There must be something about story-telling then.

That can arouse what has long died down lol 😊

Yes, because we were still young in those stories. lol

But I don't think age has the ability to dampen what you call "arousals".

Interesting read. More than her art, it was actually the eloquence that caught me.

Lol

My favorite movie, "A Few Good Men."

Col. Jessup (Jack Nicholson): You want answers?

Kaffee (Tom Cruise): I think I'm entitled to.

Jessup: You want answers?

Kaffee: I WANT THE TRUTH!

Jessup: YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Classic.

But not as classic, of course, as some of your stories, perhaps.

Not as classic as the men in my story book 🙂. Glad to have lived this life meeting, dating, hanging out with, listening to, learning from all kinds of men.

Especially the wise ones.

I find it hard to believe that the stories can just end.

Just like the movies nowadays, prequels and sequels galore :)

Classic as in Cary Grant classic? Or classically lout, as in Marlon Brando, or James Dean, or Harrison Ford - those swashbuckiling types?

I hope you're not referring to wiseguys, as they are always trouble.

There's always a book in every woman, and yours I'm sure is full of colorful chapters.

A real page-turner. A can't-put-down book. A staying-up-all-night-till-you-reach-the-climax kind of book.

I meant denoeument, not climax.

Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart type 😊

As my ex would say Heres looking at you, kid ❤

We all have those pages in our book that are just colorful enough to make the rest seem colorless.

I hope someday Id get to write a book on living, loving, dying.

Parang Lion King lang haha. #circleoflife

P.S. I would have preferred climax 😊

I suppose mine is a coloring book - waiting for the colors. lol.

Bogart, yes. Forgot about him. Not handsome, but still.

Play it again, Sam; songs have no climax, and Ingrid Bergman was one unforgettable beauty.

I think shes one of the prettiest faces that God has ever created 😊

Theres so much to look forward to if you have all those pages uncolored. Its better to color outside the lines, disregarding boundaries, and see where it takes you 😊

Offhand I can't think of any. There's just a lot, and there's just a lot of those "classic" movies I haven't seen, and those that I have seen, I confess I can't understand, like 2001: A Space Odyssey.

All I can mention are those excellent movies which I liked and would not hesitate to see over and over again:

The Godfather, Part I and Part II

Annie Hall

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Dog Day Afternoon

Midnight Cowboy

Knife In The Water

Taxi Driver

Wait Until Dark

The Usual Suspects

Deliverance

The French Connection

Sicario

Ronin

Before Sunrise

Before Sunset

There may be more.

So educate me. What are the must-see classic movies that I should see in this lifetime ?

Oohh. Films! I love movies.

There are a lot of must-see films that you should see. I will only list the English-language ones that I've seen quite a few times (and maybe more). I'll reserve the foreign language ones for another post--if you're interested in them as well.

Off the top of my head:

Casablanca

Double Indemnity

Sunset Boulevard

Notorious

Mr. Blandings Builds a Dream House

Brief Encounter

The Third Man

Make Way for Tomorrow

Touch of Evil

The Lady Eve

Rear Window

The Apartment

Out of the Past

Stagecoach (1939--not the 60s remake)

The Awful Truth

From Here to Eternity

In Cold Blood

12 Angry Men

Citizen Kane

The Maltese Falcon

His Girl Friday

I refrained from adding any films from the 70s to the present since the term "classic" normally (and quite mistakenly--by canon) encompasses the years between the 30s-60s.

So there. :)
