  1. Haven't been diving also. My last dive was back in November, 2009. I need to dive a LOT this year

bher2: My suggestion is you take classes with some friends, para mas mura. If you're 100% sure you want to get certified, you can PM me. I know a good instructor

  2. I have to agree with the above post. Clothes in hongkong are still a bit pricey even if you haggle to death. But they have more variety. I suggest you go to HK during their shopping festivals so that prices will be lower.

When it comes to electronics, don't hesitate getting them there. I recently bought a nikon d40 for 24k here in the Philippines. Last week, my girlfriend was in hongkong and told me that d40's there cost only 19,200 equivalent in peso. tsk.. i should have waited. But try getting those that have international warranty.

  3. The pictures above show the effect of aperture size at the same shutterspeed. As the aperture closes (as the f number goes higher), less light is allowed to enter, causing the pictures to become dark.

But you'll also see the effect of aperture on the depth of field. At f3.5, the trees in the background are blurred. At f5.6, they have become clearer.

fire_breather: ganda ng garden niyo bro :D

  4. As to your question on when to use which f-number, it actually depends. Do you want a shallow or deep depth of field? Are you shooting in low light conditions? What effect do you want to achieve?

Try practicing using Aperture priority on your camera. Shoot the same subjects at different f-numbers. Analyze the results.

  5. Yup, if I'm not mistaken, that is called number-coding. Sobrang mahal and very time consuming. But I'm sure it will be worth everything in the end.

Me, I have a 1969 mustang grande waiting to be restored. Wala pa ako extra money. Inuna ko muna other hobbies ko: diving and photography, which are both expensive hobbies.

Demolitionman: nice mustang bro. Where did you have it restored?

  6. The thing with the 0% installment plan sa malls is that the interest is already included in the base price kaya mahal siya. I suggest that if you're buying a cam, just get one from hidalgo.

If you don't have cash, just use your credit card (hidalgo shops accept cc payments) then call the credit card company a day or two after, and tell them you want your recent purchase converted into 12mos deferred payment. Although may interest siya, mas mababa pa din ang total niya compared to buying sa malls.
