  1. which one is more costly, buying a desktop as a whole or chop chop parts? what's the pros and cons between the two? It's just because im Philippine bound in a few weeks and I need a computer for my job and also games, like starcraft 2. hehe. thanks!! :)

I built my own pc from parts bought from several suppliers, it is fullfilling and satisfiying if you are able to assemble a good working unit. An advantage is that you get to choose your parts, casings, cooling system, psu, etc etc. The ultimate joy to this is it will be "your" pc, customizing detailing and modding is totally up to you. Which is cheaper? I would say almost equal if you know your suppliers. Con, hmm if you don't know what are you doing, stop and let technicians do it for you.

My Set up cost me arround 35k, i had the same spec quoted it came to arround 45k. I guess my palenke skill paid off^^.

  2. i really dont have any idea regarding computers. but im planning to buy one anytime soon. i just want a decent computer where i could type, surf and do some paper stuffs. and even play games such as starcraft 2. could anyone give me a specific specs and the price it would cost me?

by the way, i heard there are decent computers that would range from 15 to 20 thou pesos. im thinking that will also be my budget. :D

a simple gaming pc set up

go intel = i3 540, asrock H55M-LE, OCZ stealth stream II 500w, WD Blue 500 GB, GTS 450 1gb vid card, 4gb ram ddr3, stock cooler, generic casing, LG 15.5 wide screen monitor. hmm around 24k, use your old monitor should be arround 19k ( budgetary estimate, could be cheapper in actual market)

go AMD = Athlon II x4 640, Asus™ M4A87TD/USB3, Oczstealth stream II 500w, WD Blue 500gb, Hd 56701gb vid card, 4gb ram ddr3, stock cooler, generic casing. hmm also arround 19k, a plus is mobo supports sata 3 and usb 3, again just a budgetary estimate.

  3. also intel will start shipping same deffective chips again, this is according to intel that the same 6 series chips that was recalled, will be shipped soon because of "market demand" WTF?!? My 2 cents is that they (the mobo maufacturer) will RMA thier mobo as they breakdown, or hopes they will find other way to fix the intel problem. kawawa consumer in the long run.

  4. yeah I know, it felt like that too but it was going to be temporary.

researching parts to replace the AMD 1090T.

will be going Sandy Bridge i7-2600k shortly

Intel just reported issues with the sandy bridge, sata degradation which reduces the performance of the sata 3 overtime. hopefully they resolve this problem. dami brands affected.

  5. any suggestion for a gaming laptop here and how much is it? can you also include the specs? yung d naman masyadong mahal..yung ranging from 25k - 30k cguro?

So many laptops now a days, look for the i5 or i7 cores, however this would burst your budget, msi has 2 laptops with dedicated 1 gig ddr3 vid should go really close to your budget.

  6. i went and ate at chinatown bestfood in banawe, the place was remodeled, the buffets are on the second floor, good food, i loved thier curry rice, as for food variants, may japanese table sila sushi, tempura, as well as peking duck station, there were crabs, 3 kinds of soup, for kids 3 kinds of chicken, drinks are self serve, and ample desert bar( make your own sundae). We asked for a cup of plain rice for my picky kid, they gladly gave us a cup at no extra charge.
