  1. Will E10 warrant bad effects to your engine ?

technically and realistically, you have to check and confirm that your vehicle is set to take in hybrid fuel mixtures; and along those same lines - up to how much of a mixture your vehicle can take.

i run my 00 expedition on e10, but that is with a) knowledge that Ford engines from the mid-90's have been built to take in hybrid fuels, including ethanol - to up to a 30 percent mixture in some engines; and B) knowledge that Ford Triton truck engines like that on the expedition can take low octane fuel grades, up to as low as 70 octane. In other words, the engine isn't picky.

bmw's as well, up to as far back as the late 80's, can take e10 on all their engine grades. am a member of the bmw car club, and know of a some who tried. of course we still prefer petron blaze (petron is an official sponsor of the club).

some engines are pickier, or simply not optimized for it. this can't be felt immediately, nor will it have any immediate ill effects, but it can cause complications in the long run on sensitive sensors and technical parts affecting crank sensors, electronic valve timing controls, electronic fuel injectors and fuel mixture controls. the very first effects will be felt in the idling and combustion of the engine.

    hope this helps...

OH, and just to quickly add - just so this doesnt become OT:

Try the Jetti Gasoline Station along Macapagal near MOA. I find it cheaper, and drop by when am in the area.

Also try Caltex along Shaw Boulevard, near the Rosal Motel on Canley. (I swear I was in the area for the GAS Station) :)

  2. how bout the toyota avalon? meron ba sa pinas?

    Nope..Sorry Joshua Tree...

And i dont think they have plans of bringing in the Avalon anytime soon.

And to answer your question a step further:

The Toyota line in the Philippines is as follows...

VIOS - (a 1.3 to 1.5 litre sub-compact from the Echo family line, but with a butt)

ALTIS - (the 1.6 litre compact - replaces the Corolla brand)

CAMRY - (the mid-size sedan category entrant, but the version sold here comes with all amenities to qualify as an executive car/luxury car. so in the US it would be the fully-loaded version - like the GXE of the Altima and Maxima)

CROWN - no longer carried on the main line as its full-size sedan. it is still available and sold only by order

    Other Toyotas are...

RAV4, REVO, HILUX, HIACE, LAND CRUISER, PRADO, PREVIA

    Hope that helps!

    Hondas sold here are:

CITY, CIVIC, ACCORD, CRV and the ODYSSEY

We do not carry the full-size Legend, nor the two-door Prelude.

  3. :P tossing my 2 centavos in this room:

comparing civics and altises are not the same thing as comparing mid-size and luxury vehicles though....and when the time comes to put your money and company car-plan on the line to get a 1.2M car theres much more to consider than chicks and awards. hmm, okay - so ill probably consider the chicks

from someone who does have a honda, nissan and a ford though...

believe me - there is no chic preference for hondas.

its how you carry the car, and how the car is as well. ;)

trust me. am not talking from desire.

cars have been in and out of the family since i was a kid.

and i do love cars myself. so ive pretty much been there and done that.

i know a couple of people who score amazingly with

a Mazda (Miata), a Nissan (Bluebird), and a Mitsubishi (Adventure + leather seats, wood trim and lcd)...heheheh

so back to the accord and the camry...

the accord has the benefit of honda popularity...

pero while the last camry was small in terms of legroom (had a company car of it),

the new camry is absolutely huge - like a luxury car tlaga.

so it depends na lang on personality cguro...

both are good buys. happy driving people.

  4. medyo mabagal sa arangkada...pero pound per pound..im for camry!! ;)

    i second the motion...

i think the best head-to-head shoot-out on these two mid-size cars can be found on a back-issue of C! Magazine (IMHO, the best and classiest local auto-mag in the market)...so feel free to check it out.

The CAMRY is the largest mid-size car in the local market today.

Outsizing the 2003 Accord and the 2003 Cefiro. (Note that Galant is the only local market midsize that is yet to release a new series/edition of their marquee).

So for the Driven - Camry should actually be the better choice as it provides for larger legroom and S-classesque dimensions.

Design wise it reminds many of a Japanese S-Class.

The ACCORD has been completely redesigned, and features quite a lot of driver-reachable controls at hand. So actually, for the Driven - the Accord should be the smarter choice. Ditto with what Krunch said, the CAMRY - with its heftier size - accelerates slower, making it an ideal passenger car rather than a drivers car.

Design wise (especially with the new tail), it reminds many of a Japanese Maseratti.

The CEFIRO (especially the Brougham) has the best luxury features in its class though, including massagers built-in the rear passenger seats.

All things considered - pound for pound - I'd go for the CAMRY.

    Happy Driving People!

  5. pahabol sa halloween: :D

lecheng elevator ng RCBC yan, pati ako napagtripan na rin <_<

anyway, this happened few weeks ago...my team mate and i was about to go home. paglabas namin ng door going to the hallway where the elevators are, no one was there, not even the guard. im so sure, 2 lang kami sa hallway. i was about to reach for the button for elevator, approximately not more than 1ft yung distance ng fingers ko sa button ng elevator, umilaw na sila...take note, we're goin down so sympre downward button yung pipindutin, pero what happened was sabay nag-ilaw yung up and down buttons    my team mate and i never spoke about it while we were inside...paglabas takbo agad, then dun na kami nagreact

can somebody tell me na technical prob lang yun? :( the whole afternoon i tried to convince myself na ganon nga lang

    *seriously considers the situation*

apparently something...or someone...went with you

are you sure that you left him/her in the building?

  6. :P *heheh* so sorry bout that TP...

...how was i to know that you ALREADY had a sexy, hot-to-trot Pajero Fieldmaster in your garage. *dang* dapat pala sa akin mo na lang binenta *heheheh*

    (what color was it dre?)

...hmmm, off the top of my head...for a cool guy like you padre (plus the kids), the best looking car in the market right now would be - the VOLVO XC90 SUV. Cool/Rugged appeal, Go-Anywhere AWD adventurousness, 5-Star Class/Breeding PLUS Solid Family-Man Values *heheheh* (Check it out on C!'s September issue)

(I'd suggest the BMW X5 and the PORSCHE CAYENNE for you padre...but besides the prohibitive price-tags...its NOT as practical for the family as well.)

...your REVO is a good family car padre...a solid family car, set-up nice and classy (for your Revo that is), and convenient and easy to maintain! (And i think it looks great in the gray tone too.) BUT if you've got your eyes set on another car...Hmmm, lemme think...

...it'd have to be a big car for the big man...

...it'd have to match your business rank & status...

...it's have to be comfortable for the kids/family...

i think we'd have to stick to the lines of TRUCK: XUV/SUV...

On the XUV front, didya ever consider a rugged turbodiesel?

like the Crosswind XUV or better yet the new FORD EVEREST

Pero i think we should stay on the lines of SUV for you my friend:

*The X-Trail is interesting (PROS: its got a 2.0L engine for its size. CONS: its smaller than what would fit your lifestyle).

*The new PRADO is every inch as sexy as the old Fieldmaster that you had before (CONS: the price-tag at close to 2M would allow us to get a Suburban already).

*What do you say about the Ford Escape OR the Honda CRV padre?

*If you want something on the CAR size, the Subaru FORESTER would be a good fit for your lifestyle.

Hmmm...whaddya think? Help me out here...What are you looking for padre - car or truck?

  7. Try the new Pajero ... and Honda Accord

    IMHO lang TP...

(ei, its good to get a discussion going... ;) )

i think the new pajero is too fat and chubby for its own good.

i preferred the fieldmaster edition (its immediate predecessor), that was much sexier than the stay-puff model they have now.

i agree with you on the accord though, sexy butt indeed.

looks like something out of an italian stable - alfa-ish or maserati-ish.

pero the bastard-anak-sa-labas-of-the-mercedes-S-class Camry is still kinda bigger though.

whaddya think of the new pininfarina designed Optra though?
