  1. Your casino rules are good guidelines to play by, take it from a former casino operator.

However, your conspiracy theory on slot machines is incorrect. The player cards are to track your points and play level, for reward points and to get your information so they can market to you (ie. convince you to keep coming back.

Of course there is a house edge in slots (and every table game in the casino), otherwise why would anybody build a casino? Long-term, you are guaranteed to lose, but what is considered long-term is more than your one night, one week, one month, or even one year of playing. You can be lucky for any period of time, and unlucky for any period of time, and it is perfectly normal. In the end though, you lose to the house edge.

Picking slots is probably the worst move you make here, as practically any normal (non-prop) bet on a table game will give you better odds.

There is a reason why slots are called "one-arm bandits".

stufguy: We have basically the same experience with slot machines, although I quickly learned my lesson after a P5,000 loss in one night. What experience taught me was, after your first couple of hits, walk away. You're not very likely to get lucky again.

GetBack: I have the suspicion that Resorts World Manila tracks its players through their playing cards. Remember, any game that you play in RWM, you have to swipe your card--which contains your identity and picture. Are the cards really just for storing value to play with or to redeem wins? I think all game machines/tables are linked to a computer server with an algorithm that makes sure nobody wins too much. Had this nagging suspicion because after two straight winning weekends at RWM, my luck began to run out on successive visits. I ended up giving back all my winnings. And this was with switching a dozen different slot machines, not just the same machines. If randomness of luck applies, I should've at least broken even in about 4 or 5 of those machines on the losing days. But no, I couldn't find a lucky streak at all in any machine.

So now my personal casino rules are:

    1) Bring a budget that I can afford to lose down the drain (ex., 5k).

    2) Set a time limit as well (ex. 3 hrs)

    3) I walk out of the casino whichever comes first: either the 5k is all used up or 3 hrs is up. Even if at the end of 3hrs, I still have money (say I'm winnning), it's still time to pack up and leave. Take whatever money is remaining and just head for the door.

I can say I'm gambling responsibly, and I'm not putting any dent in personal finances. Never needed to withdraw from ATMs at any time.

Lastly, I knew someone who worked for a software company that supplies PAGCOR's slot machines. There IS such a thing as "house edge." It's a statistical advantage built into the software, even at your neighborhood E-Games outlets, so that the probability of the house winning is much greater than that of the customer.

  2. The biggest posers are people who use complicated words in an attempt to sound smarter than they are, but have no idea how to spell or use it properly.

Thanks, you gave me a good laugh today. LOL.

their international trademark and the ambiance?

but personally I'd rather have my instant coffee in the pantry with manang than have a high-falluting sounding coffee amidst some posers.

  3. Actually, I did read through the 8 pages or so before I posted.

You are welcome to follow their advice, it's your money you're losing not mine.

Hehehe and what sort of advice is good enough for you? Did you read throughly the posts here before you arrive at this ?

"As a public service, disregard all advice in this thread about how to gamble. Nobody here seems to play properly to give them the best possible (but still negative) odds of winning."

  4. As a public service, disregard all advice in this thread about how to gamble. Nobody here seems to play properly to give them the best possible (but still negative) odds of winning.

If you want advice on how to play, check out www.wizardofodds.com for individual games. He's a little bit technical, but at least you'll play with the best possible odds when you do play.

Example, DO NOT always raise in Pai Gow Poker, that's just plain retarded strategy advocated by an idiot. Plus, Super 6 or Pontoon, derivative games you find in Casino Filipino are always bad odds games.

Just remember, they do not create new games or new kinds of bets that make the casino win less, of course they win more on these "teaser" bets.

  5. Generally these load wallets for text in purchases of other "load" products are risky.

Unless it is publicly-endorsed by Smart, Globe, or Sun, it is almost certainly grey-market and violates the EULA of the SIMs used for the service.

How to check? If they require you to text in instructions for 0917xxx-xxxx, 0918xxx-xxxx, or 0922xxx-xxxx, and/or they change these numbers frequently, you will know its not a totally clean business.

A truly legit Value-Added Service by a telecom would use access codes, like TEXT TO 2338 or TEXT to 288 etc.

However, most work without stealing their clients' money like the old LoadXtreme. I agree, check out loadcentral or load.com.ph if you like these risky things.

I tried to transfer my account to the newly managed LoadXtreme. ...and still waiting for the confirmation. But after I read all the posts, it came to me that whether the transfer's successful or not, to hell with their service. They might screw up again and I might end up as one of you ^ guys. Good thing I didn't leave much on my Loadwallet. Any second opinion peeps?
  6. Not wishing to argue, but what are you comparing Sumo Sam to, if you consider it expensive?

The serving sizes are not that bad, and the price is roughly half that of Sugi.

That aside, I'm not saying its much better than Sugi, but if you are looking at Value/Price, I don't think Sugi is anywhere in the running.

Sugi is a place to be seen in, and unfortunately, is also probably the best japanese restaurant available in Greenbelt at this time. Food and value there is clearly secondary.

    sumo sam's? hmmm, i couldn't disagree more,

I had a very un-satisfactory experience eating there, and was embarrased to my companions for even suggesting it...

sobrang mahal, sobrang konti ang food,

maganda ang menu nila, 1st class,

but the food? hmmmm... mag rai rai ken nalang ako...

sugi is expensive, but this is among the best japanese food i've had, and humility aside, i've lived in a few countries, had japanese food everywhere...

    sugi is definitely satisfying...

Tsukiji in fact, is just an expensive sugi

  7. Sugi must be the most overpriced Japanese restaurant in Manila. Moderate-to-So So quality and top scale pricing. It's hype and the location that makes people pay for it. Frankly, there are no good Japanese restaurants in Greenbelt, but i agree with Kimpura and for the low-end, I think Sumo Sam probably gives the most bang for the buck.

The most consistent place has to be Akiga. Usually good to very good each and every time.

    low end, kimono ken

    middle market kimpura

    high end sugi
