So kumusta yung chibugas sa Banawe? Sorry at di ako umabot, medyo naipit ako sa isang resto sa Manda kasama ng cliente

Sir EREHWON...... last night, me and sir HOPIA_MANI_PAPKORN have started the 1st of many food trip EBs to come in the weeks to come.

FOR THE FUN OF IT, we have been thinking of a group name and have come up with a few unofficial names in which to call ourselves.

1) MTCs Food Brigade
2) Food Lovers Society
3) Food Trip Society
4) Food Masters
5) Matakaw Incorporated

We're starting out small and using the Banawe area as starting point (because of proximity), eventually we hope to try out food places in farther areas, and you're most definitly invited to join us in out next Food trip EB.........

Sayang Banawe isn't what I call a geographically desirable area for me generally. Kaya lang definitely will keep in touch. Saan kayo kumain dito?

Para sa pangalan, meroon din akong suggestion, Baboy Boys. LOL.

FR later this afteroon.

suggestion ni sir EREHWON

6) BABOY BOYS

You do understand that there's a possibility in the near future that ladies might be interested to join us..... so I think making it a "for the boys" name might not be that good. anyway, your suggestion has been noted.

you might probably be referring to CHINATOWNS BEST FOOD which is a block away from retiro if you're coming from Del Monte Ave. They say that their PATA TIM is one of their specialty (although Im not a fan of PATA TIM)

Anyway.... a group name for our Food Trip EBs is not really that important. Like I said.... just for the FUN OF IT.

by all means...... a lady friend's opinion on our food choices wouldn't hurt.

the thai resto Im referring to in banawe is Muang Thai. coming from Quezon Ave. I think its just a block away from Maria Clara St.

To start our so-called planned “Food Trip” EBs.... me and sir HOPIA_MANI_PAPKORN decided to go back to Shanghai Hand-Pulled Noodle House as our first venue. (because we are still in budget mode) and for the fact that I am a big fan of eating Mami (whether instant or freshly cooked)

We met up at the eatery around 8:30pm and I (upon the recommendation of a friend) decided to try the Dry Shanghai Beef Noodle...... which is basically the noodles topped with the beef and some sauce with the broth placed in a separate bowl. I also decided to order the fried cuchay dumplings since I already tried their steamed version twice already. Sir HOPIA opted for his “now” favorite Shanghai Beef Noodle (soup version).

With regards to the cuchay dumplings, I would have to say that I now like the fried version better. Guess the little oil that was used for frying kinda added more flavor to the dumpling.

Fried Cuchay Dumplig

After trying their broth without the noodles and other ingredients, I can tell that they used some herbs to give it its great flavor........ unfortunately, in its pure soup form, the taste of the herb tends to be a bit overpowering. The noodles is still a joy to slurp and chew, but again...... without being mixed into the soup, the noodles and the beef tend to be a tad too salty for me. So my recommendation: Order the noodles with soup version.

With Soup on the Side

It was a very satisfying, tasty and filling meal for the both us.

Total bill for two orders Shanghai Beef Noodle (1 dry and 1 soup version) plus 7 pieces fried dumpling amounted to a total of P 275.00.......... not bad for someone in budget mode.
