Check with Sun Cruises for overnight packages (could be a bit expensive though). One option is to check with the Corregidor Foundation for alternative accommodations, which are cheaper. best time to go is Amihan season, marvelous weather even at high noon. In the summer til the start of the monsoon season, it can be excruciatingly hot, so be careful with heatstroke. During the rainy season, the forest takes on a eerily fascinating character when mist cloaks the forest floor. One good project is an expedition to track and photograph wildlife, especially deer. Sightings have been rare for visitors (I've had 2, one deer is as big as a small horse. it crossed the path of the bus on the way to Battery Cheney). Also had 3 ghostly encounters, not actual sightings but observable manifestations and one was potentially life-threatening.
