Credit Card Talk

nangyari na rin sa akin yang nangyari kay circleguy (Citibank Visa)

ako kasi, i just keep my CCs sa wallet inside the car.

one time, may dumating sa akin na statement, na may mga purchases sa amazon tsaka mga subscription sa mga porn sites. i don't use my cards online so nakakagulat. disputed all transactions, pero medyo matagal nai-reverse. inabot din ata ng 3 months. during the dispute, i told them that i will not pay for the transactions as well as any interests incurred on the transactions. inayos naman nila and they issued me a new CC.

How much bro yung AMAZON and porn sites umabot? I pay my bills in full each time kaya buti nalang ganon ginagawa ko kaya di ako pwd lokohin sa interests, how many correspndences did you make para reverse nila mga yon? mine were all pending at wala pa ako narerecv na bagong statement, they assured me though na it wont show up at all sa statements ko, this i got to see first. Did Citibank mail you a letter or call you up to investigate some more? sakit lang ng ulo and sleepless nights nangyayari sakin

yung amazon, 150 USD.

yung porn site na isa 50 USD

yung isang porn site, 45 USD.

one-time correspondence lang. and citibank just called me once. next month's statement ko, reversed na ang lahat ng transactions, tapos after a week, tinawagan ako ng customer service nila telling me na to stop using that card, and they will issue me a new one with a new account number. after around a week, dumating na yung new card.

After some back-reading, I have noticed that Standard Chartered have the most complaints..

I have two Standard Chartered cards (VISA and Mastercard).. And I usually have problems with their Customer Service Representatives (the ones who handle the calls) because they are not properly trained.. I usually call twice or even thrice just to be sure that I won't get misinformed..

Example: I have been asking for waivers on my annual fees ever since.. And everytime, I am having problems with their CSR's.. Just this month, one CSR said that if I want to have a waiver my points will be deducted.. I was furious coz this was not the case last year.. I told the CSR that I am a transactor (a person who pays all outstanding balances every billing) and I have the right to ask for a waiver without my points getting deducted.. I demanded to talk to her manager..

She said she can not give her manager to me.. Protocol daw.. I insisted until she gave in.. When I talked to the manager, the manager was apologetic and said to me that my request for a waiver on my annual fees will be done ASAP.. And my points won't get deducted.. She said the reason is because of my paying habits.. See? E kung naniwala ako agad sa hunghang na CSR na iyon.. :thumbsdownsmiley:

Hindi lang ito minsan na nangyari.. Everytime I ask for waiver of their annual fees, this incident happen.. That is how stupid Chartered's CSR's are.. Just think about, I have had these cards for over 4 years.. apat na taon na din akong naasar sa kanila..

I continue to use my SCB cards because of the big limit they gave me.. I am not interested in card companies who only give me a 40-50K credit line.. I also have one with HSBC.. I have no intentions of not using my SCB cards.. Why? Hayaan mo silang magkagulo everytime I call dahil galit ako kapag nagrereklamo ako sa kanila.. Pati Marketing Department nila nabubulabog eh.. My requests (so far) have not been turned down pa naman..

^I always get a waiver from standard chartered. every year, for the past 5 years, i call to terminate my credit account. the standard chartered card csr always asks why. and i always say that "i received several pre-approved cards from other banks, that i no longer wish to continue using standard chartered so i can save on annual fees. Then they insist that i retain the card, they will waive the annul fees. hence, i have not paid a single annual fee.

mga bro, i'm having a hard time applying for a credit card, I have applied for about 4-5 times na siguro and always get disapproved. Ano ba talaga ang kelangan nila in conducting Credit Investigation? I live with my relatives, we don't have a landline. I'm 24 years old, I have our electric bill under my name and always pay for it. I am currently working in a callcenter for 11 months now. Can you guys tell?

I think the reason why they keep on disapproving you is that you have not really convinced them on your security of tenure.. Meaning you have not been in your current workplace for a year.. Try applying after your 12th month.. Kasi baka kapag tumatawag sila sa HRD niyo, your HR informs them na kaka-regular mo pa lang.. Kasi di ba may probation months usually ang mga companies.. That is my take..

This is true to all credit card companies.. If you don't want to be charged interest for the whole amount of your billing statement, pay all balances.. Hwag magtitira kahit centavos.. Kung hindi, you would be charged interest on the whole amount, kahit na cents na lang ang natira.. Ganyan ka-grabe ang credit card companies sa pagcha-charge ng interest..

to all credit card masters,

i had a PNB VISA Credit Card with 10K limit way back. my 1st card actually. i went away for several months and left my card with my family (mother at sis). masyado ata akong natagalan sa pagbalik at nakalimutan kong magbayad. :P ayun, cut na ung card. til now e di pa rin ako bayad. e mas maayos na ung finances ko ngayon kaya gusto kong mag-apply ng credit card. e di ba bad credit na ko 'cause of my previous card? how can i fix my credit status para makapag-apply uli ako ng credit card?

nag-apply ako sa Citibank for a MasterCard Gold Card just before this holy week via online. na-fax ko naman ung mga requirements kaso holy wednesday na. ang iniisip ko e baka hindi nila na-recieve o nakita. after some time, naka-recieve ako ng letter from Citibank stating that my request for credit card was rejected. :( di ko tuloy alam if due to my previous credit or late fax of docs.

nag-apply din ako sa HSBC ng MasterCard Gold Card via online. i emailed my docs to the specified email addy. til now e la pa rin response. noong april pa un.

MasterCard Gold lagi apply ko kc abot naman ako sa required monthly income. PhP 840K/annum NET Income ko.

by the way, noong PNB days may landline ako, ngayon wala na. ngayon, meron akong two (2) mobile postpaid lines from Globe. will that suffice to be an alternative for a landline?

i hope you can help me. thanks you in advance, credit card masters. :)

open ka account sa BPI.....then after a few weeks o months apply ka credit card, ang alam ko kasi...automatic nila approved ang account holder nila, credit limit is half of your present account.... sa iba naman, basta may statement of account or ITR, employment certificate, binibigyan nila. sa laki ng kita mo 840k p.a., i doubt kung hindi ka nila bibigyan. pero ask ko lang...why do you need credit card with that kind of salary ? why not use debit card or atm for your shopping needs?

Gold Credit Cards (whether it is Citibank, Metrobank, HSBC etc.) is meant to be a debit card (meaning you eventually settle your bill thru debit from your savings account) so you will not be charged of interest. It is just a way of extending your cash for a month and at the same time earn points for using the card and avail special offered discounts at various establishments. Why pay cash for purchases right away while you can extend to pay it after a month. Just be wary to pay your bills on time and manage your credit that it will not surpass your monthly budget or earnings. It is like getting more value for your money. Di ba Revi

Not all the Gold Credit Card is debit card. And I will not want them settle my bills thru my saving account! Thinking the min credit limit is around 200k. And if some thing happen. You saving account will be less 200k.

If you want more secure. just apply a local credit card(can't use it in other country and internet). So they can't charge you thru some pron site account or auction site.

just recently had my annual fee waived for both my american express main and extension cards - thanks to your tips. i was also gladly surprised to find out later that they have reversed the late payment charges when i overlooked my payment due date. oh i forgot to mention that i also got a free mont blanc pen worth approx. 13k when i got this card in the beginning.

credit is very handy in an emergency

here and abroad, when your short of cash

you can book a hotel room, rent a car, pay for fuel, book an airline ticket

and some institutions will, a credit history is a must
