Hi guys, a little off the topic, they say pldt is using fiber optic cable, do you know what cable is this? Ex Cat5 cables? Electrical supplies in manila are not familiar with optical cable by pldt, tnx

I think this means they run their enterprise network on fiber optic, but the cables that run to your house and to your modem are either coaxial or a dsl cable (looks like a telephone cable). Cat5 and Cat6 are ethernet cables that you connect to your router or switch.

Gusto na naming mag subscribe pero ilang areas pa lang ang mayroong fiber optics.

Sa Globe meron ba?

Thanks.

Depende sa area. Better to request for a week trial so you may experience and speedtest yourself or ask around, e.g. neighbors about their connection and experience.

DSL still reliable! Though, I haven't tried using cable broadband. Commonly, connection without a physical wire or just using signal will depends on the location if you will have a good or bad connection.
