260 kph many times along SCTEX in my C36 and 250 kph in the SLK320 until the speed-limiter cuts the juice. There are many long straight stretches there and the paving is excellent so one can maintain a good clip but be sure your car is in top shape and that your TIRES are Z-rated before testing the aerodynamic properties of your car. Best time was in at Tipo Gate 8:03 am and out of the Clark Logistics gate by 8:20 am hehe.
Hey I'm NOT advocating speeding along public roads here. Be careful of small animals crossing the expressway, I saw some dogs and one time a group of goats loitering along the road. Also the patrol cars have wised up, now they check your IN and OUT times at the toll booth and if its less than 36 minutes then they KNOW that you had been naughty. One friend got a ticket that way and there really is no way to get out of it.

I replaced my trusty 6600GT with a Leadtek PX8800 GTS 320. It is fast but the never-ending problems with the Nvidia drivers for Vista are a drag!

Yes, diluted vinegar works well in getting rid of water stains. My technique is to put soaked old newspapers on the windshield and let it stay there for 30 minutes or so. Rinse then polish with a windshield polishing creme.

The new Camry is tempting but the new Accord looks gorgeous!

Avoid jack-rabbit starts. This is murder on the drivetrain and wastes gas. Better to roll off and then accelerate to desired speed to blend in with the traffic.
Keep at least 3 car-lengths distance between your car and the one in front of you when driving fast and judge your speed in curves. If too fast, brake before entering the curve not while in it and then smoothly accelerate coming out of the curve.

The Accord is a fine car to drive (esp. the 3-litre model). But sadly, it loses in terms of looks. The 2006/07 version is the butt-lift version and all I can say about it is :thumbsdownsmiley: :thumbsdownsmiley: :thumbsdownsmiley:
As for the Camry, the car looks really good. But its not a driver's car (even with the 3.5-litre model). Handling issues.
In the end, its about even. If one were to choose between these two cars and the sole criteria was is "presence", the Camry wins handsdown.
Yeah, I agree. The original Accord rear looks like an old Buick and when they butt-lifted it, it looks like an old E-class! Too bad they can't properly complement the supermodel looks of the front of the car. The Camry's styling is ok but nothing Earth-shaking, exactly correct for the role.
I am pleasantly surprised at the performance of these cars. The AV6 with 244HP and the Camry with its 277HP - that's pretty amazing considering that these are really middle-of-the-road sedans, your average grocery-getter. You can drive them all day in heavy traffic with no worries about overheating, breakdowns or huge gas bills. I mean hey, Those numbers used to be the realm of musclecars! The old 289 CID HiPo Mustang of my youth only put out 271 HP and that was with with a great big gas-guzzling Holley 4-barrel carb and drum brakes! Many a Civic/Lancer/Mazda3/etc will fall unwitting victim in stoplight drags to these sedate-looking sedans, believe me they are quick!
Ahh progress...I love it! :thumbsupsmiley:

I have an 06 Accord 3.0L V6 and have recently tested the new 3.5L Camry. Both cars deliver good acceleration but the Accord still has the edge although the Camry is not far behind. The only substantial change between the 06 and the 07 Accord is a revised rear-end and the twin tailpipes are now horizonal and chromed. The interior of the Camry is more refined and the ride is much softer/smoother unlike the Accord's suspension which can best be described as sharp and taut.
The AV6 accelerates 0-100 in 7 secs, quite startling for a medium-sized family sedan. I wasn't able to test the Camry's time because the sales person beside me would throw a fit if I did hehe, but with 277HP it should be quick.

I use an old XDA II and an N95

The NLEX is well paved and even has good night lighting. The toll fee is reasonable and the road-side assistance response is satisfactory. Complaints? They should field more patrol cars to order slower vehicles off the fast lane and they should increase the speed limit to 120 kph.

For my C36 only Petron BLAZE (RON 96) will do because of the car's minimum requirement (RON 98) then I add 2 bottles of Octane Booster per tankful
For my Jap cars Petron XCS or Shell unleaded
I mostly choose the newest gas station around because their tanks will be newer and hopefully there are less contaminants swirling down there with the fuel

Fastest speed? I bounce my MBenz C36 AMG off its 255 kph speed limiter many times along NLEX at night, and also by day before the enforcers wised up and started using radar guns to catch speeders. This car has a sweet spot from 3600 RPM up and accelerates like crazy from 160-250 kph.
In my Accord V6 only up to 230kph or so then the speed limiter steps in and cuts off the juice. Fierce acceleration from 0-150 in 3rd gear but once it shifts to 4th and 5th its 'leisurely' but will hit the limiter just the same.
The Jazz hits 160 kph but it takes sooo long a needs a favorable tail wind hehe
