tyronepagong
NAIA is the worst international airport I have been to. It is an embaressment to the countryI have seen a lot worse like Mumbai and Tripoli airport. Magpapasalamat ka na may NAIA tayo. Quote Link to comment

manutd1
True, NAIA is very unpleasant to look at. No good food, guests can't even enter the airport. The only thing I like about it is Free Wi-Fi haha. I really love the airports in Hong Kong, Munich, Chicago, and Denver though. Quote Link to comment

My former boss who has been around for quite sometime said that the reclaimed area that stretches from Paranaque up to Pasay and to where MOA is also located was the original site of the new terminal along with a new runway. Kung sakali pala walang MOA dun and other establishments. Quote Link to comment
shrike
Since I posted last year on the same issue, naka 4 na byahe ako, 2 business and 2 personal. Now that I'm aware of the issue, I tried dressing down nung nagpersonal trip kami sa BKK (usually I don smart casual on trips, baka naman sa porma tumitingin ika nga), this time nag safari shorts ako (luma na), sleeveless NBA jersey and leather sandals na luma (tipong bibili lang sa palengke). courteous naman lahat ng dinaanan namin from trolley stand, (sumalubong agad), sikyu sa entrance na nagchecheck ng luggage (may good murneng at maayos humingi ng ticket and passport), security entrance (tinulungan si esmi sa bag niya) hangggang check-in (nakapili ng upuan) btw T2 yung venue. Ok rin naman yung manners nila pag ako naman susundo (sumundo ako ng 6 px on separate days) this month. di naman ako nasisigawan o napapatabi, in fact napakiusapan pa nga na i-meet ko mismo sa ramp (off limits sa wellwishers) ng makita ko na hirap sa bagahe yung matanda (kita sa screen di ba pag nasa ramp na padating pag NAIA). naka tsinelas po ako ng mangyari yun. siguro goodmanners begets good manners. superdan
korek..medyo maayos-ayos pa ang luma nating NAIA.. re: SG, nag-ayos-ayos na sila ng kanilang mga manners and how they treat the passengers and guests... kaso medyo lax pa rin security measures natin and minsan naman ay OA... re: Immigration Officers........wala pa ring pinagbago...ganun pa rin sila, mas malala pa ang treatment nila sa kapwa nila pinoy...di tulad sa ibang mga airports /terminals... their locals treat their own locals with high importance Sana mabago na ganitong sistema Quote Link to comment
blueflower
Quote Link to comment
knoll1234
the people who manage NAIA do travel around the world and consult with other international airport authorities and management, yet NAIA continues to be inferior in design , infrastructure, manpower and security etc, still I would rate as second class. look at hkg, icn, nrt AIRPORTS they are managed very very well and a showpiece of their respective countries. poljax
I may not very well-traveled to comment on this... but is there any other airport in the world who charges "Terminal Fee"? Quote Link to comment
knoll1234
To further the interest of a nation of OFW's , THE NAIA SHOULD BE A SHOWCASE OF THE PINOY NATION TO THE WORLD, ... our's is not, ours is the showcase of what pinoys are, no WILL to better itself, I can say I poorly rate this airport. It is only in pinas that people crowd the entrance to the buildings. It is not spacious inside, it is bereft with basic amenities. the comfort room makes you throw up because of the smell and non functioning toilets. Add that to the agents at baggage area whispering " sir, Ma'm konting pasalubong naman.", what the @##$$$, that makes me feel sad. are we not paying these employees enough???? they have to scourge for loose change from travellers. WHEN CAN I WRITE SOMETHING IN HERE THAT WOULD PROVE ME WRONG??? Quote Link to comment
hellyeah1
Quote Link to comment
ex_pat
With the exception of airports in North America and Europe, there are Terminal Fees/Departure Fees/Exit Fees/Airport Fees, or whatever you want to call it. NAIA is not alone in collecting a fee upon taking a flight, as this happens all over Latin America and Africa. Incidentally, if you look real close at a receipt of a ticket bought in North America with the ticket price broken down, you will see a line item for 'Passenger Facility Charge' or 'Airport Facility Charge'. The airports there get their fee money too, but it is built into the cost of the airline ticket when you purchase it. Hope this helps. I may not very well-traveled to comment on this... but is there any other airport in the world who charges "Terminal Fee"? RiverJordan
The last time I flew PAL was back in 1992 to visit and the last two times I've flown SIA which meant I've disembarked at the old terminal and not the new one which seems to be reserved only for PAL and other domestic carriers. I like airports, it's a different atmosphere but unfortunately NAIA Terminal 1 seems to be stuck in the dark ages. The only other International Airport that I've been to which is worse is Skopje, Macedonia. I've heard that Terminal 3 is a hundred times better but unless you fly with PAL, you'll never get to see it. We have a contingent of friends and families travelling to Manila in the next few months, most of my friends are well travelled but I'm pretty sure they'd be shocked at what this "International Airport" has to offer. It disappoints me that this airport will be their first impression of the Philippines. Does MIAA even care? it doesn't seem like it. here are a few comments on the web regarding this airport: "the worst airport on the planet. It has to be experienced to be believed. Think of a bombed out ruin and you'll get some idea." (Brenty) "I've been to almost all the airports in the worlds but i just cant compare Manila Airport to those rising 3rd world countries. Seem that NAIA is left out in the DARK age." (TPMAN 199) "If you find a seat be prepared to defend it at all costs!" (Big Tone) "Philippines Airport = not very nice (except for the new terminals of PAL). Overnight in a Manila Airport = NO NO NO" (Seb) "that airport employees are the worst money hustlers around." (Steven) "Everywhere everyone asks for bribes. Never offer them anything. Act as if you do not know what they are saying and just walk past them. " (Native Filipino) Tourism brings in money too. niceNslow.2
I disagree with arrogant sekyu at T3. Quote Link to comment
Guest Serenity12
I agree that Naia 1 is depressing - it looks like a market place all the time. But the toilets are even more depressing. Quote Link to comment

cuatro_ojos
Naalala ko nung dumating ako sa Manila in 2008 and I had to use the toilet. Edited June 9, 2011 by cuatro_ojos Quote Link to comment
kempaf
Quote Link to comment
vanillaLatte
Nakakainis kasi minsan inaagaw pa yung bags ko to "help" even if I don't need it. So fcking hate it. Lagi kong sinasabi, domestic man or foreign, "Ako na ho, malakas ako." E most of my trips don't even last a week. Peste. One time I took the wrong bag and had to go back to claim my stuff and return the other which wasn't mine. I was asked what was inside, ano raw mga pasalubong ko, san daw ako galing.... I had the feeling na gusto nila bigyan ko sila ng kung anu-ano bago nila i-release yung maleta ko. And, take note, puro mga ale tong mga ito. Akala yata nila lahat ng galing abroad e mayamang mayaman. I was out of the country for a very busy assignment and didn't even have enough shopping time for my family! I was so tired, kaya rin siguro 'di ko na napansin na iba 'yung luggage kong nakuha. Tapos ganon pa yung mga babae. Buti nga sa NAIA 3 may Ministop and Jollibee, makakakain ka ng hindi tinataga ang presyo ng food, unlike in NAIA 1. Decrepit pathetic international airport. Was there a few weeks ago and the restrooms in the waiting area aren't functional. So if you have to go, you will have to drag your hand-carry up the stairs, use the bathroom, then go back to the waiting area. Awful. Quote Link to comment
