In Paris, I strongly recommend Hotel Alcyon, near Bastille. Beside Ledru Rollin Metro. Simple, clean and accessible.

For Cafe Mocha, I prefer Seattle's Best for the reason that they give you the chocolate stick and you determine how much chocolate you put in your coffee. This plus their ham and cheese croissant - now that's my comfort food!

There's the Italian resto in Cubao Expo... the owner's pretty nice too
You must mean Bellini's at the Shoe Expo Cubao.
Italian restaurants come and go (remember Monk's Inn?) but this place has maintained the quality of its food. For us Filipinos it may even set the standard. Problem was that when I was in Italy, I felt Italian food in 'pinas is even better (mas malinamnam, ika nga....). Though nothing can beat the real thing, in my mind, the sum total of Bellini's, the ambiance, the taste, the presentation, is what is Italian food for Pinoys.

Last night, I had a very bad experience with a Globe Customer Service Supervisor named Zandeelim. I am a postpaid user and in the process of getting a prepaid second "emergency" phone, so probably part due to my unfamiliarity with scratching and my high regard for the quality of the phone card, I experienced overscratching of phone card, to mean that I am unable to read the last digit of the pin. I called up their customer service, gave Globe the call card serial number, the call and text card number and the first four digits of the pin. To this the girl said she had to report the matter to their technical who will complete investigation. I asked how long, and she replied "3 to 5 days". I asked how could it take so long when I already gave her all info regarding card and that they even checked that card was still valid and unused. To this she replied that she is unable to give me the last digit "in order to protect me". From what and whom?
I tried to remain cool (they obviously taped the conversation, and I can prove I was still cool inspite of being irritated and pissed) At this time, the girl then said that customer service had no access to the pin number. I asked who did, and they said their technical. I asked from whom in their technical would I follow up. The girl said words to the effect that "I wish I could give you his name but you have to talk to me". Obviously they did not want me to talk to their technical and they just wanted me to wait and go through their process, which will take 3 to 5 days.
Obviously Globe has a very mistaken concept of customer service, na instead of providing quick assistance ay patatagalin pa at pahihirapan pa ang customer.

I have business trip next month to Germany and might go take a few days off to Rome.
Any tips regarding hotels, places to see, watch, etc ?
Kung gusto mo cheap hotels, look for the Dominican Sisters. I think it is near the Basilica of St. Paul. The catch is that there is a curfew. Pero mura.
Summer ngayon, medyo mainit. Marami sa Roma nasa vacation houses nila. Medyo kaunti tao. Make sure sa Trevi magtapon ng pera. Effective iyon sa akin.
Don't miss the Spanish steps at ang mga tindahan. There is also a flea market every Sunday, pero inggat lang maraming hustler. Sabi nila lahat ng ninanakaw sa Rome for the week, ibinebenta sa flea market sa Linggo.
Lasty, invest in a good travel book, lalo na ngayon may sale National o kaya sa Book Fair.
Chiao and Happy Trip. Sa totoo lang, inggit ako.

You should try East West UITF.

I tried citisec, even attended their seminar.

The thing I like about it is that they give a chocolate stick, kaya alam mo hindi tinipid ang choco.
Kung Frap naman - best pa rin starbucks!

Just heard news in Studio 23 that NBI released a letter saying Korina Sanchez is not directly related to Francswiss controversy.
Kaya lang, ika nga, where there's smoke, there is fire.
