  1. How would you know guys if the thera was playing on yiu. Meaning when your inside the room or cubicle all things you have done with her like a wife material but after that like it was nothing happen. Does this mean your only good at the spa room? I would like to know from you guys who have experience it.

A spa is a place to relax and pamper yourself and not a place to find love. Regarding your question, always take things that the therapist says with a grain of salt and when she does things to you, always think that she also does it to other guests. It's simple as that.

  2. Technically speaking, Japan has two players in the NBA. Yuta Watanabe of the Grizzlies (two-way contract) and Rui Hachimura of the Wizards. Japan is not our whipping boy anymore so in the next FIBA-Asia, they should be meticulously planned against.

Even if the USA made minced meat of Japan in their game last night, Japan has to be respected in the Asian region.

On another note, I just noticed that the Serbian players have no ego. The Joker, who is the best center in the NBA, does not complain even if he does not start. I bet if Lechoke James did not start for Team USA, he'd have the coach's head.

  3.

Gilas will have to beat Tunisia on Friday and Iran on Sunday and hope that China loses both its games against Nigeria and Korea. If that happens, Gilas will finish with an overall record of 2-3 while China will finish at 1-4. If Gilas ties China at 2-3, China will most likely get the nod due to point differential, unless the hosts lose one of their classification games by a margin large enough to eclipse Gilas' average losing margin.

This goes without saying that the other Asian teams have to also finish with only one win at the most.

  4.

The overwhelming hype on the Gilas squad also led ordinary fans to stand up and wait, hoping for at least a proud fighting stand from the Philippine side—“Laban Pilipinas, Puso!”

It didn’t take a full half against Italy to expose that the qualities ticked off by the Philippine coaching staff were pure fiction.

The end result of a shallow and sick national basketball program—granting there’s one—saw the national team ending up as a primetime disaster.

Once again, there’s this tired call for reform and renewal.

    There’s urgent need for re-direction.

The Gilas Philippine basketball team can’t stay indefinitely as a national nightmare.

Mernwhile, there’s news that national beanpole Kai Sotto has grown another inch taller.

But, before everything else, they should muster some common sense and re-programming before plunging into the next Gilas national team venture, and be disappointed again; amidst the coming of the next 'Messiah,' named Kai Sotto

In fairness to Gilas, they had the most difficult group. Serbia is a potential champion while Italy had three current or former NBA players and ranked 13th in the world. We weren't gonna win against Serbia but we had a puncher's chance against Italy had Tab been the coach. Yeng let the players decide for themselves in the early going when it was obvious that Gilas needed a timeout to compose themselves in the Italy game. The Angola game was the most disappointing as Gilas had a chance to win the game in regulation. However, an imbecilic play by Perez cost us the game.

We qualified for the FIBA-Worlds and our team is one of the best in Asia. Before the SBP, we couldn't even be a top 3 team in the FIBA-Asia after 1986. We have been in two successive FIBA-Worlds and had two silvers in the 2013 and 2015 FIBA-Asia so our basketball program has improved by leaps and bounds. I remember when the BAP was at the helm of Philippine basketball, our basketball program was the "sick man of Asia". We got spoiled because of our recent successes in qualifying for the FIBA-Worlds and two silvers in the FIBA-Asia, one of which could have been a gold if not for the "Lutong Macau" in the 2015 FIBA-Asia finals that is why we think of our performance here as a debacle but in the context of Philippine basketball, we are at par with anyone in the Asian region and based on our performance in the 2014 FIBA-Worlds and 2016 Olympic qualifers, we are at par with the rest of the world. We are currently ranked 31st so our level of play is not far from the rest of the world except, maybe, the top 10 ranked teams. In the 2016 Olympic qualifiers, the number 3-ranked team in the world, France, beat us by 9 points only and ever led by 7 points at one point in the first quarter and that team had NBA stars, Rudy Gobert, Tony Parker and Boris Diaw.

Our basketball program is doing well. We just need a new coach. However, if we somehow qualify for the Olympics in this tournament, Yeng deserves to coach in the Olympics.

  5. It looks like it's gonna be a dogfight in the classification stage. We are grouped with Iran, Angola and Tunisia. We have games against Tunisia and Iran. Tunisia is a two-time FIBA-Africa champion so it will be a tough out. As for Iran, we are already familiar with this team. They still have Haddadi. This team had Puerto Rico on the ropes and would have advanced to the second round but they choked under pressure. The Iran-Gilas game has Olympic qualifying implications so I really hope we win this two games in order to have a chance to qualify in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. No more "hero-ball" from Perez and Ravena. The classification round will be an easier route to the Olympics as the Olympic qualifying tournament in 2020 will be tougher. If we somehow qualify for the Olympics in this tournament, as much as I am a Tab supporter, Yeng should coach the team for the Olympics.

Speaking of Puerto Rico, they had luck on their side as they beat Tunisia by three points via a late-game three pointer. Nakachamba sa Iran tapos nakachamba na naman sa Tunisia.

  6. Gilas made a spirited comeback from a 10-point deficit in the 4th quarter to almost win it. Perez and Ravena were the goats in this game. They had 5 seconds to shoot the ball but Perez seemed to be unaware until the last 2 seconds when he had to hoist a hurried shot which was way off target. He also bungled an easy layup that went in and out in overtime that could have tied the ball game. Blatche should have been aware of Reggie Moore when he made that crucial three-point shot to make Angola take the lead. On the offensive end, I don't know why Blatche had to take that fade-away shot in overtime when he could have just driven. The young guns, Ravena and Perez, gave us the lead but they were also the two goats. Perez is no doubt talented and is a franchise player but he needs to learn when to shoot and when to pass. Why Ravena over Castro? Castro is more controlled and would not have done what he did. If RDO, Castro and Alapag were on the team instead of Ravena, Pogoy and Perez, I am pretty sure we win this game.

  7. Tingin ko there are plenty of reasons kaya mas maganda performance natin nung 2014 compare this 2019

    1. Andray Blatche is more fit that time and fresh from NBA pa siya noon, and compare mo yung fitness niya ngayon.

    2. Fresh tayo on international competition sabi nga nila may surprise factor tayo that time

    3. Pagkakaalala ko andun na rin si Coach Tab Baldwin before and during 2014 FWC

    4. LONGER PREPARATION, nakapag tune up pa tayo noon with numerous teams at nag adjust si comm. Chito Salud that time pinaikli niya yung Governor's cup that time para may preparation yung nat'l team.

To be honest medyo nahihirapan rin ako para kay CYG kasi since he took over the national team parang puro short preparation binibigay sa kanya, 1 month na ata yung pinakamatagal na preparation niya.

    #LabanPilipinas

You showed good points but Italy was beatable. If Tab had been the coach and we stuck with the 2014 line-up, I think we pull off a surprise against Italy. Serbia was just too good for us. In my opinion, this is the best Serbian team ever assembled. We can't beat Serbia.

  8. I never considered this guy an elite coach. Anyone who coaches that Serbian team will win against the Philippines because, as far as I can recall, this is the best Serbian team ever assembled. This is Serbia's version of the "Dream Team". Yes, we are missing quality because we did not include Scottie Thompson and Jayson Castro. He didn't mention that we almost beat their neighbor,Croatia, a couple of years back with future NBA players Dario Saric and Bojan Bogdanovic (not to be confused with Serbia's Bogdan Bogdanovic).

  9. Kung gagawan naman ng batas sa Age limit ng Car sa edsa, sa tingin ko mas may pag asa pumasa or mauuna pa pumasa kesa sa i phase out ang jeepney. Sa jeepney kasi tsak may magrarally. Andyan yung grupo ng piston at mahaba habang isyu at balita sa tv yan which is iniiwasan ng mga politiko. Sa private car ba may nakita na tayong nagrarally? Wala di ba.

It is not about whether you rally or not. There were a plethora of schemes for private cars. Is it still being implemented? The private car owners don't need to rally as there are groups of private car owners that express their displeasure and call on politicians to intervene for them.

  10. Let me just put this here: Imelda Marcos endorsing Mayor Sanchez for clemency.

The Imeldific was requesting for executive clemency for Sanchez and asked the president to consider the GCTA for the granting of executive clemency. Mrs. Marcos did not do the heinous crime of rape and murder. She is just requesting for executive clemency in behalf of Sanchez. That does not make her an evil person. GMA granted executive clemency to a convicted plunderer. That does not make GMA an evil person. GMA executed it. Imelda merely requested for it. It is not a crime to request for executive clemency just as it is not a crime to grant executive clemency. Granting executive clemency is within the powers vested upon a president.

Moreover, Marcos granted executive clemency to convicted felon, BS Aquino II. Does that make President Marcos an evil person?

  11. Kunin coach yung coach ng Serbia.

    Akala ko UP ang malakas.

Serbia is gifted with NBA players and players who play within a stringent system. Djorjevic is a good coach but I think Tab is better. Serbia will still win even with Yeng Guaio as their coach.

Yes, UP has excellent individual players. However, my opinion changed after ADMU beat the Adelaide 36ers and NLEX, both professional teams which are supposedly better than ADMU, a college basketball team.

  12. Gilas has to win against Angola tomorrow to salvage some pride. We have the players but we don't have the coach who could take us to the second round. Yeng is a fine coach in the PBA but there's something wrong in his coaching even in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers. In the game against Kazakhstan, the the Kazakh bigs were sniping from the outside but Yeng still put Greg Slaughter in although it was pretty obvious he is not quick enough for the closeouts. When the Italians were running us to the ground, Yeng didn't even make adjustments to counter the defensive pressure of the Italians on us. Yeng is not just cut out to coach in the international game.

  13. i couldn't agree more to what you've written chief. this is where we separate coach tab from the rest of the pba coaches, i.e., the international game. i just cannot comprehend why the brain trust of sbp still has not made any move to appoint coach tab to take over the men's basketball team. you might have some insights on this chief. SBP MALAPIT LANG ANG KATIPUNAN!

I don't see any reason why Tab shouldn't be coaching the next Gilas team. The writing is explicitly written in the wall. His college basketball team beat an excellent professional Australian team which made the Finals of the NBL last year. Maybe ADMU would have had a more respectable showing had it been sent as the representative of the Philippines to the FIBA-Worlds.

  14. This is my opinion based on what I saw. Once the Skyway Stage 3 is finished, traffic on Edsa will be reduced significantly. The rationale being that the cars coming from Muntinlupa, Paranaque, and Las Pinas would use the Skyway. When the short part of the Skyway was opened from Quirino to Buendia, traffic was reduced significantly along Osmena. If only a short part was opened and it reduced traffic along a major thoroughfare, what more Edsa?

Nevertheless, emergency powers from traffic should still be given to Duterte even if only for two years.

  15. i agree chief...tab should be tapped the soonest so he can instill the system and mold the team into fighting form. i cannot think of any other coach who can take over coach yeng. coach rajko is now with indonesia.

as to ateneo, not yet my friend. we have a big target at our back. UP with ricci, kobe and juan is strong. so is your archers. but this is another discussion in the uaap thread.

SBP GISING NA. SABIHAN NYO NA SI TAB BALDWIN. nasa katipunan lang sya nakatambay

Yes, I hope the SBP brain trust realizes that Chot, Yeng, Tim, Norman or whichever PBA coach does not hold a candle to Tab in terms of coaching in the international game. Tab has a mastery of the nuances of the international game.

ADMU has talented players but it's the coach that is really the main advantage of ADMU, chief. In my opinion, if Tab was the coach, we'd still lose to Srbija but we will lose by a much smaller margin. Maybe 20 to 25. We also would have upset Italia had Tab been the coach.

  16. ateneo even beat the adelaide 36ers...the same australian team that beat the gilas national men's team in the 2nd game of their 2-game tuneup series. nice job coach tab.

I concede the UAAP title to Ateneo this year. I think it's time for Tab to take over. If Chot interferes again, the SBP should just tell him to shut his mouth. Puro daldal lang siya.

  17.

if you could see Italy and Serbs yung 2-3 players lang ang dumedepensa sa dribble play ng Team Pilipinas once caught ayun wala ng play.

Japeth can shoot 3pts though not a shooter pero wlang ganun play sa kanya.

makikita talaga yung agwat ng playing style ng European teams sa Team Pilipinas.

last game Angola sa nilaro nito against Italy kanina... 0-3 di malabo ito ang kartada natin sa WC this year!

Tingin ko kaya naman natin Angola. Masyadong malaki lang talaga yung Serbia at magaling. I am also questioning the coaching of Yeng. Kaya ni Yeng sa FIBA-Asia. He just can't cut it in the FIBA-Worlds.
