gr82d8
Way back in high school, I used to drink in bar along Annapolis right beside Club Filipino called Silhouette. They usually play new wave songs and had a bar where the bartender would usually slide me a cold glass of draft. The place closed down and was turned into a resto (good earth I think) so I had transferred to Padis Point in Greenhills (near the unimart side) They also had a bar there where I usually had dinner and a few drinks while reading a book. Everybody minded their own business with the exception of the occasional girl or gay sending me a drink. The bar was perfect, you can rest your elbows on it and had a ridge so that condensation from the beer bottles don't drip on your pants. Unfortunately it had closed down as well. The most recent bar that I had been going to was Easy Street Cafe, it's located right across Ever Gotesco Commonwealth. It was a nice place with nice people and jazz music. Unfortunately my girlfriend and I broke up so I moved back to my folks house near new manila. I've been to a few bars near the abs-cbn area but the bars are either too high or the people too mean. With that being said, would anybody know of a bar in the New Manila, Q.C./Greenhills area with a "perfect" bar that one can sit alone in peace. Thanks! :mtc: Quote Link to comment

Went to annapolis na naka uniform pa, kahit closed pa kakatok lang ako sa guard para papasukin. Most of the waiters from here transferred to a disco dun sa may St. Francis Square, closed na rin! haha forgot the name. Quote Link to comment

That was way back junior prom. We had the prom in Club Filipino then my friends and I were feeling cocky and went to Silhouette. Inom kami beer. Forgot all about my date! :boo: Â Para hindi OT, I used to frequent Prince of Wales in Greenbelt and this bar in Eastwood beside Cheesecake Factory that has since closed down and was replaced by BED. I liked both bars kasi you can sit in the bar and get your laptop going and work. I used to have a really cool boss who, whenever he was in Manila, went out with me in Prince of Wales and wrap up the day's work while drinking beer and puffing on a cigar. Quote Link to comment

The bar itself is not well lit, pero there's a cozy corner in the bar that has a long seat (parang bar stool for two) and it has an accent light on top of the bar table that would allow you to read or browse magazines. Last time I was there, I finished browsing several hongkee fashion mags. Quote Link to comment

One time may nagbato ng mug, nabasag yung window tapos may nahulugan na car. This was the time I started shifting to Padis Greenhills na. Sayang talaga, na namemorize ko na yung sequence ng songs sa silouette Pag weekends lang ata may D.J. I also like San Mig sa may el pueblo pero I'm not sure kung bukas pa yon, saka medyo pricey. gr82d8
Went to mag:net cafe katipunan yesterday night, they had poetry night followed by jazz night. There was a counter that looked like a bar that was actually comfortable to sit at. The servings were ok for the price, most of the food was below 200 pesos. The place is small though so it gets packed pretty quick. http://www.magnet.com.ph/ they have events everyday. Quote Link to comment

joefree1
How about a good Irish bar with Guiness draft. This is something I always look for when traveling in foriegn countries. Usually you'll find a great wooden bar with plenty of room to turn and scan the crowd. Sometimes you can see the street outside. Nice way to fill a long afternoon if you got an easy schedule Quote Link to comment

Muro-Ami
Wow, I've been searching for a bar with a real bar counter that serves cocktails here in Manila. Some place where you can relax listen to mellow music and just be at peace with your drink. I tried driving the streets in Malate-Adriatico area but ended up seeing supposedly "bars" with women wearing skimpy clothing and calling me in. I hope someone can guide me to a place like this other than a hotel bar. Can anyone recommend me to a similar place in the Manila-Pasay area? Quote Link to comment
