@sting07 - yep just join in, no prob. ive put the venue on my previous posts. :) bout the hair, that was long time ago, back in college, it was djibril cisse-inspired. thats how hardcore i can get for liverpool, haha. (though i followed ljunberg hairdo back in HS with the colored hairspary and gel, lol.

@atwistedbrainian - nah, wasnt able to play. perhaps this weekend, hehe. btw, saw ur post about futsal in admu 6pm, how much to play there, whos ur contact? :)

@knoll1234 - cool! weve got a hammers fan here. now thats a rarity. we have a toon fan here as well. anyone up for bolton or wolves? haha

    @sting07 - football bro. :D

  3. pwede ba form tayo informal team for pick-up games? havent played din since i went into clerkship and formal training.

sure man, come join us at sundays 1) esteban IS, pasong tamo ext. 9am, and 2) admu, 4pm, HS field beside moro lorenzo. look for me, deo. :D

  4. How much ang laro dito? Tsaka, until what time naman? Tagal na akong hindi nakakapaglaro e. Kaya lang, wala akong team. I just wanted to play. Puwede ba yun?

il try bro. too expensive e. hehehe.

  5. well i do hope they bag some silverware this season. And I do hope they would bring home their 10th European Cup Trophy! :) By the way, what team do you support?

liverpool. ever since the houllier days. bout u?

  6. oh yes. Real Madrid opens their Champions League Campaign with a 2-0 win over Ajax. :) I hope Mourinho steers them to their 10th European Cup Trophy this year! Hala Madrid!!!

saw this match. real madrid was playing an exhibition the whole 90 mins. i loved how mourihno was able to fit in the team quickly and gel all his superstars together fast. i wouldnt be surprised if this version of the galacticos won some silverware this era around.

  7. argh, mascherano.. nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

yah, re your point on mourinho battling with guardiola. 2 best teams as usual, at least for the past 5 years. the difference is now how will mourinho quickly adapt to the spanish game, and fixture list, and at the notably at the same time the egoism of the galacticos of real madrid. its a whole new challenge altogether for jose. guardiola has the upperhand here, esp as you mentioned with mascherano filling the hole, hes the best at the moment. though im not a barca fan, i expect to see barca win more silverware, on all fronts.

being a liverpool fan, with the quality of signings hodgson has brought, plus the winning attitude of tottenham and the money of man city, i expect them to finish 6th, sad to say. only a miracle can make them come back to the usual top 4. nevertheless, theyl never walk alone..

the addition of mascherano to my fave barca is an intriguing prospect.

some claim that it will make barca invincible. maybe. but looking at its line-up barca does not have adequate cover in defence with milito serving as back-up up to spanish internationals pique and puyol.

what do you think? will mourinho wrestle the crown from guardiola this time just like last time in champions league.

i hate to think about it by madrid has far more adequate players in cases of injury despite barca having a more established team and bolstered by spectacular additions of villa and mascherano.

  8. yeah, hopefully the others would come out. Been awhile since i heard from you too, bro. No shame if you were not active last season with the way the liverpool ship was sailing. I mean look at us, we we're in the coke league for crying out loud. Hopefully, we get to stay up these season, thats my only wish for newcastle. To settle back into the EPL. Good luck to everyone's team this season, looks like its going to be dirty on the top. Cant wait!

hehe yeah, just made that as a lame excuse. but re NU, was quite shocked to see them back again. glad to see a familiar championship side again back into the EPL. i bid them good luck, its going to be a stormy season for them, knowing now that the balance of power has been shifted from 4 to 7(now aston villa gone, o neil just resigned). its going to be tough for bottom clubs to grab those essential 3 points.

giving some analysis onto the NU lineup, ive noticed theyve retained their basic skeletal framework in

    26 Tim Krul (G)

    6 Mike Williamson (D)

    2 Fabricio Coloccini (D)

    16 Ryan Taylor (D)

    12 Danny Simpson (D)

    10 Wayne Routledge (M)

    7 Joey Barton (M)

    8 Danny Guthrie (M)

    17 Alan Smith (F)

    23 Shola Ameobi (F)

    20 Leon Best (F)

others are good championship players, but squad players when going into the EPL. heard recent news that sol campbell was just drafted. but if this is NU's best signing so far, (btw, campbell has a huge gut, way past his heydays) then they cant do much. I think the manager must get a creative player at least in the middle; bartons theyre best player in the creative dept, but not consistent. 4 days to go. but i hope NU will surprise ManU this tuesday. fantasy managers are already gearing up some ManU players in theur squad, likewise with Chelsea and WestBrom.

good luck to us, both in real and fantasy. hehe. cheers!

  12. its shaping up to be the most wide-open world cup in decades.

the world cup is just a year away and after watching brazil squeek by south africa (ranked 70+ in the world) with a late dani alves goal, all the major nations are struggling.

spain, who in my opinion and almost everyone's, is the best team in the world loses 2-0 to the usa. in one of the biggest upsets ever, the biggest shock was not that spain lost - but the fact that they were outplayed by the americans. maybe the european championship was a fluke: spain, the team with the most talent, will choke when it matters most.

brazil - i'm not convinced. yes they've been playing well and have reached the final of the confederations cup and will likely win it on sunday, but they lack that cutting edge in front of goal. luis fabiano is a quality forward. but is he a world cup winning striker? robinho and kaka provide the creativity but they need that predator in the mold of ronaldo or romario. surprisingly though, they have probably the best keeper and defender in the world in julio cesar and lucio.

italy is in shambles. cannavaro is too old and chiellini has not stepped up. the confederations cup has showed they are an aging team and they need to find the new generation. luca toni is not cut for the international game.

germany - what happened to ballack? they're still a solid team but no one is scared of them anymore.

argentina is another team with loads of talent but they're even in danger of not qualifying. messi, aguero and tevez is probably the most fearsome frontline in football but it just hasn't clicked.

france? just look at their qualifying games. they have not recovered from losing zidane.

so it leaves the dutch and the english. i believe these two nations will be the strongest contenders for the cup. of course, anything can happen in a year. we might even see an african winner. who knows? the fact is, the other nations have caught up.

i agree. but this should serve as a lesson for both spain and brazil. theyll bounce back stronger at the world cup proper where it matters the most. now there are chances for 2nd rate teams such as uruguay, greece, russia, cameroon, and australia to take advantage of this.

Im not really a world cup person, as clubs appease me more with their mix. but i always vouch for underdogs, aside from watching brazil (whoever doesn watch them, theyre the globetrotters of football). i hope south africa does something at least, if not cameroon. of course

england, on the other hand, should do something in the end, rather than be proud of their undefeated campaign so far with capello. i still think theyre not a world cup winning team with their lineup. foreigners are invading their domestic league hindering youth development. same same for me with them losing on the quarterfinals, if not at the knockoutstages. same case with the dutch team.

but heck, who knows, this is football. anything can happen.

  13. portsmouth's glen johnson has signed with liverpool for 36million pounds (parang lugi ata liverpool dito ah, parang overpriced siya..)..

man city's daniel sturridge has signed with chelsea, man city wants 10 million but chelsea will only pay 3mil for the striker..

aston villa gk stuart taylor has signed for man city as shay given's back-up gk..

west ham has loaned chilean striker luis jimenez from inter milan..

austria forward marko arnautovic has signed with inter milan..

man utd are targeting douglas costa, the brazilian attacking midfielder from gremio will cost the red devils, 20 million pounds..nilmar, another brazilian midfielder is also in manutd's sights..the red devils have also been reported to target atletico madrid's sergio arguero for 45 million pounds..

    :)

    hi eron,

i dont know where you are getting your sources from, but johnson is not worth 36 million pounds. he is worth 17m.

for that price tag, he is worth the deal, keeping in mind the rules of champs league of keeping a minimum no. of english players and the fact that hes an intl regular.
