The 5-minute briefing on Sagada — the Cordillera's most atmospheric mountain town. Hanging coffins on Echo Valley cliffs, Sumaguing Cave's underground river crawl, Kiltepan sunrise over the rice terraces, and the country's strongest mountain food scene. The 12-hour Manila trip that affluent Filipinos make at least once. Sagada sits at 1,500–1,800 m elevation in Mountain Province in the heart of the Cordillera. The town is famous for the hanging coffins on the cliffs of Echo Valley (the Kankana-ey Igorot traditional burial practice, still observed by elders), Sumaguing Cave (the country's signature spelunking experience), Kiltepan sunrise over the rice terraces, and a mountain food scene built around Sagada lemon, Sagada coffee, and traditional Igorot dishes. The town gained mainstream popularity after the 2014 Filipino film That Thing Called Tadhana — it's been a busy weekend destination for affluent Manileños and the Cordillera circuit's anchor stop ever since. For broader Cordillera trip planning (combining Baguio + Sagada + Banaue + Kalinga), see the Cordillera Travel Guide parent thread. Why Sagada matters (and how it differs from Baguio and Banaue) The Cordillera's three Big Three destinations have distinct identities: Sagada = atmospheric mountain town, hanging coffins, caves, indigenous Igorot culture still actively lived. The contemplative pick. Baguio City = the summer capital, urban Cordillera, family-friendly, easiest access from Manila (4–6 hr drive). Banaue Rice Terraces = the UNESCO World Heritage rice terraces, the postcard scene. Pilgrimage destination. Most affluent visitors combine all three across a 5–7 night Cordillera trip. If you only have time for one and want the atmospheric mountain experience, Sagada is the choice. The hanging coffins of Echo Valley The Kankana-ey Igorot practice of suspending coffins on limestone cliffs is the headline cultural experience: Echo Valley — short 30-minute hike from the town center past the Anglican church. Coffins are visible from a designated viewing area; no climbing required. Local guides are required — register at the Sagada Tourism Office. Hiring a guide is both regulation and proper respect (these are active burial sites, not a tourist museum). The practice continues — Igorot elders are still buried this way; you may see freshly-placed coffins. Be respectful. Sumaguing Cave and the Cave Connection The country's signature spelunking experience: Sumaguing Cave — the "Big Cave," accessible from the town center. ~3-hour scramble through chambers, underground river crossings, rope-assisted climbs over rock formations (the King's Curtain, the Elephant, the Pregnant Woman). Wet, muddy, exhilarating. Cave Connection (Sumaguing → Lumiang) — for serious cavers: a 4-hour traverse connecting Sumaguing to the older Lumiang Cave, which contains stacked Igorot coffins from a different era. More demanding, requires advanced caving experience. Required gear — wear clothes you don't mind ruining; bring water shoes or sandals with grip. The local guides provide oil lamps (yes, real ones). Important: All cave tours require registered local guides through the Sagada Genuine Guides Association (SaGGAs). The cave is dangerous without one. The other Sagada experiences Kiltepan Viewpoint — the sunrise spot over the Sagada rice terraces. Early-morning trike ride (~30 min from town); on clear mornings, the sea of clouds settles in the valleys below. Bomod-Ok Falls (Big Falls) — half-day hike from Banga-an village; ~200 ft waterfall with swimming pool at the base. Lake Danum — late afternoon sunset spot, peaceful walk. Sagada Pottery — traditional ceramics workshop near the church, free to visit. Mt. Ampacao — half-day hike for views over the Cordillera. Where to stay Sagada accommodation is small-scale and atmospheric — no luxury chains here. The recognized properties: Sagada Heritage Village — heritage-style lodges, the recognized upper-tier stay. Misty Lodge & Cafe — boutique mid-tier, walking distance to town center. Coffee Heritage House & Hostel — coffee-farm property, mid-tier, popular with the affluent backpacker scene. Inandako's Bed & Breakfast — boutique B&B with character. Kanip-Aw Pines View Inn — pine forest setting on the way to Kiltepan. Bana's Cafe & Pinetree Lodge — mid-tier inn with the town's signature cafe attached. Sagada Homestay — original homestay-style accommodation, the budget option. For ultra-luxury Cordillera stays, members head back to Baguio (Manor at Camp John Hay, Forest Lodge) and pair with Sagada day-trip or short overnight. Where to eat — the Sagada food scene Sagada has one of the country's strongest small-town food cultures: Yoghurt House — the legendary Sagada institution. Homemade yogurt, lemon pie, mountain breakfasts. Always queued. Sagada Lemon Pie House — the namesake lemon pie + Sagada coffee. Cozy mountain cafe vibe. Bana's Cafe — Filipino breakfast and pinikpikan, mountain dining. Salt and Pepper Diner — casual dining, locally beloved. Misty Cafe — attached to Misty Lodge, breakfast scene. Sagada Brew Cafe — Sagada-grown coffee, the local roastery. The signature flavors: Sagada lemon — the local citrus, used in pies, marmalade, and dressings. Sagada coffee — locally grown Arabica, the country's recognized mountain-coffee origin. Pinikpikan — traditional ritual chicken (the ethical asterisk: the preparation method is controversial; some restaurants prepare it humanely). Etag — cured smoked pork, the Cordillera mountain protein. Sourdough — Sagada Pottery's sourdough bread is a quiet legend. Getting there Sagada is one of the country's more demanding destinations to reach — the ~12-hour journey is part of the experience: Manila to Sagada direct — Coda Lines overnight bus, ~12 hours. Departs from Cubao around 9pm, arrives Sagada around 9am. The most efficient route. Manila to Baguio + Baguio to Sagada — Victory Liner to Baguio (4–6 hr), then GL Trans bus to Sagada (~6 hr). Total ~12 hours but with stops. Private van with driver — ~₱8,000–12,000 from Manila, faster (8–10 hr) and more comfortable. Once in Sagada — the town is walkable; for outlying spots (Kiltepan, Bomod-Ok trailhead, Lumiang), hire a local trike (~₱150–300 per trip). Cross-thread links Pair this thread with: Baguio City (Benguet): Burnham Park & Strawberry Farm — for the Cordillera entry point and easiest access from Manila Banaue Rice Terraces (Ifugao): UNESCO Site & Batad Amphitheater — the UNESCO rice terraces, often combined with Sagada in a single Cordillera trip Kalinga / Buscalan (Kalinga): Apo Whang-Od Tattoo & Tribal Culture — for the traditional Whang-Od tattoo experience Vigan (Ilocos Sur) — heritage Spanish-colonial town, sometimes paired in a longer Northern Luzon trip (link TBD) For broader Cordillera trip planning, see the Cordillera Travel Guide parent thread. When to go November to February — the coldest months, 5–10°C overnight, sweater weather, peak holiday season. Christmas–New Year is the busiest window; expect Manila-style traffic on Sagada's narrow roads. March to May — pleasant cool weather (15–22°C daytime), the affluent summer-escape window. Holy Week is very busy. June to October — wet season; landslides possible on Cordillera mountain roads, cave tours occasionally suspended after heavy rains. Insider tips Book accommodation early for long weekends and Holy Week. Sagada has limited rooms; the affluent crowd books months ahead. Cave tours require registered SaGGAs guides — register at the Sagada Tourism Office on arrival. Wear clothes you don't mind destroying in Sumaguing Cave — mud, water, scraping rock. Bring a change of clothes for after. Kiltepan sunrise — leave the lodge by 5am to be at the viewpoint before sunrise (~5:45–6:15 depending on season). Bring warm layers; pre-dawn is genuinely cold. Sagada lemon pie at Lemon Pie House is a non-negotiable. Yoghurt House yogurt is a non-negotiable. No nightlife scene — Sagada quiets down by 9pm. This is the appeal. Cellular signal is spotty outside the town center. Most lodges have WiFi but it's slow. Bring cash — many spots are cash-only; ATMs are limited. Respect the burial sites — Echo Valley and Lumiang Cave are sacred Igorot spaces. No selfies on or near the coffins. Your turn. Current cave tour conditions, guide recommendations, Sagada lemon pie debates, recent road condition reports, accommodation tips, food scene updates, photography ethics around the hanging coffins. Sagada regulars — fill in. — MTC Mods

The 5-minute briefing on Manila's anchor 5-star hotel. The Peninsula Manila — The Lobby tea service, generations of acclaim, the default address for visiting heads of state. Quick housekeeping: The Peninsula Manila has been Manila's anchor luxury hotel since 1976. Operated by the Peninsula Hotels group (the Hong Kong-based legacy brand), it sits at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue in the Makati Central Business District — directly across from Ayala Triangle Gardens and the Greenbelt complex. Forum primer below. Why The Peninsula matters In Manila luxury hospitality, The Peninsula is the matriarch. For nearly 50 years, it's been the default address for visiting heads of state, international diplomats, business travelers requiring serious 5-star service, and Manila weddings at the top end of the budget spectrum. The Lobby (the hotel's atrium-style central space) is itself a Manila institution — afternoon tea here is an event. The Peninsula brand DNA (Hong Kong's Peninsula being the original) shows up in the service depth, the formal protocol, and the integrated Rolls-Royce limousine service. This is "Hong Kong luxury" applied to Manila. The property highlights The Lobby — afternoon tea service is a Manila institution; reservations recommended The Conservatory — Sunday brunch destination Old Manila — fine dining Mi Piace — Italian Spices — Asian The Peninsula Spa Pool deck and fitness facilities Rolls-Royce limousine service (Peninsula brand signature) Where to eat The Peninsula's dining roster includes some of Manila's most established premium restaurants. Old Manila, Mi Piace, Spices, and Sunday brunch at The Conservatory are member-cited anchors. Confirm current openings — Peninsula dining is consistently strong but rotates concepts. Booking notes Direct booking via peninsula.com typically yields the best rates and recognition. Peninsula Hotels loyalty program — Peninsula Hotel Group's "PenClub" benefits. Suites and corner rooms are member-recommended for Manila visits — views of Ayala Triangle and the Makati skyline. The Peninsula Suite is the property's top-tier accommodation; reserved for VIPs. Insider tips The Peninsula doormen are part of the institutional experience — they remember regulars. Afternoon tea at The Lobby — reserve ahead; the tea sandwiches, scones, and harp music are the experience. The Rolls-Royce service is bookable for select airport transfers and city tours — a Peninsula brand signature. The hotel's Christmas decorations and floral installations in The Lobby are a Manila photo destination during the holidays. Pair with Greenbelt — directly across the street, walkable. What's nearby Greenbelt (separate thread) — across the street, the Makati luxury shopping anchor. Glorietta (separate thread) — connected via overpass. Ayala Triangle Gardens — directly opposite, green space and underground walkways. Ayala Museum — 5-minute walk, Filipino art and history. Salcedo Saturday Market — 10-minute walk. Your turn. Tropical rainforest, rugged mountains including the UNESCO World Heritage listed Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary, killer surf and beaches lure travelers to the island of Mindanao. Mindanao’s capital – and the country’s third most populous city – vibrant Davao City has plenty of cultural, foodie delights and beaches just waiting to be discovered before you head to the island-province of Camiguin. As well as its tropical beaches, the latter is best known for its Mount Hibok-Hibok Protected Landscape of interior forest reserves (designated an ASEAN Heritage Park) and for its three National Cultural Treasures. Davao City’s Francisco Bangoy International Airport has flights from Singapore, Hong Kong, Doha and Quanzhou, as well as internal flights. Other domestic flights operate to and between several airports within Mindanao including the island paradise of Siargao. Hiking, diving, surfing and white-water rafting are just some of the exciting activities that await the adventurous in Davao Province and Camiguin, although wildlife encounters and visits to natural sites are high on the agenda too. Beaches promise relaxation, as do the likes of yoga and meditation with their associations with the Hindu-Buddhist traditions that influenced local life during the classic epoch of Philippine history. You might also consider a day-trip or overnighter to Lake Sebu a 4hr bus-ride (145km) southwest of Davao City – a growing ecotourism and adventure-sports destination as well as home to the T’boli and Ubo tribes. THINGS TO DO IN DAVAO & CAMIGUIN Trek to the top of Mount Apo in Davao province – the Philippines’ highest peak, at 3,144m, or the UNESCO listed Mount Hamiguitan (1,620m). Explore Davao City including the D’ Bone Collector natural history museum. Visit Davao Crocodile Park & Zoo with its wildlife shows and educational exhibits. Between Davao and the Cagayan de Oro, swim in Blue Water Cave in Bukidnon, and rappel, climb and spelunk nearby. Go white-water rafting in the Cagayan de Oro River with its electrifying rapids. Surf at Dahican Beach in Davao Oriental. Explore Camiguin’s historic gems: the Old Bonbon Church ruins and Sunken Cemetery in Catarman, Guinsilibas’ Spanish-era watchtower, Old Mambajao fountain and municipal building, Santo Rosario Church in Sagay town, and 14 heritage and ancestral houses. Immerse yourself in nature at Tuasan Falls on Camiguin island, a lovely spot to swim. Dive or snorkel at sites suited to all levels, especially those around Camiguin Island. Visit Davao’s luxury farm resorts Pearl Farm and Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation.

Last Holy Thursday (April 21) we went on a trip to Bagac, Bataan to a place called Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. Here's a description of the place from their website. A living museum of Philippine customs and traditions are re-born in a community typical of the 18th to early 20thcentury Philippines. Historical Principalia or noble class mansions, House of Stone or Bahay na Bato and Wooden Stilt houses that once, were old and decaying architectural pieces of a bygone era and slowly fading into the background of modern urban life are now, restored in a picturesque setting reminiscent of a Juan Luna or Amorsolo paintings. These architectural treasures that have been carefully and painstakingly reconstructed from different parts of the country and rebuilt, "brick by brick" and "plank by plank" now , stand resplendent with pride against a backdrop of majestic mountains, expansive rice fields and a running river that flows to the sea. Currently, there are twenty seven heritage architectures, each full with memories and history. Walking along village cobblestone streets or riding one of the caruajes (horse-drawn carriages) commands a feeling of nostalgia and wonder, romance and appreciation of simple living at its best. At Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, the legacy of our forefathers and the beautiful Filipino traditions live on. It is a step back into the past, reliving the age- old traditions and practices distinct to our culture, without leaving the luxury and comforts of the modern world. A showcase of Filipino talent, ingenuity and craftsmanship, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar takes pride in the past... And keeps its hope for the future. I took some photos of the place and here they are. For more info on the place, visit their site: Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Edited pictures to fit maximum allowed size.

The 5-minute briefing on Manila's design-led boutique 5-star. Discovery Primea — contemporary, intimate, the member-favorite for design and personalized service. Discovery Primea is the flagship of Discovery Hotels and Resorts, a Filipino-owned luxury hospitality group with properties at Boracay (Discovery Shores), Coron (Club Paradise — separate ownership now), and other premium destinations. The Makati property opened as the group's urban luxury showcase — boutique-scale, contemporary, design-led. Why Discovery Primea matters While the Manila 5-star scene is dominated by international brands (Peninsula, Shangri-La, Conrad, Marriott, Hyatt, Fairmont, Raffles, Dusit), Discovery Primea is the country's most-successful local entry at this tier. The pitch is "Filipino-owned, design-conscious, intimate scale" — for affluent Filipino travelers and aware international guests who appreciate the local luxury context. The property's contemporary architectural language, smaller scale (significantly fewer rooms than the international flagships), and personalized service give it a distinct character. Members who stay at Discovery Primea often cite it as their Manila default specifically because it feels less corporate. The property highlights Boutique scale — significantly smaller than the international 5-star flagships Contemporary, design-forward architecture Skye Lounge — rooftop bar with Manila skyline views, the property's signature Tapenade — Mediterranean fine dining Cor.Ner — casual all-day Pool deck and fitness amenities Personalized concierge service Where to eat Member-cited Discovery Primea restaurants: Tapenade — Mediterranean, the property's anchor dining Skye Lounge — rooftop cocktails with city views, the photogenic destination Cor.Ner — all-day casual Booking notes Direct booking via discoveryprimea.com for best rates. Discovery Hotels and Resorts loyalty program — useful for those who also stay at Discovery Shores Boracay or other group properties. Suites with skyline views are member-recommended. Smaller scale means service density is high — staff-to-guest ratio is favorable. Insider tips Skye Lounge sunset reservations — book ahead for prime sunset slots; one of Manila's signature rooftop venues. The boutique scale means quieter halls and more personalized service vs. larger 5-stars. Pair with Power Plant Mall (Rockwell) — 5 minutes by car, the boutique-luxury mall companion to the hotel. Combine with Discovery Shores Boracay for a Manila+Boracay trip on the same loyalty program. Design-conscious travelers consistently cite Discovery Primea as their Manila default. What's nearby Power Plant Mall (Rockwell) (separate thread) — 5 minutes, boutique-luxury mall. Greenbelt (separate thread) — 10 minutes by car. Ayala Avenue Makati CBD — 10 minutes by car. The 5-minute briefing on Marriott's Manila flagship. Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport — 5-star within Newport World Resorts complex, NAIA-side convenience. Manila Marriott Hotel is part of the Newport World Resorts complex (formerly Resorts World Manila) in Pasay, directly across from NAIA Terminal 3. For business travelers, transit passengers, and visitors prioritizing airport proximity, Marriott Manila is the most convenient 5-star in Metro Manila. Why Marriott Manila matters The NAIA Terminal 3 adjacency is the property's anchor advantage. Most Manila 5-star hotels require 20–45 minutes of travel from the airport (Makati, BGC, Ortigas — all distant). Marriott is across the street. For business travelers with short turnarounds, transit passengers with extended layovers, and any visitor who values not commuting through Manila traffic, this is the differentiator. The property also functions as part of the broader Newport World Resorts complex — guests can walk to the casino, the Newport Mall, theatre venues, and the broader integrated-resort dining without leaving the property. It's a self-contained universe. The property highlights 5-star Marriott standards Adjacent to NAIA Terminal 3 (covered walkway) Part of Newport World Resorts complex (casino, mall, theatre, multiple hotels) Pool deck and fitness amenities Marriott Spa Multiple dining venues M Club access (executive lounge) Newport's other hotels (Hilton, Sheraton, Hotel Okura Manila) are also within the same complex Where to eat Marriott Manila restaurant anchors include: Marriott Cafe — international buffet, breakfast and dinner Cru Steakhouse — premium steakhouse Crisostomo — Filipino fine-dining Greatroom — lobby lounge Plus access to the broader Newport World Resorts dining scene (30+ venues) Booking notes Direct booking via marriott.com for Marriott Bonvoy recognition. Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program — useful for frequent Marriott stays. M Club rooms include executive lounge access. Newport World Resorts package rates may bundle hotel + casino comp programs. Insider tips The covered walkway to NAIA Terminal 3 is a major asset — guests can transfer to the airport without arranging transport. Pair with Newport World Resorts casino — Marriott guests often combine hotel stays with gaming. Newport Mall is integrated — shopping without leaving the complex. Resorts World Manila theatre venues are within the complex. For Makati/BGC business meetings, Marriott is a 20–30 minute drive — workable but not adjacent like a Makati hotel. What's nearby (Newport / Pasay) Newport World Resorts (separate thread) — the integrated resort hosting Marriott. Newport Mall — integrated shopping inside the complex. NAIA Terminal 3 — adjacent via covered walkway. SM Mall of Asia (separate thread) — 10–15 minutes by car. Solaire Resort Manila (separate thread) — 10–15 minutes by car along the bay. Your turn. The 5-minute briefing on Fairmont's Manila flagship. Fairmont Makati — sister property to Raffles, Spectrum Sunday brunch institution, the larger Ayala Center luxury hotel. Fairmont Makati is the Manila outpost of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, the heritage Canadian-origin luxury brand. Located in Makati's Ayala Center, it shares the same tower as Raffles Makati but operates at a larger scale and with different brand positioning. For most guests, Fairmont is the more-accessible Ayala Center 5-star vs. Raffles' all-suite intimacy. Why Fairmont matters The Fairmont brand is one of luxury hospitality's heritage names — Banff Springs, the Plaza New York, Le Château Frontenac. Bringing Fairmont to Manila gave the Makati luxury cluster another international 5-star option alongside The Peninsula, Raffles, and the older Makati Shangri-La. Fairmont Makati is larger than Raffles (more standard rooms vs. all-suites), making it the more typical 5-star booking for business and leisure travelers. The two properties (Raffles + Fairmont) share the Spectrum dining venue, which is one of Manila's most-acclaimed Sunday brunches — and one of the most-cited Fairmont member experiences. The property highlights Larger room count than Raffles — typical 5-star inventory Spectrum — the international buffet, shared with Raffles, the brunch headline Café Macaron — French pastries Lobby bar — cocktail lounge Pool deck and fitness amenities Fairmont Spa Shares the tower with Raffles Makati — distinct service teams Where to eat Spectrum — the flagship international buffet, Sunday brunch is the marquee event Café Macaron — pastries and casual dining Lobby bar — cocktails and afternoon tea Rotating dining concepts — confirm current with members Booking notes Direct booking via fairmont.com for Accor recognition. Accor Live Limitless (ALL) loyalty program — Fairmont is part of Accor. Standard rooms and Fairmont Gold (Club) rooms — Gold tier includes executive lounge access. Suites at various tiers up to Presidential Suite. Insider tips Spectrum Sunday brunch — reservations essential, book 2–3 weeks ahead for peak weekends. One of Manila's marquee brunch experiences. Pair with Greenbelt — directly across the street. Fairmont vs. Raffles: Fairmont is the more standard 5-star choice; Raffles is the all-suite ultra-luxury alternative. Same tower, different experience. Ayala Center walking access — Greenbelt, Glorietta, Ayala Triangle all within 5 minutes. Loyalty benefits stack — Accor ALL recognition matters for Fairmont stays. What's nearby Greenbelt (separate thread) — across the street. Raffles Makati (separate thread) — shared tower, alternative configuration. The 5-minute briefing on the first integrated resort in the Visayas-Mindanao region. NUSTAR Cebu — ultra-luxury hotel, 9-hectare seaside property, and the destination that's reshaping Cebu's premium tourism scene. Quick housekeeping: NUSTAR Resort and Casino sits on Kawit Point on Cebu's South Road Properties (SRP), spanning 9 hectares as the first-ever integrated resort in the entire Visayas-Mindanao region. The property opened phased starting 2022, with the ultra-luxury NUSTAR Hotel unveiled in May 2025. For affluent visitors to Cebu, NUSTAR has effectively reset the city's high-end tourism standard. Forum primer below. Why NUSTAR matters Before NUSTAR, Cebu's premium tourism was anchored by Shangri-La's Mactan Resort, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, and a few boutique destinations. NUSTAR added a Las Vegas-style integrated experience — luxury hotels, ultra-luxury hotel, casino, dining, and a luxury maison shopping mall — at a scale Cebu had never seen. The property's three hotels target distinct audiences: NUSTAR Hotel — ultra-luxury, 223 rooms, the first ultra-luxury resort hotel outside Metro Manila Fili — 5-star Filipino hospitality brand, 379 rooms, celebrates Filipino craftsmanship Grand Summit — MICE-focused, business-traveler positioned With 1,000 total room keys planned across the three hotels, NUSTAR is a destination, not a stop. What's worth knowing The casino — two-level, 250 gaming tables, 1,500 electronic gaming machines, 21,000 sqm of gaming floor — the largest in the region. The Mall at NUSTAR (see separate thread) — 22 luxury fashion boutiques including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Bulgari. The first time these maisons opened in Cebu. 30+ dining outlets — casual food hall to fine dining. NUSTAR Convention Center (in development) — capacity for 2,000 delegates, will be the biggest in the region. Seaside setting — Kawit Point views across to Mactan Island and the strait. Where to eat Specific restaurant openings rotate; members will share current favorites in replies. The casino-resort scale supports both casual and fine-dining concepts. When to go Weekday evenings — calmer casino floor, easier dining reservations. Saturday nights — peak entertainment and crowd. Hotel stays — NUSTAR Hotel for ultra-luxury, Fili for the Filipino-curated 5-star experience, Grand Summit for business. Combine with SM Seaside Cebu — adjacent on the SRP reclamation. Insider tips NUSTAR Hotel is the property's marquee — book directly for best rates and recognition. The integrated mall (Gucci, LV, Bulgari) is unique in Cebu — separate thread covers shopping. Cebu City to NUSTAR is 20 minutes by car from the central business district. The Mactan Bridge is the natural route from the airport (MCIA) — 30–40 minutes depending on traffic. The 5-minute briefing on northern Metro Manila's first 5-star integrated resort. Solaire Resort North — opened May 2024 at Vertis Quezon City, the Bloomberry north-corridor play. Quick housekeeping: Solaire Resort North opened on May 25, 2024, at the Vertis Quezon City development. Developed by Bloomberry Resorts (the same parent as Solaire Manila in Entertainment City), this $1 billion property is the first 5-star integrated resort in northern Metro Manila — built specifically for the affluent north-corridor audience that didn't want to drive south to Entertainment City. Forum primer below. Why Solaire North matters For affluent Quezon City, Marikina, Caloocan, and Bulacan residents, Solaire North is the local 5-star integrated resort — a 30-minute drive instead of the 60–90 minute traffic crawl down to Entertainment City. The property's positioning is "Solaire-quality without the EDSA commitment." The location at Vertis (Ayala Land's QC development, adjacent to Trinoma) plus the Solaire brand recognition gave the property an instant audience. It's already become QC's destination address for high-end dinners, concerts, and gaming. The property highlights 526 rooms and suites — full 5-star hotel inventory 2,669 electronic gaming machines + 163 tables across four casino levels — significant gaming scale 1.5-hectare property — compact compared to Entertainment City Solaire, but full-service Theatre, multiple dining venues, retail Connected to the broader Vertis Quezon City master-planned development Where to eat The dining lineup includes premium restaurants — confirm current openings with members. The Solaire brand carries strong fine-dining curation; expect international concepts alongside Filipino fine-dining options. When to go Weekday afternoons or weekend evenings for the casino floor. Theatre events and concerts — Solaire North hosts major productions; check schedule. Hotel stays — newer property, often promotional rates available. Avoid Friday early evening — North EDSA traffic compounds heavily. Insider tips Solaire's loyalty program (Solaire Rewards) carries between Manila and North properties — useful for high-rollers and frequent players. Parking is integrated and ample — significantly easier than Entertainment City Solaire. Comp programs and table game structure mirror Manila Solaire — high-roller experience preserved. The Vertis location puts you walking distance to Trinoma — combine for shopping. Sound design and casino atmosphere are member-praised as polished and quiet vs. crowded. What's nearby (Vertis Quezon City) Trinoma (separate thread) — Ayala mall, walking distance. SM North EDSA — across the street, mass-market. Quezon Memorial Circle — 5 minutes by car. Hi guys, been ages and ngayon ko lang na figure out paano mag post ng queries dito hehe. So the question is... Besides V.C. and WOW hotels ano pa ma recommend ninyo or na experience nyo na hotel/motel na merong sex furniture? meaning tantric sofas, pedestal, tables, etc? Name/Locations and magkano damage sa room siguro pwede na.. importante yung durniture part hehe. Salamat sainyo... lets keep this convo going! 😁
