Wanted: Bar With A Bar

Recommended Posts

sige na nga...

Yamsan in Lan Kwai Fong... The bar itself is not well lit, pero there's a cozy corner in the bar that has a long seat (parang bar stool for two) and it has an accent light on top of the bar table that would allow you to read or browse magazines. Last time I was there, I finished browsing several hongkee fashion mags.

Mamahaling bar yan... me pamasahe involved....

Hmmm nagisip isip ako.. Bakit wala ako maisip na bar?

We used to go to the places in Legaspi Village a lot, but I have no idea whether these places are still open.

A favorite is that bar in Carlos Palanca whose name escapes me at the moment... very near Gweilos.

:P

hehehe oo nga naman, usually yung mga nagaaway dito eh dahil sa agawan ng date. One time may nagbato ng mug, nabasag yung window tapos may nahulugan na car. This was the time I started shifting to Padis Greenhills na. Sayang talaga, na namemorize ko na yung sequence ng songs sa silouette   Pag weekends lang ata may D.J.  I also like San Mig sa may el pueblo pero I'm not sure kung bukas pa yon, saka medyo pricey.

Masarap ang food sa San Mig

Side Bar is okay too kaya lang it can be noisy... kakabilib ang Side Bar antagal na nya in existence...

Sayang din at wala ng 90 Proof.... that was a good one too.

Went to mag:net cafe katipunan yesterday night, they had poetry night followed by jazz night. There was a counter that looked like a bar that was actually comfortable to sit at. The servings were ok for the price, most of the food was below 200 pesos. The place is small though so it gets packed pretty quick. http://www.magnet.com.ph/ they have events everyday.

How about a good Irish bar with Guiness draft. This is something I always look for when traveling in foriegn countries. Usually you'll find a great wooden bar with plenty of room to turn and scan the crowd. Sometimes you can see the street outside. Nice way to fill a long afternoon if you got an easy schedule

Wow, I've been searching for a bar with a real bar counter that serves cocktails here in Manila. Some place where you can relax listen to mellow music and just be at peace with your drink. I tried driving the streets in Malate-Adriatico area but ended up seeing supposedly "bars" with women wearing skimpy clothing and calling me in. I hope someone can guide me to a place like this other than a hotel bar. Can anyone recommend me to a similar place in the Manila-Pasay area? -_-

try oarhouse across malate church. its beside a japanese girly bar. its a tambayan for local and wires photographers. a lot of expats going to this place too. and not the wasted middle-aged kind too. its beer they serve here.try to sit at the table near the door so you can see the skimpily clad women from the bar next door.

if you want exotic drinks . the bar at westin never fails to impress a date .a bit d.o.m. ish though

Agree with oneSHOTwonder, Oarhouse is a pretty interesting place to hang out. Good food and good conversation can be had if you introduce yourself to the patrons. Wifi is also available. It can get pretty rowdy after a tough news day as the photogs blow off steam, though.
