  1. For me, its mikhail tal. For sheer attacking courage and brilliance. I disliked the positional games employed by karpov and kasparov, as it delineated into who memorizes the most variations wins. For Tal, chess was ironically exciting. Google his games if you like po.

  2. Sana Redbull makakuha dhil dmi nawala sa kanila and sa system ng Red bull gagaling pa sya sa depensa and fastbreak and he will be more physical.

Nung last 5 mins, sina pena, washington, hontiveros at gonzales naglalaro.

panu mananalo iyan?

MVPs sana would be caguioa, seigle, at siyempre si samboy.

  6. Siot is a mediocre coach for san miguel. If you have objectively analyzed how he ran his team especially in crucial situations, you would realize that he lets personal emnities cloud his judgment. How many times has he benched Seigle and Racela during the fourth quarter, even when they were healthy? I'll pick racela over cortez any day of the week during crucial situations. Also, if one will be objective about it, it is obvious that Siot doesnt have a system; he pulls out players who are doing well oncourt for the sake of letting the other superstars have equal playing time--which is not a mark of a good coach. Yeng Guiao is successful because he inspires confidence in his players; they know they will get playing time if they do well inside the court. With Siot, it doesnt matter.

The reason Siot was successful with Ginebra was because it only had two, arguably three superstars in Caguioa, Helterbrand, and Menk--so he wasnt pressured by the playing time issue. He can give these guys all the minutes they want and no one in the team will complain.

  7. It will be good for Danny S if he were to transfer to a team that believes in him at hindi kay Siot na talagang walang sense of history, hindi man lang niya binigyan ng halaga yung impact ni Danny S sa team. With the Jay-Wash development, inevitable na talaga.

  8. Again Siot Tanquincen proves my case tonight. Magnolia vs Alaska. Consider the following figures:

1st Quarter - Danny Seigle scores a blistering 8 points for 12 minutes.

2nd Quarter - Danny Seigle is BENCHED despite the hot start. Returns only during the two minute mark. scores 1 point. Quote of the night: Randy Dimalibot wonders aloud " Bakit kaya hindi pa pinapapasok ni Siot si Seigle? Mainit siya sa first quarter. Bakit kaya?"

3rd Quarter - Danny Seigle starts the 3rd, makes a three point play, then YANKED OUT after only 3 minutes. Alska starts its surge. Binebenta ba ni Siot ang laro?

4th Quarter - WHAT THE HELL? Danny Seigle is BENCHED except for the last 11 SECONDS with the score tied because siot finally realizes he needs to spread the floor. (By the way, kahit nanalo magnolia, it was a bum call by the referee. you dont call a foul to decide a game unless it was a glaring violation. Boooo!)

TOTAL SEIGLE PLAYING TIME : 18 mins

I now officially christen Siot as the "idiot." This guy is UNBELIEVABLE.

  9. I have been a fan of the SMB franchise since the early 80s, when they rejoined the PBA by getting the nuclues of the NCC squad led by Samboy and Hector Calma. Those were good times, kahit na madalas mawala si Samboy dahil sa injury. I kept faith with the team because they had the will to win, and the coaching staff also recognized the capabilities of each player. Iba talaga ang may pinagsamahan.

But wednesday's loss to Air 21 had me wishing for Siot Tanquincen's mutilated head. Here was bad coaching displayed to the fullest. Danny Seigle was never sent in to play during the majority of the fourth quarter. How's that for a vote of confidence?

I am therefore tempted to consider that Danny S should transfer to another team to rejuvenate his career, ala Asi. He has only two good years left with only the ROY to show as an achievement. Kung halimbawa sa Red Bull siya maglalaro, he will be given the minutes, and the respect he deserves.

Siot, you idiot, it is not about giving your players equal playing time. It is about using your best players to the maximum, and giving the others specific roles to play. Seigle is your best player, so let him play.

  10. I remember I read somewhere that Chip Engelland is with the coaching staff of the Denver Nuggets...am not so sure about this info...

He is actually a "shooting coach" for the denver nuggets, if i remember quinito henson's article, but he also does free lance work for other players. He was the one who actually improved steve kerr's stroke.

  11. Cabagnot for seigle, hontiveros and ildefonso? It's not only improbable, its downright impossible. You should have done your research first. The PBA has implemented the so-called "marquee player" rule wherein every team designates ONE player as their marquee player, which means he is their best player in the team. Only marquee players from either team can be traded on a one-on-one basis. For San Miguel and Sta. Lucia to have a deal, Danny S. and kelly Williams must swap places. This rule also effectively prevents teams from having more than one marquee player in their line-up. So, for example, it would be impossible to see seigle playing alongside caguioa, williams, taulava, or james yap in one team and vice versa.

Final nail: Cabagnot isnt even marquee player material. Swapping a 6'9" multi-positional player for an average point guard like Cabagnot is, sad to say, exists only in the fertile minds of people with too much time in their hands. :)
