Is it easier to negotiate on written off accounts? Meaning, the bank would settle on lower amount (say just the principal) so as just to totally erase it on their books?

If written off na, pwede pa ba sila mangolekta?

Then pwede bang irequest na lang sa bank na i-write off na lang yung utang?

    An enlightenment would be appreciated.

    Go GSW!

  4.

Well... as they say... LOSERS are always BITTER!

No amount of explanation of basketball facts could convince them because their bitterness has closed their minds.

Enjoy the Finals folks! My prediction? It's GSW in 6 or 7!

  5. Basketball 101: The figures on the scoreboard are the most important numbers. It is about scoring (shooting). It is the points that win games.

The stat-sheet is also important... you could fill them with rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, etc...but if they don't reflect on the score board... they are of little value.

Defense is also important... but it just plays second fiddle to offense... because at the end of the day... the team with the higher score (offense) wins the game.

As far as players are concerned... the scorers are the most important part of the team because it is their points that reflects on the scoreboard. You don't build a team around a defensive player.. the scorer is always the cornerstone and foundation of any champion team.

Curry's impact on his team is primarily on offense (scoring, assisting, controlling their offense) and he excels on that. He has seen a variety of defensive strategies thrown at him... he could be slowed down for a game or two... but in a long series.. he is always able to solve the problem and be a big time scorer that he is.

He is not a lock-down defensive player. That's why they have Bogut, Igoudala, Green and Thompson. His main contribution on defense is guarding the passing lanes (steals) and providing extra pressure via double team.

And again... the panel has voted UNANIMOUSLY. Curry is the MVP... and it is not just a hype. He delivers an MVP game when it really matters.

  6. That is why Basketball is a TEAM game... because they all need each other... but you still cannot deny that somebody has to lead the team... and for GSW.. that's Steph Curry.

I just don't know why there are "experts" here who still cannot appreciate what Curry does to his team.

    The panel has voted "UNANIMOUSLY"

Even Klay Thompson acknowledges Curry as their MVP.

  7. so the 17-man pool has been trimmed by 2. 15 men fighting it out for the 12 coveted slots. will we see a change in the lineup? despite the withdrawal of lassiter and greg, chot still has a difficult task of choosing the final 12. sayang si greg at marcio...makakatulong sana ng malaki yung dalawa. di pa din pala natapos ang politika sa basketball.

  8. ang hirap magtanggal ng 5 out of the 17. chot will have a tough job selecting the final fighting 12.

shoo-ins could be ping, junmar, greg, japeth, ranidel, castro, norwood and whoever would be the naturalized - blatche or marcus.

but the others like for point who would you pick among the 3? LA, jimmy or lee

shooters - david, fonacier, chan or lassiter.

daming pwede but one thing's for sure...whoever will be picked will be deserving to don the philippine colors.

I would prefer Lee, Lassiter and Chan to play in Spain for the World Championship...

then those who will not be chosen can play in Korea for the Asian Games..

  9. I love the 17-man pool. It gives Chot a lot of choices so he can make a team that is versatile enough to adjust to different playing styles.

King ako lang, I'll make the following selection for the final 12:

Center - Blatche (or Douthit), Slaughter, Fajardo

Gregzilla and the Kraken can be our team's back up centers without surrendering any height. Besides, these two Visayan giants play differently and offer different looks.

Power Forwards - Aguilar, De Ocampo, Pingris

Again, 3 guys who provide different skillsets. We can either play fast and rugged (Ping), long (3 pt sniping from Ranidel), or match others height-wise (Japeth).

Small Forwards - Norwood & Dillinger

They are fast, tall, and they play tenacious d. Add to the fact that both can slide down to the point guard position in emergency cases make both of them our ideal wingmen.

    Tiradors - Lassiter & Chan

Because they are extremely good shooters. Period.

Point Guards - Lee & Castro

One is bulky but shifty. The other one is smaller but zooms like someone with a jetpack. Two different looks but they have one thing in common - both can slash really well which is ideal for Chot's dribble drive offense.

Ok na din ako sa line-up na 'to for the FIBA World Championship... though for the Asian Games, I think we would need more shooters and quickness...

  10. smc players had no legs and couldn't run after jeff chan. fatigue may have caught up with tim cone's wards. they should take advantage of the next few days of rest.

Mukang mga pagod na nga... but I'm sure Tim Cone could do something... specially in managing his players' minutes on the floor...

  11. Huh???

Why in the world would anyone pick a slower injurred and sick williams over japhet? Williams doesnt even have a good medium range shot...im not a hypocrite...i was glad williams was injured...did you even watch the tokushima games? Williams is a no factor already...i agree on beu belga...he would be an asser BUT only in FIBA Asia not FIBA world...unless of course belga is listed as a 6-9 burly and round power forwrard...

This team would really need a big lineup change...especially the succeeding fiba asias or even asian games...lutz paul lee ellis barroca and most esp lassiter...(heck all those gilas boys that toroman trained were more than enough to replace david and fonacier ...on paper) and please no arwind or yap...

BUT everyone should agree that this gilas team...the same gilas team who played here and pour out their sweat blood and hearts for their countryman...SHOULD be the team THAT should play in FIBA World...

That's the politics in basketball... remember that it is Manny Pangilinan who is financing the team...

Personally.. I would prefer to still have Douthitt in the team for the World Championships in Spain ... the chemistry is already there... and his attitude is commendable... he goes easily well with our locals... maybe we should consider giving it to him as his last tour of duty (together with the Asiad that immediately follows after the World Championships). Then let's enlist another naturalized player for the next FIBA qualifier for the Olympics.

As for the locals... I would vouch for the inclusion of Slaughter, Barocca and Lassiter. They were already part of the pool after all. Plus maybe Cliff Hodge and another shooter. My candidates to be taken out are Tenorio, Fonacier, David, and De Ocampo.

    Just my opinion... peace.

  12. No Japeth?

Yes... Japeth is still not sure of making the team...

If you would remember, Belga was the last cut from the Gilas team who fought at the FIBA Asia. The choice was actually between Belga and Japeth. Had it not for Williams' injury, he (Williams) would have been there instead of Japeth.

Now, considering that Fajardo, Pingris and De Ocampo are almost sure of making it... plus the naturalized player (either Douthitt or Blatche)... there would be only 2 or 3 more slots left for the big men... if Blatche would play, he's a natural 4... so what Gilas team would need is a 5... where Slaughter is being considered...

With that scenario... the last slot would be a toss-up again between Japeth, Belga, and/or even Williams... where Williams has an inside track because he plays for MVP (Talk n Text)...

  13. Beating Argentina is a wishful thinking (even without Ginobili); sa Senegal lang may tsansa; sa iba tsamba lang

I would quote a retired basketball coach who was asked about his thoughts on the FIBA World championship; - They must study the line-up and styles of Senegal, Puerto Rico and Croatia. They must prepare seriously against those teams because that's where they have a chance of winning.

The games against Argentina and Greece would be treated as practice/tune-up (and rest for the players who are playing heavy minutes) since there would be a very slim chance of winning anyway...

The final line-up will also depend on their preparations against those 3 teams... a possibility of bringing just 2 points guards (they have 3 point guards right now)and adding more height and shooters...

Only 6 from the current line-up are almost guaranteed to make it - Fajardo, De Ocampo, Pingris, Chan, Norwood, and Castro.

  14. Mukang mas magandang isama si Barocca in place of LA Tenorio...
