  1. There are 2 kinds of players in the stock market

    1. Investors

    2. Traders

     

    Investors are people who buy stocks and hold it for number of years. They buy equities based on fundamentals of the companies. These companies has a known products and even if the market is bearish they tend to appreciate in prices. But not all blue chips companies perform good in stocks there are times that these companies price go down and there are times that it shoot up. But the good thing is if you are a long term investors you will reap the profit once you exit.

     

    Traders are people who monitor the stocks everyday they buy stocks based on fundamentals and technical analysis. These people are skilled in predicting where the price of a certain stocks will go up or down and they make decisions based on their analysis. They buy and they sell for a short period of time depending on the trend they see. But most of them are sentimental so they tend to sell their stocks to cut loses but some take profits.

  2. I'm 45 years old and have been taking a combination of Lipitor 10mg (Atorvastatin) & Concor 5mg (Bisoprolo fumarate) for the past 8 years now and I am able to maintain my BP in the normal levels. Liver test along with other monitoring tests done every 6-8 months show the results are within normal ranges. I try to do my daily 30 min cardio exercise whenever I can but not as frequently as required. I go to my doctor for my monthly BP checkups and prescription for the drugs. I have been told that these medication are to be taken for life.

     

    Doc, my question is can I stop taking these medicaton right away and just watch my diet and do regular exercise?

     

    My internist doctor also told me that my medication is for a lifetime, which I am not convinced I check the net and found some natural treatment for the hypertension but of course, I have to consult a professional first so I go to a cardiologist. First she checked me and gave a medication, then she wants me to monitor my BP for 3 months and she will decide if we're going to stop my medication or lower the dosage. That is, most doctors will tell you that your medication should be taken for life which I don't agree. At least I found a cardiologist who shares my opinion that if we follow certain diet and medication there is a possibility that you can control your BP to a normal level and have those medication stop.

     

    Hope our fellow doctors here in MTC share their knowledge and opinion about this.

    I would like to have a check up for my cardio condition @ my age of 39. Pls refer me to a good cardio specialist from MCU hospital in Monumento Caloocan. TIA

     

    The best time to check you BP is after you wake up from bed in the morning, try to check your BP for 3 consecutive days, if it is high than normal 120/80 then you need to see a doctor for proper consultation/medication.

  4. migrated to canada already.. almost a year since my last post d2 sa BP thread.. my doctor here wanted me to cut my 25mg therabloc in two. 12.5mg na lang per day.. Unti untiin nya daw akong tanggalin sa medication ko nung isang beses na nagpacheck up ako sa kanya.. nalimutan kong magtake ng meds pero mababa pa rin sa normal yung bp ko.

     

    That's good bro, pero anong naging exercise routine or diet mo para bumaba na yung BP mo, share mo naman. Thanks!

  5. Technically speaking no because you have different purposes for those 2 visas. If you travel on your H1 visa, they may verify if the job you were petitioned for is still open and if they find out the employer who petitioned you has withdrawn the job offer, you would be sent back to the Philippines. They might consider this act of yours fraudulent impose sanctions.

  7. That is true, landing a job in UAE is very difficult. I had stayed there in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi for 2 months and never extended my stay. I usually look at Gulf News Paper for ads. I was also amazed here because job seekers also advertised to look for an employer. It was a "WOW MALI" when i called somebody whom i thought is a company. He mentioned that he is also looking for a job and not advertising for a job opening. I takes 3 hours travel time from Ruwais to Abu Dhabi, so imagine if i am going to apply in ABu Dhabi i have to wake up at 4 am to be able to catch my brother's company bus to reach the city.

     

    My brother who decided to stay managed to land a good job. But it takes 6 months for him to find one. He usually go to Kish island while waiting for his new visa, it is good that my other brother is there also to support all his expenses.

     

    So for people who dream of working in UAE -Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Al ain (these are 4 states of UAE where number of Filipinos exist) think twice. If you have a relative that can support you there its ok but if you dont have you have a lot of sacrifices to make a lot of money to spend. You might end up going home empty handed....

  8. Wahhh!!! Napaka mahal ng Pineapple dito sa lugar ko ngayun, gusto ko ring mag lose ng weights, is there any alternative aside from Pineapple?

     

    FYI, i'm staying now in a country where tropical fruits are really rare kaya medyo mahal siya. Somebody out there please, can suggest some high fiber fruits which can be found in cold countries

     

    There are food suplement na rich in fiber i just forgot the name of that capsule. maybe you can inquire in drugstore there, it will greatly help you loose your weight and maintain your BP normal.

  9. Examples of Moderate-Level Physical Activities

     

    Sporting Activities:

     

    1. Playing volleyball for 45–60 minutes

    2. Playing touch football for 45 minutes

    3. Walking 2 miles in 30 minutes (1 mile in 15 minutes)

    4. Shooting baskets for 30 minutes

    5. Bicycling 5 miles in 30 minutes

    6. Dancing fast (social) for 30 minutes

    7. Performing water aerobics for 30 minutes

    8. Swimming laps for 20 minutes

    9. Playing basketball for 15–20 minutes

    10 Jumping rope for 15 minutes

    11. Running 1 1/2 miles in 15 minutes (1 mile in 10 minutes)

     

     

    Common Chores

     

    1. Washing and waxing a car for 45–60 minutes

    2. Washing windows or floors for 45–60 minutes

    3. Gardening for 30–45 minutes

    4. Wheeling self in wheelchair for 30–40 minutes

    5. Pushing a stroller 1 1/2 miles in 30 minutes

    6. Raking leaves for 30 minutes

    7. Shoveling snow for 15 minutes

    8. Stair walking for 15 minutes
