  1. Thanks for response. Yup the swiss is an auto. Chronos was quoting the Zodiac at 10,450. The Swiss at 22,500.

Will make a carefull comparative of the three before purchase.

If you can get the Zodiac Oceanaire automatic at that price then grab it! Last I checked it cost almost 25k! The Monster is, of course, the best value for money though. You may want to consider the mother companies of each, Zodiac is now owned by the Fossil company, Swiss Army by the Swatch group, Seiko (of course) by the Seiko Co. The latter two have a much longer tradition of watchmaking.

  2. ^^^Oris would set you back around PhP20k at the least. Ball, the cheapest I've seen was around PhP35k. Tudors are even more expensive.

A nice Seiko Knight or Samurai on the other hand would cost around PhP6-8k and last you at least a decade.

  3. Has anyone scuba dive with their gshocks? How deep did you go?

Don't have a g-shock, but I have gone down to 50 ft with my Casio edifice. I suppose the g-shock can withstand similar preasures.

  4. you're talking about Claudio the Italian guy....

wala na yung restaurant nya, pina upa nya nlang

sa mga muslim yung place, ginawang mga tindahan

    ng souvenires...

sayang nga yung restaurant nya...super sarap talaga ng pizza and

    pasta nya

Bad trip! Anyway, gotta plan a trip to Galle, been so looong!

  5. Are Rolexes worth their price? If you ask me as a watch enthusiast, I'd say no. Many other posters have already explained why:

    1. Their movements are nothing extraordinary, you can get equal or even better quality for a fraction of the price. And in the past years Rolex has not come up with any significant improvement unlike Omega with their co-axial movement or even Seiko and their spring drive.

    2. Maintainance is a nightmare, P5000 just for cleaning! And the cost of parts is absurd!

    3. Because of the proliferation of fakes, people tend to doubt the authenticity of your Rolex unless you're known to be really wealthy.

    On the positive side:

    1. No other watch brand comes close to the name recognition and prestige of Rolex. Onlly true watch enthusiasts would recognize the pedigree of a Patek or Breguet.

    2. Few watches hold their value so well. This is not to say you can sell your old Rolex for a profit, but years later, it'll still be a very expensive item.

    3. The case designs are timeless, though I suppose I'm biased since I tend towards classic designs.

My stand: I wold never buy a Rolex, but I understand why many people yearn to own one. If the timepiece gives you real pleasure and you can afford it, it can't be considered a bad buy.

  6. what is the cheapest Rolex watch one can get at a reputable dealer?

the airking was, i think, specifically designed with the "low-end" rolex buyer in mind. thus the lack of a datewheel to keep the price down. you'll find a number of these being sold by repuutable dealers on ebay.ph.

  7. Saan sa Aklan? parang boracay din yung buhangin? Paano pag kakain meron makakainan?

The coastal area between Ibajay and Numancia. The sand isn't as white a Boracay's but very fine. Some of the resorts have restos.

Will try to get the names and exact locations of the beaches. Sana di pa sila nadidiscover ng masyadong maraming turista.

  8. I used to be a heavy smoker and a regular gym goer. My weightlifting was hardly affected by my smoking, I could still keep up with just about anyone else with regard to amount of weight and number of reps. When I got older and figured endurance was more important than big muscles I shifted to a cardio program. Bam! Ten minutes on a threadmill and I thought I was gonna faint! I've since quit smoking and can now run ten kilometers in a little more than an hour. Point is, smoking will affect your aerobic (weight loss) excercise ability, but not necessarily your anaerobic (muscle building) activity. Our captain in the powerlifting team back in college was a chain smoker, but could lift more than anyone else on the team.
