That John Waters is no unfinished business now. It is finis.

Ā

But it seems a year later, my unfinished books have multiplied:

Ā

Rise And k*ll First

Ā

The Reproach of Hunger

Ā

...and that fearful doorstopper Black Lamb and Grey Falcon, by Rebecca West, which I havent returned to for years now. And yes, Don Quixote, the Edith Grossman translation, whose Part Two or Three I did not read anymore. And Asymmetry, by Lisa Halliday, which I discarded after less than ten pages.

Ā

Henry Hitchings said:

Ā

"An unfinished book is an accusation, staring at you menacingly".

Ā

If this is the case, several books in my shelves are now throwing me dirty and dagger looks. Maybe this is the reason why I feel a sense of dread everytime I step into my small library.
