Ummm, nice piece of trivia. Where does Pilar Pilapil comes in? I think she came ahead of Alma in Pidol's lovelife. by the way...BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TITO DOLPHY!!! Hanggang ngayon, no one ever comes close to you entertaining us.
Pilar Pilapil was the girlfriend of Dolphy shortly after winning Ms. Philippines in 1967...her romance with Dolphy was shortlived..then after, Doy Laurel came into the picture...as everybody knows..and sired a daughter named Pia.

imee....anak sa pagkadalaga ni imelda
lotis key ....one of pidol's concubines.
Let me just make some correction..concubine is the proper label to describe her relationship with Dolphy. ..LOTIS KEY is ONE of the girlfriends who can lay claim to be one of Dolphy's the longest non-live in relationship - (9) years (she came AFTER Eric Quizons' Mom and before ALMA MORENO) ...She was the ONE Dolphy wanted to MARRY. Sa lahat ng naging serious involvement ni Dolphy dito lang siya HINDI nagkaanak..which was the reason why they broke up...and the wise decision of LOTIS not too have any...She is now happily married to a Pinoy and they reside in the Minneapolis-St. Paul. She works for an AIRLINE company as a Customer Service Supervisor. ..so if any of you happen to be in the Twin Cities area, at nagkaproblema sa airport..humingi kayo ng saklolo :-) Despite her popularity (and to some unfounded notorieity) she was never THAT showbiz. She was a family friend and was an "Ate" figure to me. She is even more beautiful IN person, and AS A PERSON...If she stayed, she would be a a good character actress playing mother roles in today's telenovela.

I just watched DREAMGIRLS on DVD (a bio-pic loosely based on The Supremes)... DIANA ROSS was THE Diva of the 70's.. For me, she was the prettiest Black singer/actress. I watched the entitled "MAHOGANY" (co starring Billy Dee Williams who was THEN the 70's version of Terrence Howard ::heart:) and i became an instant fan. I also remember her and her Disco break-out song "The Boss". I saw her recently on the AMERICAN IDOL her performance was so disappointing.

He DUMPED me years ago kasi hindi daw ako worthy  he married another girl.
Sobra ako devastated gusto ko magpakamatay.
5 years ako nag-suffer.. I thought hindi na ako makarecover... sobra nawala self-esteem ko pero God is good talaga he gave me a better man..
Fast forward 2007 .. Married pa rin siya. Married na rin ako.
Siya nakatira pa rin sa San Francisco Del Monte QC
Ako sa isang gated village sa Pasig City..
Talk about reversal of fortune....
I admit, ang babaw ko, Yes, I am gloating...pero it really does feel good to be richer than him now. I am just being honest.

Hi There!
The shop is right along the lane behind the shop that sells all the Golfing attire --on your left as soon as you enter the main entrance. There's 3-4 shops selling not just some MP3 but also audio discs in CD format as well. Three for PhP 100 ang price.
From that pile, I was able to get the following:
1. Best of the Tempattions
2. Best of the WHO
3. Maria Cafra
4. Best of Pinoy Swing music ( ayos ba? heheh -- couldn't help it! )
5. Circus Band
6. 70's Jazz compilation
If you can not locate the shop, just let me know and I'll burn one for you. I hold office at Tektite lang.
Cheers!
Thank you 16Track for the info and the recommended picks. I will head down to MW this afternoon.
Best regards.

Hheheh!
I just had a stroke of good luck last weekened.
Tyring to go over some audio CDs in one of the Metrowalk stores last Saturday, I could not believe my eyes when a rare album by a band from long ago almost seemed to jump up from the pile.
Yup.. indeed!
It was a "LIVE" recording of no less than the Circus Band!
I guess someone digitized an old viny and removed all the hiss as the CD sounded very fresh. Nice to hear Pabs, Basil, Richard Tan singing along with Tillie Moreno, Ceres Jacinto and Pat Castillo. I'm pretty sure Jacqui Magno is in the record as well as it seemed this was their big Araneta conert sometime 73 or 74.
Man.. Basil really sang his heart out in their version of "wildflower"! while Tillie Moreno and Pat Castillo exchanged duests in Sergio Mendes' "Waiting For love! Darn.. that Richard Tan has a cool set of pipes as well!
Cheers!
Which of the Stores in Metrowalk ???.... I want to get one too.
Info will be much appreciated. :thumbsupsmiley:

Time and distance is not a hindrance to love.

As for MALIKMATA, it was shown on Friday nights. I don't think Vic Diaz ever acted in the stories (in the series, yes, but not the stories). But the episode always began with him, a la "Twilight Zone" with Rod Serling. Vic Diaz was the face of MALIKMATA. This series was really scary.
Excuse me ..err pardon me then..My age was just a single digit then so the memory and recollection are somewhat hazy... :-/

Anong TV sitcom ito?
Bert Marcelo as Dyani - Janitor
Mely Tagasa - Cashier
Is it BALTIC & CO. ?(guess lang)
What about Jimmy Morato as TiSOY & Pilar Pilapil as the secretary name ????
BUHAY ARTISTA
TANGTARANGTANG
AND the Psycho-thriller / suspense series MALIKMATA. Meron silang episode about CANNIBALS starring Marlene Dauden & Vic Diaz - about a Man who married a lady (na cannibal pala, implied doon) he imprisoned her sa room para hindi makapatay then when he opened the door patay na..she ate herself. Gross!! I was so scared. Mga 8/9 years old lang yata ako noon.

A close friend of mine whose husband lost his job in 1997 and actually made a living off gambling for more than a year !! His game plan was to go to the Casino and play bacarrat everyday (parang office) for 8 hours 5 days a week with a capital of Php 10T a day. If he loses the 10T (in how long or short a time it takes him to ) he goes home - he does not try to recover it. If his winnings reach 10T (in how long or short a time it takes him to) he keeps it na - kung tinatamad na siya, uwi na agad pag hindi naman he plays whatever is in excess, win or lose (and most of the time winning more). Pag may windfall and his luck is continous he plays for the rest of the remaining time basta uwi siya after 8 hours maski tuloy tuloy pa ang suerte. His highest winnings in one day was 280T but he NEVER lost more than 10T on any day. He didnt have the attitude of a gambler na napipikon pag natatalo, kaya nababaon lalo or the feeling na ayaw tumigil hanngang hindi million ang panalo. When his wife computed his earnings (losses included) he actually cleaned out the Casino of 3.6M for 19 months.
Personally, I am averse to gambling.

Interesting thread..
We are earning and can buy the things we like and need.. May pera sa utang.. Wag lang magpapaloko masyado.. Kundi babagsak ka..
Agree. My brother's microfinancing business which is only 5 years has grown fifty-fold (even more ) in terms of assets. in barely 3 years (and with the seed money lang) he was able to make his company a microlending institution (SB Bonds, other govt requirements etc.) He is very good at it - from collection, account management, business development and investment (stocks) etc. Banks even trust him to re-lend (not sure of the term, marginal trading ba yon?).
His secret / and mantra(s) daw when he was just starting (for small biz/personal loans) was to look (1) POOR(er)(?) daw sa naguutang sa iyo; (2) Delay Gratification and (3) Cash is King.

I feel blessed that I have not yet asked anybody for a personal loan. I only use credit cards during times na medyo may naipit sa cashflow or at times emergency expenses/purchases. As a couple wala na kaming binabayaran dahil tapos na kaming magbayad sa bahay, lupa, sasakyan, insurance etc.. Ang pinagkakautangan lang namin ay ang school ng mga bata under their usual quarterly installment plan.
As for our business, nakakatulong ang loan facility for operations / expansion / investment but we try to keep it within limits na kayang saluhin ng receivables or supportahan ng negosyo. Unlike others who need to hock their land/house etc. as collateral sa mga banks na lulumpuhin ka, I get credit line from my brother whose business is in microfinancing. Although funds are from personal sources within the family, (the pressure and debt of gratitude) the interests, payment schemes are reasonable...puede ka pang mag-delay paminsan minsan kung talagang tight ang cash-flow.

Sabi nila the best people to meet are the simple folks/pinoys na taga-bukid (as in tiga doon daw talaga) - tunay na mamabait and you see the best Filipino traits - that of being selfless, matiisin, mapagkumbaba, and being generous maski salat na sila sa buhay. Very rare do you find filipinos like this in the CITY.

TORANA !!! Oh My :boo: My first time to be behind the wheel was in my older cousin's YELLOW TORANA that I used to learn to drive in the streets of UP Campus and Loyola Heights.

I remember TOWERING INFERNO.
The last scene(s) left an indelible mark (I actually cried) - yung nagtali yung dalawang bida (na parang na-in love doon) kasi bubuhos na iyong malakas na tubig at baka hindi na sila magkita / mabuhay after. I was not yet even a tweener then but i was moved by that scene.
If i remember right, Faye Dunaway was part of the cast.
I also like the OST "Morning After" sang by Maureen McGovern (yata) or is it Helen Reddy ????

FLEX time is the best work sked. As an entrep, my work sked is 24 hours, 7 days a week a 12 hour workday is regular for me.. though I can take off anytime or anyday i want to - hibernate, play truant or even declare my own work holidayssssssssssssssss when i do take off, its mostly for family-related matters. I dont mind the long hours, basta 3pm - 5pm on weekdays is sacred personal time - no important, pressing business matter can take this away from me ---- what do i do? pick up my sons from school and check out their HW I manage to do that because my office is just 10 minutes away from home.
