  1. I've been reading about Dong Bei Dumpling from food blogs. Any FR on this and location, thanks.

backread ka lang ng medyo mahaba, nung nagsisimula ang thread na to, dong bei was all the rage then.

but whe i tried it, i couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. the dumplings were just passable. what i found surprising was that nobody raved about the xiljiang chicken when that was the best dish they served.

not sure if open pa to. i think that it was too much effort to go to this place for the food they served. it's really nothing spectacular.

  2. Even in the juvenile days of my maternal grandma's care, anything fried/oily only came out twice (utmost) per week from our kitchen. Usually foods are steamed, sauteed or boiled. For me it's a matter of taste & eating fried items more than once in successions made me feel like vomiting.

As for anything nutty or starchy, my immune system does not have any aversion to those. I still can consume 1-2Klgs of sun-dried unshelled cashew/peanuts per sitting w/o any arthritic reactions.

At least once a month, dinadalo ko yan.

i envy you, you healthy b@stard. i hope you get to suffer too.

  3. guys, please help me naman sa pag-gawa ng special sauce. i usually do it by getting a cup of the broth, mixing it with soy sauce, then mixing in the sate sauce. pero, parang may kulang pa eh. thanks, mga tol!

ako kasi tol, i don't add the broth. just soy based sauce, madaming sate sauce, garlic, konting chilli, spring onions, konting kalamansi or black vinegar and egg yolk.

yung ang sikreto dun tol, yung egg yolk. nagpapalapot ng sauce at kakapit sa sinasawsaw mo and it will make the food more rich.

  4. I think that was Coney island I miss their pistachio and bubble gum ice cream iba rin yung texture ng ice cream nila kahit kinagat mo chewy hindi tulad ng mga ice cream ngayon.

    yup, coney island.

sayang, wala na. nagdeteriorate ang quality when the franchise was locally bought and they started producing the ice cream locally and selling it in supermarkets.

that is paul weller, better known as the modfather. lead for the jam, and the style council before going solo. oasis credits him as their biggest influence. the gallagher bros jam and record in his studio.

Madalaw nga this weekend. Saan kaya sila napadpad? Anyone??

luk yuen yung tapat ng landmark brader.

di ko rin alam kung meron pa sila sa makati, greenhills na ko nagpupunta to get a taste of their noodles.

pag makati northpark na pinupuntahan eh.
