  1. Hi there everyone. I am currently working for a startup callcenter located at Ortigas and currently there are a lot of positions available from Shift Managers to Sales Agent. This is an outbound callcenter and we need to fill up 75 seats pretty quick. We are due to start our operations by mid-August so all those interested to join a startup and preferably worked at a callcenter as an outbound sales agent please feel free to email me their resumes. Email is tazman2073@yahoo.com I'll be position the details of all positions available either within the day or tomorrow. Also I'm am looking for experienced IT persons with experience in predictive dialing softwares, preferrably Stratasoft. I'll also be posting the details either within the day or tomorrow.

We have started interviewing several applicants last Monday and is still ongoing so if you are looking for a new job or want to try a job at a callcenter email me now. We have a tight schedule so interested persons please feel free to send me their resumes or just email me and i'll be providing the address so that you can personally drop off your resumes. I would prefer you email them since we are currently scheduling the applicants due to some of the applications are sent via headhunters and they're kindda slow.

  2. OralSpecialist,

You need to ensure that your workstations and server belong to the same IP Address network, meaning if your are using 192.168.1.254 as the server the workstations should be on the 192.168.1.x network using a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 (Class C Network) with their gateway as the IP address of your server. Also a possible solution to sharing the computers aside from having the same workgroup/domain name is creating a LMHOSTS file (you can create this with notepad and putting the IP address and Computer Name per line) and enabling this. You should first try to find the computer using its IP Address as the search element.

  3. What do y'all think? Should I just get a router?

    Hi Oral,

I don't think its necessary to get a router. If you are using the server as a gateway to the Internet another alternative is getting another network card. The first network card will be connected to your internet connection (if DSL) and the other one will be for your internal network. Make sure you use a private network address (192.168.x.x - class C) for your internal address so that it does not have problems with the outside network (internet).

    Hope this helps you out.

  4. Well, looks like I'm back in the Computer thread with the same problem I had a few months ago. With a twist.

I recently installed Windows Server 2003 in the machine I have directly connected to the internet. I used to have Windows XP in it and the rest of my computers have XP as well. I can ping and I can access the internet. However, I can't detect the server from the other machines and the server can't detect the workgroup in spite of all of them being in the same workgroup. I have file sharing turned on in each machine. I even have the same login for each computer and only the XP machines can see each other. The login name I use has administrator priveleges. Can anyone help me? :(

Could you further explain the problem? When you said you can't detect the server, do you mean via ping or via the windows explorer? If it is via windows explorer, try to do a ping first, if you are able to ping the server try find computer and instead of the computer name type in the ip address of the server. If this works please check you network settings for the netbios protocol. If you can ping the server but can't find it in the "find computer" try to check the network adapter settings for packet filtering settings.

    Hope this helps dude B)

  5. Question naman mga computer pros:

Some sites that play videos require either realplayer and quicktime, which I don't have.

    1) Which of them uses a smaller video file?

    2) Which has a better picture and sound quality?

    3) How do I install them? Which is easier to install?

Thanks and I hope you guys can help me here

    Pards,

First of all, Realplayer uses a smaller file because of its video compression engine however avi has a better picture and sound quality but realplayer files can be much better depending on the compression ratio used (the less compressed the original file the better the quality). Well both are easy to install but I would suggest you install both since you do not know what the sites are playing just to make sure to cut down on download time. Oh, by the way if you are using Windows Media Player 8 or higher you probably would not need quicktime since this can be handle by WMP.

    Hope this helps. Chow B)
