simpatiko
I'm in Dubai for almost five months now. Tulad ng karamihan sumugal din ako.. I don't have the slightest idea gano kahirap kumuha ng work here till I came, adminsitrative position pa hanap ko. I was on a Visit Visa then, pero ang lamang ko lang nandito brother ko and his family who supported me noong jobless ako. It took 38 days bago ako mgkawork. Swerte ko lang kasi I got the job I want (more or less, sa Pinas kasi sa HR ako, dito pure recruitment), UK-based company, nakapagnegotiate for good salary and benefits package kahit wala akong gulf experience, I was given a residence visa before my Visit Visa expired, and open contract, it may be terminated by either party by giving four weeks written notice. So I can leave the company anytime I want (incase a better opportunity comes), they can fire me anytime they want - walang ban... And the best part is, sobrang ok ang boss ko... She recommended me for regularization after 3 months and was given an increase and pasok na ako sa commission/bonus scheme ng company. Whenever a friend or a former colleague ask me if ok dito, sinasabi ko ang totoong condition ng mga pinoy dito. Mahirap makakuha ng work, high cost of living, the Kish story, etc etc etc... nasa kanila na if they still want to go. Sabi ko pray hard and ask for sign if para dito ka ba o sa Pinas ok ka na... Basta lang mga pare at mare, dapat po you have enough experience before ka pumunta dito. Thanks for this pare. Actually am planning na to go there and sumugal din ng pera kong naitabi. My company is in a limbo right now and its realy hard for me to start over again with a low salary. Second, am planning to get married na next year and masisira yung budget ko if push comes to shove. Am thinking na magsugal ng pera pagpunta dun at maghanap ng work so that i can get myself on track. Its really painstaking to do this specially kung self supporting ka. I have so may friends in there from our company and they are having somewhat good there. Ang dami siguro mga 30 sila dun and puro visit visa's nga. Nageexit sa iran pag expired na visa. Ang hirap isipin pero Fortune favors the brave nga siguro. I hope lang na my Fate will lead me to somewhere i should be. I love this country but this country never loves us back. Di ko alam mangyayari but i hope it will come into my way. Quote Link to comment
tabouki
mga bro. swertihan lang talaga ang pagiging ofw esp sa middle east pero imho tho di pa ako nakapunta sa dubai may mga kilala ako dito seems much better coz more "open" than saudi. pwede alak but not in public, may simbahan. sabi nga nung baguhan ako, dapat medyo halang ang bituka mo pag mag-ofw ka. lakasan lang ng loob. pag minalas, naka-crate ka pag-uwi sa naia main problem - HOMESICK. yan ang binabayaran. HOMESICK vs. $ GO! * patubo na kayo ng bigote at balbas... type ng mga arabo ang pilipini...makinis sarap beso-beso hala lagoooot makipag-holding hands ka pero wag ka magpapa-akbay. wag ka sasama mag-isa, baka sa disyerto ka dalhin. pag may naghitch sa iyo SADIK WER IS GO? ingat, esp pag baguhan, pero most probably "taxi" service lang habol nun...private cars na ginagawang prang-taxi, fix rate. huwag mapapraning dami namang mga kabayan doon na mababait at pwede din namang kababayan mo magpahamak sa iyo... trust in yourself and in God. federicuger

k.rams2004
A Fairly accurate report of the conditions here in dubai. But all hopefuls should be also aware that the competetion has risen to the extent that i personaly know people who still cant find a good job even after 3-4 months. Quote Link to comment
Alucard
For people reading this thread, most infos are accurate I've been here for the past 2 years. Every year competition is getting tougher and tougher and sadly wages are getting lower and lower. Aside from work experience, lots a luck and determination ang kailangan if you want to survive as a visit visa here in dubai, lalu na ngayon na may ruling na that 2 exits nalang add to that kabayans who are below twenty five are no longer allowed to work. Anyway, share ko din sa inyo.....I sponsored my sister and my cousin to come here in dubai. They arrive here march 16, 2007. I guess both of them were quite lucky cause after a couple of weeks both of them landed jobs. My sister now works for RAKBank and my cousin works for al ansari exchange.(yun nga lang resign kagad, lumipat sa al quoz para maging DCS). Swertihan din talaga cause nun panahon ko, nag exit muna ko sa kish before I landed a job. Quote Link to comment

jmorta
Madali maghanap pag may experience n.

Bawat kanto merong kasalubong kang Pinoy (Nothing against our nationality). Sana matuhan ng ibang mga pinoy na Dubai is not the answer. Marami pang mga bansa na pwedeng puntahan para makatrabaho ng maayos. Quote Link to comment
dennis_m
actually the movie "dubai" has a part y many filipinos dream of landing a job in dubai.. the said movie depicts a different lives of the filipino pipol here!..alam nyo n ang cnsbi ko mga taga uae.. marami misconception ang mga nsa pinas bout the lives in dubai.. i also have nothin to those pipol hu want to come here on a visit visa to look for job, pero mahirap talaga..there are jobs...pero u will compete woth other nationalities n pumapayag s mababang sweldo..isa p, employers take advantage of pipol hu are on a visit visa..kahit n qualified k, babaratin k s sweldo kc nga ur on a visit visa!.. mataas din ang cost of living s dubai..lahat n lang ng presyo tumataas.. thou may mga positive things nman ang mga nag wowork d2 s dubai, d nman laha panget..kc d2, u can afford ung mga signature brands ng mga gamit..from aparels to perfume to dress to etc..as long as may work k...unlike s atin.. so in general, if u want to come here for work, mas maganda pag working visa n ang dala mo...para cgurado..pero kung adventurous kayo, pede n din ang vist visa...lol kidding aside, mas maganda pag working visa n ang dala mo..pede nman kayo mag p refer ng work s mga kakilala nyo d2.. hope this can help..
