Kudos to you bro for prioritizing improving yourself. But I never met any guy OK with his girl being screwed by other guys. Their arguments whatever started it always go to the girl screwing other guys. That is a painful path to tread.

Kare kare is my fave and I frequently make it. There is no secret ingredient you just have to make every component right. Fresh ingredients, slow cook the tripe and meat, use 80% ground peanuts 20% good quality peanut butter, use ground sticky rice to thicken not corn starch, blanch the veggies first (matagal lumambot ang talong sa mani 😂) but I do prefer to shallow fry the eggplants to give another layer of flavor. And don't forget to sautee the bagoong thoroughly to cook off any fishiness. 

Depends on your goal. If you want to get to know the girl, a nice dinner would be good. You can observe her enough not to be a creep. If you already know her and you want to make you like you more, go on a little bit adventure something that she has never done before. She will remember the experience and you as well.
