  1. Just bought a Toyota Camry not because its better than the Accord. I just hate the showroom sales people of Honda Makati and Alabang. These people doesn't know the meaning of customer service and discriminate on customers who don't meet their standards.

  2. ganon pala yun. i thought the radars were permanently located in one of the overpasses lang. :( i guess it was just my unlucky day. been driving NLEX for quite a few times already and ngayon lang ako na-tiempohan. tsk, tsk...

how much kaya fine non? checked the LTO website and speeding was not listed as one of the violations.

the standard fine is P510. the ugly thing is that you have to pay the fine and pickup your license at the LTO main office at east avenue.

A few months ago, my wife's cousin narrated to me how he and 4 other drivers were apprehended at the end of the NLEX for overspeeding. The apprehending team told him that he was speeding at 145kph somewhere after the Shell Station in Balagtas, Bulacan.

He was shouting all kinds of profane words while narrating that incident. He was completely unaware that he was spotted with a radar gun. Pero he was questioning, bakit daw nung tumatakbo siya ng 180kph before getting to the shell station eh hindi siya nasita? Sabi ko naman hindi pa siya nai-spottan ng radar nung time na yun.

I just don't know if the technology is installed already at the NLEX, but in other countries, the radar-speed sensing equipment is installed as part of the overhead cameras strategically located throughout the entire stretch of the highway. So remotely, operators can visually see you shooting the highway and then confirm your speed through the radar gun attached to the camera.

That is also why and how they know which vehicle to apprehend as they approach their respective exits. In short, naka-timbre na sa mga patrol the description of the vehicle(s), including its plate number (in most cases).

MORAL LESSON: Stick to the maximum speed of 100kph.

    Kaya lang bitin noh?

as i have said earlier, the speed gun is usually located before the last 2 exits because it is easier for them to catch you. they dont have a radio strong enough to advise all exit points about the speed violators. furthermore, they can only operate the radar gun up to 6 pm max because of darkness. they need strong light for the camera. usually, they allow up to 120 kph because the speed radar has a 20% margin of error in its reading.

alam ko ung pick up na hi lux na nka taas ung hood kunyari nasiraan na nsa taas ng over pass b4 reaching bocaue exit

    yes this is true!

pati ba pa northbound my nang huhuli?

    yupyup!

  3. If it's just calls, they won't really speed up the service, go to one of their business centers with a written complaint (in duplicate for a received copy mind you). Do it twice, then ask a lawyer to do the third follow up, does wonders. :thumbsupsmiley:

better yet, just write a letter to the public forum in any major newspaper so that the issue will be publicized. if you want to push it further, write a letter of complaint to the department of trade and industry copy furnished the NTC. i believe that would speed up the service :thumbsdownsmiley:

  4. sir,

did you ask before you applied your DSL kung yung 384 eh guaranteed speed or burst speed lang? at kung ano ang CIR(Commited information Rate) para sa 384 DSL nyo?

    thanks

for your info the standard CIR is 80% of the guaranteed speed. so that 384 should have a minimum speed of 307 at any given time. you can ask the pldt dsl hotline 172 about this info

  5. in addition to my earlier post, when i was assigned to the alcatel network, i have probems keeping my dsl connection active. there are certain days that i cannot hook-up with the system. my best speed is around 172 kbps which is less than 50% of the 384 kbps being promoted by pldt. due to incessant complaining, they shifted my connection to the nortel network. its been 7 days since i was transferred, now my connection speed is faster (first time i got 770 kbps) than before. but still there are times when i cant even log on to the network. :thumbsdownsmiley:

  6. agree...MyDSL sucks...in a span of 2 years, mga 7-8 times nang nag-down yung connection ko...what sucks is that it takes 3 calls to their customer service department before they actually send someone over to change your modem or reconfigure your settings or whatnot...sana may direct line na lang sa tech support nila so I won't have to deal with those customer service representatives...

i guess you are not the only one experiencing this problem. i too have not had a day wherein my dsl either has no link or if there is a link its either very slow or not responding. during one of the times the repairman went to our place, i took time to ask him the nature of the problem we are encountering. in our short conversation, i found out that there are two networks handling the dsl internet service of pldt. one is alcatel and the other is nortel. as to why there is a problemat in dsl line, each dsl port can handle around 8 subscriber which share the bandwidth. if for example you are grouped in a port where there is a very big subscriber, then it will eat up the bandwidth allocated in the port causing all the other user's dsl service to go bonkers. this is futher aggravated by the fact that there is probably no system in assigning the port so there is always a chance that any of us can be grouped with a very big user. this may explain why my dsl service is usually cut from 9:30 am up to 12 midnight because i was probably assigned to a port where there is a big user.

i hope this can explain some of the problems that we have. feel free to comment on my post!

  7. Bagong labas ng Mazda 6 2006! overall standing may laban daw!

yes sir! i just visited the showroom of mazda yesterday and saw the m6. ang laki ng change ng features from the previous m6. these include the following:

    1. engine from 2.0 to 2.3L

    2. transmission from the regular automatic to the sportronic type so pwede na mag manual shifting.

    3. mags size from 16 ata to 17

    4. sound system

    5. interior styling is definitely good.

    6. external appearance is also very appealing (parang volvo (s40 series) ang itsura, sporty talaga.

in my own opinion it is definitely better than then honda accord

  8. Good afternoon everyone. I wonder if the people here would give their comments and/or opinions to the Mazda 3. Its one of those cars that I am seriously considering. How's the ride? I heard that it was "under-powered" (whatever that means). Is this true? It seems to be a popular choice in terms of its looks. But what about its performance? Also, when I inquired about it, I was told by one of the sales people that there was a three (3) month wait. Is this indicative of the number of people who have decided to pruchase the Mazda 3?

    Would apprecitate your insights.

    Thanks.

for your information about the M3, the 1600 has 2 versions the S and V. but for both models, the hore power rating is about 105. what makes the car seem underpowered is the fact that its weight is about 1400 kg more or less compared to the other cars in its segment (weight ranges from 1100 to 1250 kg) so the pulling power is less. but what makes up for its seeming low power is the sportronic transmission which allows the driver to shift gear while travelling without to step on the gas. its just like driving the manual.

as for the ride, the M3 is somewhat stiff because of its racing configuration but then again it hogs the the road better compared to the altis.

as for the other car features (seats, interior, etc), i believe it is better compared to the other models in its class.
