  1. There's a new movie - THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST and this is directed by Mel Gibson. This is a drama of the last hours of Jesus. The dialogue is in Latin and Aramaic and English subtitles.

I believe this is a good movie. Some critics of "The Passion of the Christ" worry that its depiction of the role of Jewish leaders in Jesus' final hours will revive the idea that all Jews are to blame for his death.

    -----------------------------------

IT was more than I could believe that Jesus was the only incarnate son of God, and that only he who believed in him would have everlasting life. If God could have sons, all of us were His sons. If Jesus was like a God, or God Himself, then all men were like God and could be God Himself. My reason was not ready to believe literally that Jesus by his death and by his blood redeemed the sins of the world ... I could accept Jesus as a martyr, an embodiment of sacrifice, and a divine teacher, but not as the most perfect man ever born. His death on the Cross was a great example to the world, but that there was anything like a mysterious or miraculous virtue in it, my heart could not accept .... - Mahatma Gandhi

  2. all i can say is...that its all in your mind. if you wanna quit then be focus and determined!

I agree on what you said. For others who can't quit, you can go to the gym and workout ... at least you can keep yourself busy.

I considered smoking as a vice. It deaden's one's conscience and is often worse than drink in that it acts imperceptibly. It is a habit to get rid when once it seizes hold of a person. It is an expensive vice. It fouls the breath, discolours the teeth and sometimes even causes cancer. It is an unclean habit. - Mahatma Gandhi

  3. CAN LOVE EXIST…?

Can love exist without holding your hands or putting my arm on your shoulder?

Can love exist without embracing each other and kiss you on your forehead?

Can love exist without kissing each other but only say “Good morning,” “Good night,” “How are you” or “What’s up,” and “Are you fine / OK”?

Can love exist with someone you shared most of your life even your innermost desire, your plans in life and your family?

Can love exist without sex, without those actions that might provoke of doing it?

Can love exist without saying “I love you” but you can see it in actions, the ways I care for you, and the ways I used to put into actions the meaning of love as far as I know the meaning of love?

I believe that love can exist without these actions even the word itself that we want to say it everyday. I believe that such love can exist in such a way that people can express them as far as the meaning of love is concern. Maybe I am afraid to say those words but later on will have a hard time putting into actions. For me, it is much better to put it into actions and let them label it as love or whatever what comes up on their mind. There are many kinds of love but the highest form of love is that when you give or show your love to someone, that you don’t want something in return. And if you love a certain person you should know him/her first not that by saying “I love you” and after this “I am going to know you more.” It’s like when you love your God Almighty, you must read His words in the Bible because that’s His story. And so with the one that you love, you must know him/her well before saying those very precious words. And we must learn from our past experiences that it will not happen again. Time is gold, life’s too short and a waste of time if you spend your entire life to a wrong person.

  4. Here is my desktop. I’m running in Windows XP. As you can see there are lots of shortcuts to my desktop because it better to be this way than going to Start / Programs especially if you lots of programs installed to your laptop/desktop. These are my commonly used applications, folders, and files.

  5. oh really? hehehe.. im glad to be of service.. ;)

it helps to have a thread like this aight? ;)

anne rice? well yeah i've tried to read one, but i dont know. it was impressive yet i didnt fall inlove hehe..i find sidney sheldon better.

ikaw any suggestions for me? hehehe...

i'll try to check Tuesdays with Morrie madaming nagsasabi its a great book daw.. have u read it? i also want to check abnkkbsknpl -> im not sure if thats the right title though.. have u heard of it? kaya lang sa pinas lang ata available yan eh... sayang..

The works of Anne Rice is more on Vampires, Witches, Mummy, etc. She has its own characters on which you can read from one book to another. Just like Jack Ryan character of Tom Clancy wherein you can read him from one book to another – The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears, etc. While Anne Rice has Vampire Lestat and Armand on which I believe you already seen the movie Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned. Her other books are The Tale of the Body Thief, Memnoch, The Mummy, etc. <_<

I can recommend books of Andrew Matthews’ Being Happy and Making Friends. Making Friends is a follow-up of Being Happy. Being Happy talks on how HAPPY people think, being able to laugh at yourself, being able to forgive yourself, why people always seem to be in the right place at the right time and how you can be one of them. In short it talks more about life (my favorite subject) because life is too short. Making Friends is about developing your confidence, dealing with difficult people, how to say “No” sometimes, building happy relationships at work and at home.

  6. Sophie's World is a novel about the history of philosophy

yet the author presented, and conveyed everything there is to know regarding philosphy is brilliant and extraordinary..

why? because he used a child as his subject, as the main character who is looking and searching for meanings about life, about philosophy..

the little girl receives letters everyday (she doesnt know who sent it) and in those letters were questions, questions that are hard to answer such as... where does the world come from? or who are you? and so on... The questions were answered thru the teachings of great philosophers...

But what is more intriguing is she also receives another kind of letters, letter addressed to a different girl named Hilde. She doesnt know who Hilde is and why her mail keep turning up on her own mailbox. And you will find it out as u continue reading.. lots of plots.

it is definitely a wondrous journey of intellect and imagination that will make u see things, see life thru the eyes of a child. ;)

by the way... STEPHEN KING's books are great too...

Thanks for the info sweetpsyche. I already have it in my list to buy this coming November. I have some books of Stephen Kings and they are also cool books but I like Anne Rice compare to Stephen Kings especially her Vampire Chronicles books. :)

  7. Novels and Books I like:

    1. Lord of the Rings

    2. Harry Potter

    3. Call of the Wild

    4. Sherlock Holmes Classic Series

    5. White Fang

    ........ These are some.

Anyone read "Who moved my cheese" its a very light reading only takes half an hour. But I think its good. Simple and has many interpretations.

I already read these books – Call of the Wild and White Fang and these are great books. I don’t know if you already watched the classic movie created by Disney which was also based on this book – White Fang. It’s a great movie. :)

  8. THE ART OF HAPPINESS (A Handbook for Living)

By: HH DALAI LAMA and HOWARD C. CUTLER

Mail on Sunday quotes this as “An intriguing encounter between East and West.”

One of the world’s great spiritual leaders offers his practical wisdom and advice on how we can overcome everyday human problems and achieve lasting happiness.

I like this book and its high recommendable because it talks more about life. According to Dalai Lama, the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness. Whether one believes in religion or not, whether one believes in this religion or that religion, we all are seeking something better in life. Whether we live a day or a century, a central question always remains: What is the purpose of life? What makes our lives meaningful?

I’ve learned many things in this book on which I can apply in my every day aspects of life. Our feelings of contentment are strongly influenced by our tendency to compare. That greed is an exaggerated form of desire. One interesting thing about greed is that although the underlying motive is to seek satisfaction, the irony is that even after obtaining the object of your desire, you are still not satisfied. The true antidote of greed is contentment. If you have a strong sense of contentment, it doesn’t matter whether you obtain the object or not; either way, you are still content.

  9. i agreee!!!!! i love him.. hehehe.. im inlove with John Grisham hehe..

i too am reading THE SUMMONS right now.. hehehe...

    i love non-fiction books too..

Closing of the American Mind by Bloom

and Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder are great books..

Sophie's World is all about philosophy..

That’s cool! You are also reading THE SUMMONS. Oh by the way sweetpsyche, :boo: can you give me further info regarding the Sophie’s World book. What is this all about?

I also like non-fiction books but I am more into unknown phenomena and parapsychology. I like the books of Charles Berlitz such the:

    1. Atlantis: The Eight Continent

    2. The Bermuda Triangle

    3. World of Strange Phenomena

    4. The Dragon’s Triangle

    5. In Search of Noah’s Ark

For those who are into UFO/Alien stuff, you can consider books of Zechariah Sitchin especially the 12th Planet. Books of Zechariah Sitchin will bring you into different civilization from ancient Mesopotamia, ancient Egyptian World … from Babylonian to Sumerian … from the ancient hieroglyphics and proving that somewhere somehow aliens ruled the Earth. Zechariah can also prove to you (based from his books) his own view about the Great Flood in the Old Testament Bible. Did you know that there are many versions from different civilizations of the Great Flood?

When it comes to Eastern philosophy and beliefs, I have books of Deepak Chopra (http://www.randomhouse.com/features/chopra/index.html) and Dalai Lama.

  10. When it comes to novels, I like reading the books of John Grisham, Michael Crichton and Anne Rice. Aside from the books of these three authors, I also collect their movie version and it’s very interesting because I still like the book version compared to the movie version. My imagination when I read these books are more colorful and more exciting compared to the movie. As of now, I am now reading THE SUMMONS of John Grisham and then next will be THE KING OF TORTS.

I also read the novel of Randall Wallace which is the BRAVEHEART and when I compared it to the movie by Mel Gibson the story is quite different. I don’t know how many times I read the pocketbook version of BRAVEHEART and it really touches my heart. IdealGuy is right in his quote – “Every man dies, not every man really lives.” I hope you also know the meaning of why William Wallace says these words.

There’s an upcoming movie from the books of John Grisham and its THE RUNAWAY JURY. I already read the pocketbook version and I can’t wait to see the movie version. You can check their ads in this web site: http://www.runawayjurymovie.com/

  11. um....divorce was brought up for what purpose again?

No, I am not pro divorce.

I just don't understand why you have to stay away if you were lucky enough to be loved back by somebody you truly love.

    Ok, so you have complications.

I am confused about this. Very Much.

If i put myself in the wife's shoes, I would want the woman to die a terrible death for even thinking about taking what's mine. Of course, i would also want my husband to be loyal to me...

but if he has to ask about how he can stay away from someone..

then I no longer can call him mine.. right?

If i put myself in the other woman's shoes, as long as I feel happy, for as long as I am ok with the "situation" and understand all the rules, then I wouldn't want him to stay away from me... Future or no future.

My Life. I decide how I want to live it. If I want to live it as a man's other woman, so be it.

If i am to play the role of the kid, I would keep my mouth shut. My parents deserve to be happy, and even though it's noble to want to stay together to give me a good future.. It's not going to work. Individually, they deserve to be happy, if my father would be happier with another woman, so be it. I'm sure my mother won't be happy even if he stays with us if she knows in her heart that the only reason why he's staying is to "Keep the family together".

Lastly, if i am to play the role of the husband.. it's a matter of who is more valuable. Priorities. Do I love her as much as my wife? Is this just a passing thing? Will i tire of her soon? Will my wife ever forgive me? can i forgive myself if my wife can't?

I like your adv to this guy. You always put yourself into another shoes but you should also consider yourself. The pros and cons of the situation.

As for you Lian, these are only adv and YOU are the one in that situation. Maybe we can relate on some of the things that you experience but we haven’t experience the same degree that you have right now. Decide what’s best for you and to your family. As for me, you should find time to talk to your wife … to your kids … and to that girl especially with your decision. You should also find time to meditate on your decision. And whatever your decision … you should be firm with that decision.

  12. yep yep thats right! i got all my stuffs from there! this white guy na nanliligaw sakin(take note.. white guy na yan ha.. di naman sila nanliligaw pero nanligaw sakin), binigyan ako roxy watch worth 7,000 pesos.. wassup talaga! hayyy tapos binigyan din ako ng necklace.. pero di naman roxy! bad3p. hehe wala naman kasing brand ang necklaces :P

When it comes to necklace, I’ll give you a tip. Look for De Beers. :) You can go to this site http://www.debeers.com/ or http://www.adiamondisforever.com/.

  13. ugh. I dont really care what brand pero I usually buy roxy.. coz It's cute. 80% of my wardrobe is roxy. Pabango ko lang ang ralph lauren.. ralph lauren blue. and my shoes.. walang brand :P rubber shoes lang kasi trusted ko nike :) undies ko.. glassons.. hehe cutie kasi pang teenager :) pero cheap lang un!

I just visited the site of Roxy … I don’t know if this is the right one (www.roxy.com)… but they are all cool. Really cool!

  14. Does this mean that the brand of clothing that we are using is different to the way we choose our favorite perfume? So we can choose perfume as long as it is cool regardless if it’s made by Georgio Armani, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Cacharel, Estee Lauder, Paco Rabanne, etc.

I am using Dockers, Levis, and Wrangler brands of clothing. I choose this because they are cool and the quality of clothing is different compare to other brands. It also doesn’t fade easily as time goes by.

  15. I don’t know if this topic is already opened or already existing. Some of us here already have collections of books, pocketbooks, electronic equipment, weird stuff, etc … but what about when it comes to clothing? What do you usually prefer when it comes to brand of clothing … be it in school or at work or even during workout? :D
