Divorce remains not yet legal in the Philippines, making it the only country in the world, aside from Vatican City, without a divorce law. Couples seeking to terminate their marriage must resort to legal separation or annulment. Annulment renders a marriage null and void, while legal separation enables couples to live separately and divide their assets, but the marriage remains intact. The processes for annulment and legal separation are often protracted, expensive, and intricate. Nonetheless, the Philippine government has been exploring the enactment of a divorce bill that would offer couples another means of dissolving their marriages.

True. Give it as an option to people who wanted it.

Sa mga ayaw, anong reason niyo? Not to fan flames, but genuinely curious.

If we adopt no-fault divorce (the common type of divorce allowed), with alimony policies heavily favoring the female, it would end up becoming a massive disincentive for the male to marry kahit inayos na niya yung buhay niya, kasi kayang baliwalain lang. Well, at least, that's what manosphere/red pill YouTube would tell you.

Too much of the divorce debate hinges on whether or not we should allow it, when what we really should (have) debate(d) is what types of divorces we want allowed, paano magiging alimony natin dito, at paano natin tatratuhin yung divorce rate.

The resitance to passing a divorce law is strange when the Catholic Church has it's own procedure for divorce.

It makes marriage a penalty for people who get caught up in passion or for people that had not lived with their spouse long enough to discover their undesirable habits or attitudes that would have prevented the marriage.

Congress should just pass a divorce law and make life easier for everyone.
