Assuming that aliens have never visited the earth, but do exist, it might just be that our means of communication are extremely primitive and outdated. Picture yourself sitting in a house (planet Earth) sending messages using a Morse code transmitter (modern communications technology). No matter how many messages you send and how long you keep sending messages, nobody would receive your message, and no body would answer. Maybe we are just undetectable to the aliens, and we will remain so until we find more advanced ways of communication.

Aliens may exist. But until we have concrete and non-debatable evidences that they exist, it is still safely to conclude that they don't exist. And if they don't exist, how they will contact us? The reasoning of us being primates to them that is why they are not contacting us, is B.S. Isn't that we are digging bones to learn more about our ancestors or those early living things? Nobody can hide the truth if it is out there...

The probability would be that they deemed us as stupid shallow beings. There is no other reasons why they can't. But i have read that they are attracted to our nuclear power and weapons - they often hover around areas where nuclear warheads are being kept.
