  1. Nordette to the best of my knowledge and according to MIMS is NOT a morning after pill. It is not for emergency use only and should be taken on the first day of menstruation like any ordinary contraceptive pills. Then again maybe the MIMS that i'm using is outdated.

    ah ok...

anyways, the mod deleted my topic "the morning-after pill" I don't know why. All i know is that its a medical topic and we are entitled know more about contraceptions and one of them is "morning-after" pills (because most topics here in MTC are related to sex that lead the members to sex).

The condom broke while having sex... And i wanna make sure that my girl don't get pregnant... Instead in trusting the "coke and medicol" thing...

According to the internet, "morning-after" pills must be taken with 72 hours of sex... i hope someone here knows or is using one will help in sharing...

  2. whats the best morning-after pill?

can we get one without prescription?

I heard my Nordette sa mercury. Kailangan pa ba ng subscription to have one?

Nordette is intended to prevent pregnancy when you have experienced known or suspected contraceptive failure (e.g., broken condom) or have not used contraception. The first dose of Nordette should be taken as soon as possible but within 72 hours of unprotected sex. Nordette is meant for emergency use only and not as a regular method of birth control. Like all oral contraceptives, Nordette does not protect against infection with HIV (the virus which causes AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases.

  3. New golden era launched by Filipino featherweight superstar

By Conrad Cariño, Senior Desk Editor

    http://www.manilatimes.net/national/2007/n...071104top2.html

The birth of a golden era in a boxing division requires a three- or four-cornered fight, with the triumphant fighter gaining the right to be proclaimed the greatest boxer of the era—even if he is not from the heavyweight division.

Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and George Foreman battled it out for supremacy in what is considered the most competitive era in the heavyweight division’s history. In the end, it was Ali who was proclaimed “The Greatest.”

In reality, Ali owed a lot to having Frazier and Foreman for his rivals. They were, like Ali, world champions and Olympic gold medalists.

After Ali’s heavyweight golden era, it was the turn of the welterweight-middleweight division to give boxing another golden era. It happened because four superstars—Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran and Marvin Hagler—vied to be No. 1.

No one ever expected that after the magnificence of Ali and Leonard, boxing’s next golden era would be launched in the featherweight-superfeatherweight division. Much less did anyone ever think a Filipino named Manny Pacquiao would emerge as the sport’s new supernova.

    A phenomenon

Pacquiao’s bouts—whether with pugilists also of superstar status or with lesser lights—invariably dominate the box-office ticket sales and TV viewership. The praises he gets from critics and specialists are phenomenal, considering that he actually does not hold a world title belt from any of the ruling boxing organizations. His only title is that of World Boxing Council (WBC) international superfeatherweight champion.

Even without a world title, Pacquiao is the “universally recognized” superfeatherweight champion. This is a first in boxing history. The prestigious Ring Magazine for the longest time has been ranking him as the top boxer in his division.

Pacquiao’s popularity rose sharply after he defeated Lehlo Ledwaba in June 2001, to win the IBF superbantamweight championship. He went on to challenge Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales, the dominant figures in the division before the Filipino arrived.

    Future hall of famers

Barrera has four titles in different divisions and his greatest fight was against featherweight champion Naseem Hamed, a flamboyant fighter who was actually a 3-1 favorite to win over the Mexican. Morales was also a champion in four divisions. Both fighters never suffered knock out losses before facing Pacquiao.

The three-cornered rivalry between Pacquiao, Barrera and Morales remarkably eclipsed the drama of what was happening in the welterweight-middleweight divisions. There, Oscar de la Hoya failed to avenge his losses to Shane Mosley and Felix Trinidad, who retired after being knocked out by middleweight champ Bernard Hopkins, who in turn knocked out de la Hoya.

Meanwhile, the heavyweight division turned into a circus when Mike Tyson started acting like a clown in the ring.

Pacquiao established his supremacy in the featherweight-superfeatherweight division with an exclamation point in every match. Pacquiao won two of his three matches with Morales, two by a knockout. Nobody had ever done that to Morales.

In late 2003, in his first fight against Barrera, Pacquiao won the first fight with such brutality that the referee had to stop the fight in the 11th round. On October 6, in their second fight, the Filipino did not need to knock Barrera out. The whole world saw who the undisputed master was—a judgment punctuated by the foul blow the Mexican gave Pacquiao while the referee was talking to them.

Pacquiao even did better than Ali in establishing his domination in his division. Ali had to go through hell to beat Frazier in their third fight, the “Thrilla in Manila.” Ali was even knocked down by Frazier in their first fight, and his second fight with Foreman was also aborted (some believe Foreman could have beaten him).

Even Leonard’s supremacy in the welterweight-middleweight wars of the 1980s is not as well-established as Pacquiao’s. Leonard only drew in his second bout with Hearns. And, to this day, some sports historians doubt Leonard’s decision win over Hagler. Leonard even failed to knock out Duran (which Hearns did easily).

    Pound for pound the best

If there is one fighter whose dominance in his division excites boxing fans almost as much as Pacquiao does, it would be super welterweight Roger Mayweather, who is ranked number one in the pound-for-pound ranking (on the list of best fighters today). On this list Pacquiao occupies second place.

While Mayweather’s fight against de la Hoya got the most pay-per-views in boxing history, he has never figured in a fierce three or four-cornered fight for supremacy, as Ali, Leonard and Pacquiao did.

If Mayweather retires now, he may end up like Rocky Marciano—with a great fight record and a championship reign. But he would not rate among the all-time greats because he did not have formidable and accomplished rivals. Even Joe Louis is ranked higher than Marciano for the simple reason that Louis took on tough opposition. Notably, Marciano has a knock out win against an aging Louis.

Ricky Hatton is set to test Mayweather when the former challenges him for the superwelter-weight title. Hatton is touted to be the best boxer ever produced by Great Britain. But he is not yet regarded as a future hall of famer—like Pacquiao’s Barrera and Morales. Hatton has not also gained the stature where he can strike fear in his opponent’s hearts, the way Hearns and Duran did.

Likewise, Mayweather’s boxing style pales in comparison with Leonard, who also took risks and did not mind getting hit just to land his combinations. Have you ever wondered why Mayweather’s face is regarded as “pretty?”

Mayweather’s cautiousness (witnessed most graphically in his fight with de la Hoya) may not also sit well with fans who want more excitement. Boxing fans will always want a knockout, the way basketball fans crave for the dunk, and baseball fans for a home run. And Pacquiao delivers the exciting knockouts on a good night.

  9. Best Practices for Driving

Before driving your vehicle, make sure it is properly maintained. Bring your vehicle promptly to the shop when you are notified of a scheduled preventative maintenance inspection or when you notice a change in the performance of the vehicle. Tune-ups and a regular maintenance program can save 4% on average in fuel. Keep your front suspension and steering properly aligned and repair body damage.

Be sure the tires are properly inflated. Under-inflated tires can cost as much as 1 mpg. Generally, studies indicate that keeping proper air pressure can improve your gas mileage by 3.3%. Make sure the tires are checked for proper pressure at least once per month and every time the vehicle is fueled.

Don't use premium fuel if your car does not require it; using it is an unnecessary expense. Getting the best fuel economy depends not only on how the vehicle is maintained, but also on how it is driven. Here are some fuel-saving driving tips to follow:

    1. Avoid extended warm-ups. Modern engines do not require it. As soon as your vehicle is drivable, accelerate gently and slowly for the first few blocks until the vehicle is fully warmed.
    2. Don't drive fast until the engine has fully warmed to normal operating temperature.
    3. Don't carry unnecessary equipment and minimize drag. Weight is the largest single factor in fuel usage, and every extra hundred pounds in cargo costs about 1% in fuel economy. Keep your trunk and backseat clear of any unnecessary items.
    4. Avoid unnecessary idling. One minute of idling uses more fuel than it takes to restart the engine. Prolonged idling uses fuel at the rate of about ½ gallon per hour. During a six month span in 2005, Safelite Group, an auto glass service company, decreased gasoline usage in their fleet of vans and light duty trucks by 6% after implementing a corporate initiative, called “Turn It Off – Idling Gets You Nowhere.” Remember, when you idle, you get “0” mpg.
    5. Avoid sudden stops and starts. Hard acceleration uses up to one third more fuel. Achieve your desired speed with a steady foot on the accelerator and try coasting to stop. Speeding, rapid acceleration, and braking can lower your gas mileage by 5% at lower speeds around town, and by 33% at higher highway speeds.
    6. Don't vent your anger behind the wheel. Aggressive acceleration wastes fuel and can be dangerous as well.
    7. Drive at a steady pace. Plan your route to avoid stop-and-start conditions and heavy traffic. Be aware of the traffic around you and adjust your driving to avoid constant acceleration and deceleration.
    8. Many traffic light systems are "timed" for a given speed. Try to pace your speed to make the green lights rather than going faster and stopping for red or yellow lights.
    9. The best fuel economy is obtained at moderate speeds. More fuel is consumed below 35 mph than at 45 mph, and generally, you'll lose 1 mpg for every 5 mpg over 50.
    10. Try to anticipate traffic jams and avoid them when possible. Despite stops for traffic signals on other roads, avoiding those expressway traffic jams can lower fuel consumption as much as 50%. Listen to radio reports for alternate routes around congested areas.
    11. Avoid excessive braking. The need for braking can often be eliminated by downshifting or simply taking your foot off the accelerator pedal.
    12. Carpool whenever possible or practical.
    13. Combine several short trips into a single trip. Short trips (fewer than 5 miles) don't let the engine reach its most efficient operating temperature. By combining numerous short trips, you can save on the total miles driven and take advantage of the vehicle's more efficient warmed-up condition.
    14. If you own more than one vehicle, use the most economical, especially for commuting or stop-and-go driving.
    15. Use the transmission properly. If your vehicle has a manual transmission, shift gears as soon as the engine can run smoothly in the next gear. Low gear at 20 mph gives only about two-thirds the mileage as high gear at the same speed. In second gear, it is four-fifths the mileage you'd get in high. With an automatic transmission, lifting your foot slightly off the accelerator will make the transmission shift sooner.
    16. When approaching hills, don't wait until the vehicle begins to "lug" before shifting gears. Don't accelerate once you have started up the hill, because speed increase is slight and fuel consumption is high. You can minimize the speed loss by gradually increasing speed as you approach a hill.
    17. If equipped, use the cruise control. A cruise control can gain 1-2 mpg by maintaining a steady, preset speed over any kind of terrain.
    18. Relax while driving. Find a comfortable driving position; fidgeting in the seat leads to constant speed changes and decreases fuel economy.
    19. If you drive a manual transmission vehicle, start in second when going downhill.
    20. Keep accurate records. Over a period, you can check your fuel economy; a sudden drop in miles per gallon may mean it's time for a tune-up or other maintenance.
  10. Question 1: Pano un proper way to drive A/T?? What gear for every speed?? or What gear for normal driving speeds (55-75kph = recommended according to procarcare.com)???

    • Starting the engine = Park

    • D4 = ??

    • D3 = ??

    • D2 = ??

Question 2: Ano kaya ang problem kapag galing sa mabilis mga 80 kph above then

kapag close to idle nangangatog na un makina, kapag nangatog na at

hindi mo nilagay sa D2 or neutral ay mamamatay un makina???

  11. Generalz,

Why don't u invest on an APC UPS? I have a Bak UPS ES-500 where I get my router and modem's power supply. At least the spikes etc coig the the power line would be elimnaited. As usual- u may have to have a Voltage Regular- A servo type 500w would be wnough to power your PC and the above (rpouter and modem) peripherals.

Next- upgrade the firmware of both your router and modem. This is the instructions that your modem and router would have.

Now it it is still erratic- renw your call for help.

Yes I agree.. use an AVR and UPS.. If you can upgrade the firmware, much better..

For household and small business use Linksys or Dlink is very reliable.

For Medium to Large business, Cisco is the best!
