when staying in Laoag.....the best is still at Fort Ilocandia. This is rated De Luxe by the Department of Tourism. Rates however, are higher than at Isabel Suites since this is the premier hotel in the City.

If you simply want a place for mere humping.....try Texicano Hotel (a few blocks to the left from the Provincial Capitol). They also offer ST rates. But if you get a room on the second floor.....it has been reported that the floor and the bed creaks while you hump away and it your partner is a loud moaner, nearby occupants may also her every damn word she utters for you....he he he :boo:

I've also been Laoag last Holy Week; stayed overnight there before proceeding to Pagudpud. Long driving resulted in us reaching Laoag close to 9PM, so we were checking up a couple of hotels who offered a good rate for an overnight stay, check out noon next day.

We ended up at La Elliana Hotel, along Jose Rizal Street not too far from Aurora Park. We paid P1,000 for a room two beds - one double and one single. Very good deal for us, considering we stayed for almost 15 hours.

Next day on the way back to Manila we decided to check out Fort Ilocandia and we understood why it's one of the best places in Laoag. Operator is Jimei of HK, who also operates Fontana in Clark. It's rated as a class AAA resort by the Dept. of Tourism, so you can't go wrong there. But since it's rather expensive, you should really spend the whole day there to maximize.

I've been to Laoag recently. I strongly recommend trhat you stay in Isabel Suites. The place is clean, and rates are affordable.

Stayed for five nights in Ilocandia this Holy Week. Ang masasabi ko lang, mainit! Haha pero sobrang saya!

-Laoag-

Stayed at a friend's house, but based from the places we've seen during the trip Balay de Blas and Isabel Suites look best as they are located in the middle of the city. Kung maraming budget, go for Fort Ilocandia or Plaza del Norte

-Pagudpud-

Hannah's is way too pricey for a stay, lalo na nung pumunta kami kasi peak season and they charge double. Not recommended. Although maganda puntahan yung lugar for pictures and other stuff since nasa Blue Lagoon area sila. Homestays along Saud Beach are the way to go. Maraming iba-ibang klase naman, depending on your budget. May legit resorts din like Evangeline's or Polaris. The rule in Pagudpud is that if you're going there during peak seasons (January, Holy Week, Summer, December) make sure to make reservations. Ang dami naming nakita na pumunta dun without reservations at umalis silang luhaan kasi wala na talagang free accommodations. They had to stay in Laoag, and that's a 2 hour drive.

-Vigan-

Stayed at Casa Teofila Lodge, cheap at 350/night with A/C kaso medyo malayo sa city proper. Not recommended kung wala kayong dalang sasakyan. Lots of hotels naman in the city with fair rates, Villa Angela, Cordillera Inn, RF Aniceto Mansion, Granpa's Inn, among others. Itong mga ito along Calle Crisologo talaga.

For a first time solo traveler to Vigan, what do you guys suggest?

Im thinking 3d/2n, travel by bus fr manila. More into strolling and "accidental" discovery type sightseeing. Food trip, historical and art tours.

Raring to buy abel iloko blankets.

How much should I set aside? Thanks!
