U.P. AdMU2008
As a sports that combines more movements like running and jumping and screening, it can easily be taught to the Filipinos. Besides, for practices, it can be done only in some areas smaller than a soccer filed. So I'd favor this game over football if the Filipinos want some diversions from Basketball. 1 Quote Link to comment
SaintPeter5858
Thanks to these companies then. Hope they'll support our team further. Any team, sports or non-sports, really need some financial support from corporate giants. Let's hope that MVP and others will pay attention to Rugby too 1 Quote Link to comment

Headroom
Can we start introducing it to the UAAP? Sure you can - if you PM me some details I can put you in contact with the head of the Philippine Rugby Football Union. Alternatively go to http://www.prfu.com/ and contact the through the site. They have Filipino coaches who travel around teaching and promoting the sport. Quote Link to comment

Headroom
Nomads rugby club beat the Alabang Eagles on Saturday 45 - 10. The game was a lot tougher than the score would indicate. Quote Link to comment

BrightestStar
Balls are not available just anywhere. I think only Toby's is selling Rugby balls here. Quote Link to comment
SaintPeter5858
It would be much better if they can start with some sort of grassroot training for future Rugby players Quote Link to comment
johnnydrama
It would be much better if they can start with some sort of grassroot training for future Rugby players I'd bet the likes of Andrew Wolff and the rest of his Volcanoes can give Rugby a big boost in these shores (just as the Younghusbands did with local footie) Andrew (left) w/ Jon Avila (feel free to resize if too large) Quote Link to comment
SaintPeter5858
Let's just wait. Who knows more Filipinos will eventually fall in love with the game? Quote Link to comment

BrightestStar
The passing and the running plus the guarding/defending makes Rugby very similar to basketball. Quote Link to comment
SweetSexyLOVER
It will take time before it becomes very popular. Quote Link to comment
mikeskillz
its not for the mass Quote Link to comment

Headroom
its not for the mass Rugby is for everyone. It doesn't matter what size you are as there are different positions to suit body type. The only thing you need is a ball and you can practise passing and running anywhere. It's for men, women and children - either as a player or a spectator. The Philippines Women's team just beat Laos on the weekend in full tackle game of rugby. I'd bet the likes of Andrew Wolff and the rest of his Volcanoes can give Rugby a big boost in these shores (just as the Younghusbands did with local footie) Andrew (left) w/ Jon Avila (feel free to resize if too large) Looks like a pic taken at the Manila 10's Rugby Tournament which has been running for 23 years in the Philippines.
