  26. Long time lurker in this thread, among others. Just some few info because sa bisyo na ganito, both GMs and Theras need to be aware. -Different STDs, different tests. Walang one test fits all. Routine CBC aka blood test does NOT detect STDs. Kelangan ng specialized tests for them. Gono and Chlamydia can be detected via urinalysis. Pap smears does not detect STDs. K, Let's count them down. -HIV aka Hayop Itong Virus, joke - Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Can be transmitted via anal, vaginal and oral sex. Anal sex being highest chance, Oral sex being almost negligible chance. Receptive has more chances of "winning" than insertive. Meaning kung ikaw ang tinutusok, mas mataas chance mo mahawa kesa sa tumutusok. Technically, besides blood transfusion and child birth from HIV+ mom, one has low chance of getting HIV. Then again, it's a gamble. Pwede ka magkaron nito sa 1st ever encounter mo, pwede din 10 years ka na nakikipag sex, never ka nahawa. If yung latter, tumaya ka na sa Lotto. Anyway... HIV can be "prevented". Condom usage is basic. Has treatment but no cure. PrEP (pre exposure prophylaxis). Pre means before. Women needs to take it daily, men, can take daily or do the 2-1-1 dosing schedule. Biology, not sexism sorry. 2-1-1 dosing is 2 pills atleast 2 hrs before sex, 1 pill the next day, 1 pill the following day. Take it within same time. Available sa Loveyourself. You CANNOT take this if HIV+ ka na. You need ART. See last item. PEP (Post exposure prophylaxis). Post means after. Emergency pill, use incase condom breaks, accidental "live" (sure, accidental lol). THIS IS NOT MEANT as a treatment. This is a last resort incase of "accidents". You take a set of pills (usually 2 pills/day) for the next 30 days. You test before taking, and after taking and 30 days after last day of PEP. This is hard on your body. Some people, walang side-effect. But it's hard on your liver and kidneys. It's safe, then again, it's not meant na gamitin paulit ulit. Available sa Loveyourself. You CANNOT take this if HIV+ ka na. You need: ART - Antiretroviral therapy. If HIV+ ka na, this is it pancit. You take this daily so your HIV becomes undetectable. Positive ka pa din, pero studies show na U = U, meaning undetectable = untransmittable. This is your life now - daily pills, and it's great because you get to die of old age instead of HIV evolving into AIDS. This is NOT a cure, again, positive ka pa din. It just significantly lowers the amount of virus in your system, to the point na parang wala na. I think wala to sa Loveyourself pero if I recall correctly, should be free via DOH. Thank you Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray for the campaign. And sa ibang gay friends ko na nagkwento nito. -Syphilis Can be transmitted via anal, vaginal and oral sex. Can rarely be transmitted via kissing if may open sores kayo. Has 4 stages. Stage 1 - may sores na not painful sa area kung san siya na transmit. This sore usually goes away without issues for around 2 weeks. Stage 2 - secondary (duh) stage. Random rashes, flu-like symptoms for a short time. Stage 3 - Latent stage, kumbaga nag-chichill lang si bacteria sa katawan niyo for the next 10-30 years. Nagawa na siya ng civilization sa katawan mo. Sana all pwede mag VL ng 10yrs pataas. Joke lang. Stage 4 - Tertiary stage. Di lahat nadaan dito pero eto na yung stage na mag start na siya manira ng organs mo. Kumbaga, ikaw si Pilipinas, si Syphillis si China. Good thing - can be cured by anti-biotics. Medyo heavy sa kidney pero atleast you get to live. Get tested regularly para madetect early. Will not undo any damage done sa katawan. -HPV Can be transmitted via anal, vaginal and oral sex. Can also be transmitted via skin-to-skin contact. Gumagaling 8 out of 10 times. Super common. May vaccine. Recommended age up to 26yo. 26 to 45 - need to get doctor's opinion. -HSV aka Herpes Can be transmitted via anal, vaginal and oral sex. Can also be transmitted via skin-to-skin contact. Recurring. Nawawala (pero infected ka pa din) then bumabalik yung sores and blisters. Medicines can shorten yung pagsilip ng blisters. No cure. -Gono and Chlamydia Can be transmitted via anal, vaginal and oral sex. Can be treated with a course of anti biotics. -Hepatitis 5 letters to (why oh why) so maging bata ulet tayo. Technically B and C lang pakelam natin pero k, lahatin natin. A - has vaccine. Commonly spread via food/water. Resolves on it's own. Thank you kayo sa immune system. B - no cure, has vaccine. So if responsible si parents niyo nung bata kayo, chances are vaccinated kayo, otherwise get vaccinated. Spread via bodily fluids aka blood, semen and vaginal secretion. Chronic hep-b requires anti-viral meds. Mahal, magastos. C - No vaccine, but can be cured by anti-viral meds. Spread via bodily fluids aka blood, semen and vaginal secretion. D - Spread via blood na may virus. Last I checked, may cure pero malala ata side effect. E - Yes, last na. Commonly spread via food/water. Usually resolves on it's own. Thank you. Last notes to GMs and Theras alike. Let's get tested regularly para masaya ang bisyo and work natin. Alisin na din natin ang stigma ng STDs. As you can see sa taas, most can be cured. Yung mga wala, has treatment options. Don't self-medicate. Incorrect taking ng anti-biotics can build up super bugs. Pls don't. I personally get tested sa Loveyourself. Dun din ako nakuha ng PrEP. Let's promote PrEP, PEP and vaccines. Investment tong mga to. Remember, just because may cure, may treatment, may vaccines - does not mean we get to get wild. Use condoms pa din, still the 2nd best thing to prevent STDs after abstinence. Let's be safe. Let's kill the stigma. Enjoy the work, the hobby. Yun lang, bow. PS: Walang tl-dr version, kasi ayoko na.

  27. Probability of catching an STI/STD with an infected person in oral sex scenario Chlamydia Penis to mouth - The chance of getting oral chlamydia after contacting with infected penis is from 2.6% to 3.7% Mouth to penis - The chance of passing chlamydia from infected throat to penis is from 5.6%-15.6% Vagina to mouth - The chance of getting oral chlamydia after contact with infected vagina is from 0% to 5%. Mouth to vagina - The chance of passing chlamydia from infected throat to vagina can be as high as 40% Anus to mouth - The chance of getting oral chlamydia after contacting with infected anus is from 2.6% to 3.6% Mouth to anus - The chance of passing chlamydia from infected throat to the rectum is from 13.1% to 32.5% Gonorrhea Penis to mouth - Chance of transmission from penis to oral area: 2.3% Mouth to penis - Chance of transmission from throat to penis: 23% to 42.3% Vagina to mouth - Chance of transmission from vagina to throat: 0% to 5% Mouth to vagina - Chance of transmission from throat to vagina: as high as 40% Anus to mouth - Chance of transmission from anus to throat: 3.8% Mouth to Anus - Chance of transmission from throat to rectum: 42.3% DFK - The chance of getting oral gonorrhea after contacting with infected throat (deep kissing) is 23.2% HIV Getting HIV through oral sex is very unlikely. The chance is close to zero, whether you're giving or receiving oral sex. This is because mouth tissues rarely develop microscopic abrasions during sex, even if blood or sperm enters the mouth. However, it is difficult to scientifically determine the risk of oral sex alone because people having oral sex usually also have other types of sex (vaginal or anal) during the same sexual episode. Giving oral sex is a bit riskier The risk of getting oral HIV is slightly higher if you are giving oral sex (your mouth is on your partner's genitals) than if you are receiving it (your partner's mouth is on your genitals). The reason for this is that you may have microscopic abrasions in your mouth that you're not aware of and your mouth and throat can come into contact with infected bodily fluids. Herpes Protected oral sex with Asymptomatic person - 5.15% chance of getting infected Protected oral sex with Symptomatic person - 10.05% chance of getting infected Unprotected oral sex with Asymptomatic person - 10.20% chance of getting infected Unprotected oral sex with Symptomatic person - 20.10 chance of getting infected Source: NYC STD Center
