I've recently been based sa coron palawan ...I was told you can go to calauit by boat pero matagal like more than ten hours...madali lang raw dumaong make paalam lang sa mga guard...and bring food sa hayop....or maybe dala bote fundador or tanduay.....i heard the animals dont get much to eat....wawa...in any case....thats traveling open sea...better travel walang subaste and important to find out when matining and tubig if its habagat of amihan.......in coron habagat mabait dagat.....calauit is OPEN SEA...and take precaution going there ....make sure the boats have lifevests....and bring water..fud ..etc...

Is it true that after Marcos lost power, the locals are allowed to hunt the animals?

Is it considered a national park?

As far as I know, some of the rare animals there were brought all the way from Africa. I just hope they can sustain and protect what they started.
