  1. Short Answer: Chalk

When I was doing a body building regimen, I wore gloves. After researching for a better routine, I switched to Power Lifting/Weightlifting exercises - the basic barbell lifts - and never used anything.

When I went over 315lbs in Deadlifts, I decided to use Chalk. Chalk plus a combination of Alternating Grips for the heaviest sets I was targeting.

    • Calcified carpals due to breaking in right wrist
    • (Straightened neck bones due to dick massage therapist pushing too hard)
    • Separated Chest plate
    • Pulled right hamstring + lower back
    • Right hip flexor pain
    • Left hip flexor pain
    • Weakened Right triceps (don't know why)

Majority of these injuries were due to

    • Poor planning
    • Lack of rest and sleep
    • Bad nutrition

At one point, I got into a fight during Arm day - Biceps and Triceps. After that, I was searching for a better program to do. Basic Barbell lifts are the way to do things. The Per Body part split exercises are actually for Advanced lifters. If I could be like Pyrros Dimas or Lu Xiaojun, that's good enough for me.

Right now, I'm resting my left hip flexor.

  2. Can't really think of something unusual.

I'm into a woman who faces adversity and never backs down with whatever life throws at her. I met someone like that and circumstances just doesn't favor me but isn't something I'd share why.

Plus imagine what women go through on adaily basis. It's like, wow! I'm just impressed.

Of course, a pretty face is only just a pretty face. Once she starts talking and I find her empty headed, I can distance myself.

I think I'm the unusual. lol

  3. Hmm, if you get a rejection, you'll learn how to cope with things better. Go for it.

But that's just my take on things with life and at work.

Like, you send money to her parents and all for up keep of their small business then you eventually learn she has someone else or isn't really into you; I think just be a person, a man, and not let that rage take over because it really isn't something to waste your time on. (The key thing is learning your boundaries or discovering them eventually.)

If you get rejected, that's a good thing because you actually did something as opposed to not doing anything at all. I don't get swooned over by someone telling me they got perfect marks on everything.

Therapist or a lady in a KTV - I find them the same. They're all there for common reasons and the number 1 reason I've heard from people, which I think you already know, is that its for their families. I'm friends with a family of one of the women I fell for long ago till now. Just not her. lol And even if we meet, it wouldn't be the same story as before.

Usually, we'd all get attracted to someone by how they look. Learning their story adds a certain degree of emotions that you somehow get yourself either invested on the lady or just place a boundary between you and her telling yourself you know "better" or that you just say it to yourself anyway.

But there was one time that I frequented somebody that when she suddenly reciprocated I was way past the feeling.

Women who decide to be a therapist for an MTC-type Spa do it for a reason and not for fun or to meet the man of her dreams. To me, they're women who loved, is loving or had loved someone and doing what they do make them more numb to feelings and closed to whoever they meet as they probably think "this shithead just wants to get in my pants". It might take more effort to get her to like you to eventually fall for you. You invest.

I'd also agree with the analogy someone just made about an actress and a therapist. Love, in this case, would be an equal rights thing. What ever standard you put in place is yours. And fcuk society anyway, which is really crap right now.

PS: You don't like my post? You feel like bashing my skull?

    Hold on.

I'll give you the address to my company and you can start with my former boss all the way up the hierarchy and go on a shooting spree. ;)

  4. This is for older people, age 25 up

    Testostrogrow

Pag tumatanda bumababa ang testosterone level natin mga lalaki, So it is good to supplement with this.

Increase in testosterone may promote lean mass, weight loss and enchance sexual libido.

I take this 3 times a day with meals

I'm 33 - I drink milk (lactose-free or say lactase ladden) at average of 2 liters a day and max of 4 liters. Doing basic squat, presses, deadlifts, power cleans and it seems my testosterone is spiking based on my initial research and what's happening to me

    • longer and thicker body hair - back, arms, hamstrings, neck
    • pimples

As a solution to the ED part, after I went through burn-out due to multiple jobs and lack of sleep (I had many cases where by BP was always 140/100 and total ED s@%t), I made rest an integral part of my daily routine then I decided to go back to the gym. At home, it seems regular use of your hand promotes a healthier you on top of a positive outlook in life.

From 130 lbs, I've gained weight through eating and eating the right kind of food. Adding milk and increasing the weight I lifted in the gym proved to be a potent duo in helping me gain weight. Right now, at 5'8" I'm 160lbs though I really don't look like it, aint bulky.

Ah, don't forget rest. You grow when you sleep.

  5. As long as I wear jogging pants, I don't really care about the top.

I've scrapped my shins from all the Deadlift, Power Cleans, and Snatches.

How I wish to find a gym in Alabang where there are bumper plates and a padded floor where you can drop em plates.

As for the foot wear, I've gone bare foot twice; I'll settle for leather shoes if I can but the closest I got to that are my Bellville boots and my Chucks.

  6. if possible do em all!!!

never stop till it hurts or till you can't move it anymore..ahhahah

Um, you don't get stronger lifting till you can do a rep anymore.

Usually, rep ranges below 5 with proper weight is geared towards strength training routines.

For those wanting aesthetics, reps higher than 6 or below 15 does the job.

Anything beyond 16 to 20 is for endurance.

Above that is something Lon Kilgore and Mark Rippetoe define as being crazy. :)

  7. http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/StrengthStandards.htm

If you're a Novice, like me, try not to do any isolation. It's just plain worthless.

If you're a Novice, like me, don't do any periodization. It's utterly worthless.

If you're a Novice, like me, do compounds at low poundages because you'll actually feel all the other muscles working.

If you're a Novice, like me, lift in increments and don't do pyramiding on your working sets.

I've been off of the gym for more than a year and it's so nice to be back. I just love doing compounds. My next project after 10 weeks would be 20-rep squat. After that would be a 4xBW Deadlift.

  8. I've read previous posts and some of which support working out before going to work. Even the doctor I asked mentioned the same to me.

But what has worked for me with the routine I'm doing is doing it after work. I did Rippetoe's original Starting Strength routine till my recovery went from 2 days to more than a week; I'm doing Wichita Falls strength training routine now. Each and after workout I felt I wanted to sleep in the gym after all the post-gym things I need to do. Traveling is hard because I also would like to sleep. What ruins my sleep after that is if the neighbors are noisy.

  9. in order of importance:

    - good diet

    - strength training

    - rest/recovery

I'll go with this post. Strength Training improves your immune system. If you can't afford going through a good diet, supplementing with vitamins will do.

PS: For those who don't have a clue, Strength training is different from Body building.

  10. ...if you have a good friend who you know can be brutally honest then all the better...

    Could work... may not work...

But if there was one thing I'm sure of, we all know the answer ourselves. We just can't let go and we seem to be in cloud nine thinking that there's this remote possibility that she would be asking you to be with her... kinda like the forever thing. But then again, I'm not saying that it can never be a possibility.

I felt like "this is it" for me when I met this woman. It just felt so right and seemed like everything about the two of us was compatible - from the Lunar to the western Astrological signs - we are like perfect partners.

But there was this little voice inside of me telling me that I need to let her go. I wanted to, I tried to. I even told her indirectly to the point I just had to be direct with her about it.

I guess the only thing I needed was a little heartbreak...

I need to get myself together first - I went to her place, stayed there, spent time with her family. Heck, when her cousin asked who I was she replied that I was a close friend and that I'm nearing to what her cousin was thinking of me (then when I looked at her, as if I can't believe what she said, she gave me a light bump on the head). We were being merry and all one early morn and then suddenly I noticed her looking at me and I knew what was coming next. The weird part was that when I came back a week after, it was as if she never wanted me to step foot at her place; I felt we were like very much apart. But before that, she was looking for me after she knew I passed by her place a day before. Though I got a kiss (and I still do remember it) on a very special night, the feeling of being so ecstatic and then in sudden agony was something I never realized I'd be able to take things in stride if I never experienced being so heartbroken in the past.

A week after, we exchanged SMS messages. But this was it, it had to be over. I knew she'd also want that so I just made sure it'll be over. Right now, she went to the point of using a different number. As far as we're both concerned, we're better friends than anything else.

It's been a couple of years now since I first step foot in a club. I do know I've made some friends who are GRO's. What I noticed about those GRO's who are in a relationship is that it's not as different if you compare them with a woman not working in a club - a woman loves and she gives her all. Like any woman, she'd be physically attracted but it doesn't stop there as she tries to figure out if you're Mr. Right within a couple of nano seconds. And like any woman, the computation of how to know Mr. Right is almost the same. Personally, it might just be a very weighty on the financial aspect.

You'd know when it's real. You know if it's just for fun. You would also know when it's getting serious. The smallest things are the indicators. And I believe they've always been. So, what's yours?

You don't really need someone to tell you straight in your face that she's the one or that she's just enjoying you as a cash cow. You already know.

  11. Hmm, after having problems waking up with having the right side of my stomach hurt I quickly stopped from my drinking binge and it has been this way for almost 9 years now. I attributed the problem to too much alcohol.

You clearly have a good post, BizMan.

    PS:

Incontinence is a word used to refer to both lack of fecal and urinary control. This is also used to refer to lack of control of one's urges. Pardon for looping.

    PPS:

My co-worker just had his stones pulverized at Asian Hospital's radiation room and he isn't a binge drinker. I'd have to ask what he's diet is.

  12. question is, whats so special about any browser?

it's only a browser... they're getting more and more bloated trying to be special.

Depends on how much browsing you do at work or at home. When you tend to open up more than individual browsers, a tabbed browser becomes a solution. But to some point, I like Windows explorer's grouping function instead of the tabs - either for 7 or any WinOS. Really useful.

If you want a browser that does torrents, try Opera. Again, it's just a choice and/or preference.

Another factor could be the browser's performance. Try SRWIron - an opensource copy of Chrome. The best thing about it is that it doesn't peek through the data you use and it's very light. It's just that it suffers from the same problems Chrome suffers.

  13. yep... lam ko po yan sir... ive been training for 5 years already.... naghahanap lang ako ng bagong challenge at lifting heavy weights yun. im 5'11 and weigh 210 lbs... pero not all muscles hehehe... 250-350 lbs sa squats plus ung weight ng body ko all account para mas lalo ako gumamit ng belt... eto kasi pantanggal ko ng stress sa trabaho ko... animator po ako in profession.. hobby ko lang talaga tong weights.... ive been lifting at reading training regimens long enough para malaman ko kung ano talaga mainam para d ako magkainjury.. anyway thanks sa signature mo sir....

Hmm, I'm a network engineer/IT consultant/IT trainer. There are times I have multiple jobs in a day for days. Right now, I've quit all of my sideline to focus on my new job role in my company.

When to use a belt: I bet that's when you go past 2xBW for squats, depends really. I've managed to do 2.2xBW for Deadlifts and I didn't need a belt. Right now, I've developed strength but my muscles aren't like before - I've stopped training for around 5 months now. If I wanted to lift the weights I lifted before right now, I might just need to use a belt. So my workaround is to lift weights that aren't that heavy going up to stimulate my muscles to the form I had them before so that I can lift heavy again without using a belt.

Mark Henry holds the title for lifting the heaviest RAW squat - no belts, no suits. I also saw this Chinese dude who deadlifted 400 lbs without a belt.

Going back to the topic, I'd only wear sando if I'm lifting using an Olympic bar for squats. My goal is to do Back Squats lifting 315lbs @ 1x20.

Hmm, I guess you're the second animator I know. ^___^

  14. Shorts, Running sando, tsaka Chucks. hehe. Maganda nga kapit ng chucks sa floor.

Yup, Chuck Taylor. Or maybe dry my feet and go barefoot. Did that a few times and entailed more balance.

Jogging pants when doing Deadlifts. Sando is nicer for top.

  15. I've only heard it played in KTV bars but the song is bassy and has a nice beat before you hear a squeaky sound in the song. Also, vocals used seem to be that of a person having a deep modulated voice saying,

    I tried . . . f#&k you.

    Pardon for the words.

Any one know the song? It would be a very nice gym music while doing heavy lifts.

  16. for exam takers, avoid brain dumps, it will only make you "paper certified" read practice from actual routers if possible, kung walang routers, use simulators

pa plug kung ok lang since i cannot post an ad pa due to posting limitations

we are offering ccna1-4 academy training / 5 day bootcamp

1 router 1 student po sya

instructor is ccie written/ccnp/ccai - so the course ware is allowed by cisco

kindly visit us at http://www.diosphilippines.com/cisco.php or call 4398115 / 09213211005

    thanks po

20+ post pa lang ako.... hehehehe

CCNA is soooo basic - you don't need an actual router. Plus the exam is disappointing in that aspect. The only thing worth learning in CCNA is VLSM, CIDR, VTP, STP, PVSTP, basic routing skills. Nothing that a simulator can't do. If you want more, then sims won't work and that's the time you'd use an real router or an emulator.

instructor is ccie written/ccnp/ccai - so the course ware is allowed by cisco

I doubt Cisco will "allow" that. Only Certified Learning Partners, a sponsored organization, and CNAP CCAI's teaching in an Academy center is allowed for an official Cisco course delivery - that's unless he has access to CNAP and illegally enroll the participants.

I just don't like the advertisement. I think we have a section for that.

  17. Try looking for Hiren's boot disk or download GetNFTS data.

Yes, your files might still be there intact. Just don't overwrite it with data yet.

Yo don't need to go to an Internet shop for that. Also, you need a spare HDD to cache the data while retrieving it.

  18. kahit ano basta walang sleeve tsaka cotton shorts..... may supporter ang belt sempre... kakatakot magkaspinal injury eh...

You don't really need a belt unless you lift insane heavy weights and that you're trying to break records.

It also depends on how you were trained or if you were trained at all.

I do deadlifts and backsquats without a belt. That's my difference - I have a better core structure than most people. I focus on basics. If you lift crazy and you don't really know how to do it then I suggest you need to hire a PT or go through whatever you can find in the Internet to help you. Start with Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength. Excellent read. Then you could follow the link in the my sig. I don't own them. I'm just promoting an intelligent way to health and fitness.

  19. Any opinions or suggestions?

What is an ideal time to hit the gym considering one holds a regular eight-hour job? Is it advisable to do so before or after one's work schedule?

After work, if you're thinking of serious lifting.

But you need to work out only an hour and no more than that.

Since I think you're a beginner, just stick with the basics - bench press, deadlift, back squat, military press, either a pendlay row or power cleans. They build insane strength plus muscles you develop are denser and not flabby like others.

Progress by adding 5 lbs every workout session.

Do not go into a per body part routine - you're no advanced lifter.

I do not see any logic going to the gym before work unless you're there for just some aerobics routine.

  20. i would like to correct you on this matter, actually the owner of Rivan Systems Robert Victor came from MFI. he was a student originally at MFI and then later on became an instructor, went out, teached in other bootcamp centers and created his own school. Try to ask him if he's familiar with these MFI instructors: Jeff Agruda, Bong Tanada, Jojo Baldeo, Opel Galvez.

almost all cisco instructors in the Philippines have their roots originating in MFI, including Mapua which is previously a local academy of MFI (MFI is a regional academy) :)

    Well said, bro!

Magagaling ang mga taga MFI. I'd rather recommend you folks to taking up CCNA via CNAP then anything else. Rivan would tell you that you have reviewers to read and it'll help you pass. Those are exam dumps.

Now, if you're after true learning in Cisco, nothing beats CNAP.

validity ng CCNA ay 3 years, and it will expire you need to take any cisco exams to renew it.

Not any Cisco exam. Only a 642 exam of a CCIE written exam can renew your CCNA besides taking up CCNA again.

  21. also...beware of a download called ANTIVIRUS 2009...don't install it, its a virus...

heads up to all MTC techies... :D

Almost all freely downloadable shareware apps I know have a Trojan embedded in it.

    How would you know?

Easy, ask your techie friend to run Process Explorer on most-likely-Windows machine. Your downloaded application turns PURPLE in the monitor.

That's a sign that your application has a "packed" application running in it. Some legit software run as a packed application. But most are a tell tale sign that its a malware.

Get an MD5 checksum of your downloaded app, compare, if the CRC doesn't match for the same version of software you downloaded from the legit site, it's hooked with a malware.

Oh, why do I know? I've worked for an AV software company before. I do this for a living - cleaning the infection. ^^

(Did you ever think it was infecting other people? Not!!!)
