thorobred is better (4 overclocking), n if u can, the thorobred "B" is better than thorobred "A".

but since d thorobred is newer than palomino (well its not new anymore bcoz many newer amd cpus now), u need a newer motherboard 2 run it. older mb cannot run thorobred, this is true 4 all brands. so in this case, palomino is "better" since more mb can use it.

to identify cpu, u can check d internet, ther r many info how to check it. but u hav to take out d cpu fan 2 read the cpu id.

or if u hav motherboard monitor software that can check the cpu voltage, u can use that. palomino run at 1.75V. thorobred A 1.5V-1.65V. thorobred B 1.6V-1.65V. jaz make sure to run at normal setting not overclocked mode.

but some new info says some late model torobred B also run at 1.5V, so if u want 2 b sure which thorobred, better check the cpu id on the cpu itself.

yes, xp2100 run at 1.7G. the number after XP is not the cpu speed. it is only a model number.

i think u may find a used scsi card for few hundred pesos.

hindi na kelangan magimbento ng usb to scsi adapter dahil naimbento narin e2 (it is like a cable).

pero mas mahal pa kesa sa used scsi card.

mga sir is there any way i could use my scsi scanner? nag upgrade kse ako ng pc at wala ng scsi slot sa mb.

if u dont hav scsi interface, there iz no way u can use ur scsi scanner as a scanner.

I'm into video editing at kagabi ko lang to na encounter.

 

I decided to use 120GB (seagate barracuda 7200RPM) instead of using the usual 80GB (Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM) on a project kasi dalawa ang gagawin ko. (ATA133 po)

 

In the middle of my editing (Adobe Premiere 6.5) di na madetect ng program ang aking miniDV.

 

ginawa ko po. Tinangal ko ang capture card (pinnacle studio deluxe gold) mula sa PCI 3 papunta sa PCI 2. Hindi ko kasi mailagay sa PCI 1 (ganun sa matrox rtx100 di po ba?)ang capture card kasi halos mababanga na ng card ang heat sink ng video card (inno3D GeForce FX 5200-8X,128MB/128bit na dual monitor DVI and CRT)

 

luckily, tumakbo naman ng maayos. kinakabahan nga lang ako na baka mag crash na naman.

 

The only modification I did was the 120GB instead of the usual 80GB.Saan po ako nagkamali?

 

Pag gagamit ako ng PCI controller for Serial ATA mas maganda ba?

difficult to assess what could hav happend based on ur info.

it could be a driver, or software problem.

changing the pci slot would only rearrange ur irq's, and depending on ur motherboard+bios+driver implementation, may or may not make ur system better.

regarding ur concern on the hd, some ibm hd's (certain series) have been found to hav reliability problems. other than that, 80gb or 120gb doesnt really matter.

sata in theory is supposed to be faster. at this time, it has not yet demonstrated the speed gains it is supposed to achieve over that of ata133. maybe in the future.

btw, there r 2 kinds of AXP for 1700 or 1800: palomino n thorobred.

Bakit pag yung jumper na naka set yung jp1 1-2 pin normal at jp2 2-3pin (133Mhz) sa motherboard naghahang,  yung processor naman AMD Athlon XP 1800 or XP 1700. Please advise.

there can be various reasons y it dont work, depending on ur mb, cpu or bios version. better check ur manual, or the manufacturer's home page.

if you make profit even if the market is down, it's either you are one of the best market player or you have inside information. Even the regular traders took the sidelines when the market was bad. 

 

I'm referring to the market situation as a whole, not on a per day basis.

 

Basing on your comments, then we may also consider those foreign investors/traders as not so good trader because they pulled their investments and went elsewhere. They were afraid of the crisis here. So that makes them bad traders.
