I almost "kicked the bucket" in 2006 when I contracted encephalitis. I was unconscious for 4 days. Doctors told my family that there was only a very slim possibility of my survival. An EEG showed abnormal brain activity.

 

Anyway, at the brink of death, I hate to say that I never had an out of body experience. It was just like a deep sleep without any dreams. Time became irrelevant because after I woke up 4 days later I had no idea that I had been out so long. I was extremely confused when I woke up, wondering where I was (I was at Makati Med). I was shocked to hear that I was unconscious for 4 days. During that period there were absolutely no visions of a tunnel or a light (as reported by people who were in near-death experiences).

 

According to my doctors, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being dead, I was a nine.

i think astral projection and out of the body experience is two different things. for astral projection i think your consciousness is the one getting out of your body as for out of the body experience your soul is the one getting out of your body so kung naranasan mo ang out of the body experience habang natutulog ka your physical body would probably dead.

OOBE na ba yung you're having boring sex, and you feel lie you're drifting out of your body and hovering somewhere above the heaving and humping, and you're watching the act with a raised eyebrow?

 

i believe yan yung tinatawag na gising pero wala ang diwa, madalas mangyari saken yan sa klase ng physics at algebra dinadapuan na nga daw ako ng langaw sa eyeholes pero hindi ako nagrereact or pumipikit ang mata sabi saken ng mga kaklase ko.

When I was very sick I closed my eyes and started meditating. After a few minutes of concentration, I suddenly felt so light in a very dark environment. There was no sound at all. Then I felt that I was was floating.. it lasted for about 5 mins and when I realized that I was nearing the ceiling, I got scared so I open my eyes. And instantly, i literally felt that I fell on the bed. After that I felt a lot better. BTW I am no practitioner of yoga or other form of meditation.

seriously speaking, i always experienced astral body during my college years. i really dont want to do this but it just happens. there are things and moments that everytime i want to go back in my restless body, i always experienced fighting with demons or whatsoever creatures who wants to stay or rather enter my body...so hard to go back but despite of this there is always a savior that blocked the underworlds plans for my body...sleep.gif

for people who want an out of body experience via lucid dreaming, here's a quick guide that I found:

 

 

It involves waking up during the the night/morning (preferably after 4 - 5 hours of sleep, as your REM period gets longer and longer through out the night), and keeping completely still and keeping your eyes shut. This will trick your body into thinking you're still asleep and be able to enter the dream that appears, becoming lucid!

 

Step 1: If you remember your dreams most nights, then you can skip this step. This is simple to work on. When you awaken from a dream or as you wake up in general. Try not to move too much and try keeping your eyes closed (if you fail to do this, it's ok). Now, try and think of the dream you were just having, it may take a minuet or two to start to remember anything. Once you remember, think of as much as you can. You can write it in a book or an dreams app (I use an app called Dreamer). You should practice this until you can at least remember 1 dream per night.

 

Step 2: If you can't wake up without moving and keeping your eyes closed, then you can simply use mantras. I repeat these before bedtime and as I wake up to go to the toilet during the night. ''I remain still when I awaken'', ''I keep still when I awaken'' I say this out loud or in my head for about 5 mins or so.

 

Another way is to download a program called ''Think Right Now''. Once you download it, make a new entry and write your mantras in there. This is used for a PC, and it will flash your mantras on your screen very quickly,every 3 - 5 seconds, so your subconscious will remember. Very powerful program.

 

You can use an alarm to wake you up, but make sure it's not too loud that it shock you awake. Also make sure the alarm will shut itself off within 5 or so seconds. iPhone users can use the calendar to set reminders. The alarms only last 5 or so seconds which is perfect. Setting intervals to go off every 30 mins later in the morning is great, so you can practice/achieve them often.

 

If you happen to roll over, move a bit or open your eyes, it can still be done. It just makes it harder to achieve.

 

Step 3: Congratulations! You've now learnt how to stay still after your dream. So after you leave your dream, and you find yourself lying there with your eyes closed, motionless, remembering to DEILD. You'll want to think of the dream you were just having. You can think of a new scenario you'd like but this is more difficult because the brain will have to kind of "create" everything, if you will. And it'll most likely wake you up. You can also think of a previous dream if you can't recall your last one. Or you can just wait for a dream to appear. So as I was saying, think of your dream, I want you to focus on every aspect of it. What can you see, hear, taste, smell, feel? Let the dream engulf you, don't try to hard, just let it happen, it WILL happen.

another thing to note, if you have a vivid dream and you want to check if you're dreaming, find a clock and note the time, wait a few seconds and check the time again, if it changes drastically i.e. first check was 1:30, and the next check is 5:45 then you're in a dream. You can also try to read anything (i.e. a newspaper, a sign, a book etc.) if you can't read it, or if what you read doesn't make sense, then you're in a dream.

Seriously, did you read about this stuff or are these actual experiences you've encountered before?

I read about it and tried it but could never get the hang of it. Because whenever the experience in the dream got too intense like flying I'd be so happy that I wake up and can't get it back.

I've never been able to continue a dream where I left off. After I wake up from a really nice dream, I always try to go back to sleep hoping to somehow get back the dream.

In OBE, technically you are dead right? Since the soul is out of the body? So during OBE, you can actually be fooled to believe you're dead especially if you have no idea what OBE is and what just happened right? While those who happen to be around your physical body will notice that something's off like all signs of being somewhat dead (cold, no pulse, no movement, etc.). Can someone who has no idea about OBE be able to perform it unknowingly?

 

You are not dead. Why? Because your soul/spirit is still connected to your body via a glowing thread/tube which will

stay connected while your on OBE. This is why it would be hard for other spirits to enter your body because they will

have to severe that connection 1st.

 

I read about it in this book written by "LOBSANG RAMPA". Try to look for that book and read it. It will definitely help

in your quest to do OBE.

It's a dizzy feeling of sort when I saw myself flying. I don't know if it's common, but I couldn't see if I was tethered or not? Could have been lost, they said, but I don't know how true that is since I was out of body for 2 minutes before getting up. Haven't astral projected since, but will try it again when I have the courage to do so again?

I was on a plane. It was night and we were crossing the Atlantic ocean from Europe to NY before I transit to my final destination. Anyways, the guy next to me falls asleep, shakes, n I don't think much of it. I figure I'd put my book away and go to sleep too. I wake up n the guy next to me is awake. Lights are out in the cabin, , everyone is asleep. I see he's got a book on his little table. I ask him if what he's reading is any good. Let me remind u, that the cabin is dark except for our lights. Pitch black out the windows. He looks over at me. He's a black male, not big at all, but he was bald. He stares at me and asks if I know about astral protection our out of body experiences. I say to myself, f#&k.., I got goosebumps. I told hom to explain further. He says he tries to astral project constantly, as it's something he is interested in. He says right before you go into a half sleep, you begin to shake. I told him that I saw him and even felt him shake through his seat. He said that he flew out of his body and could see around us. He saw that I had a book on my table, which is now in my bag. I said yeah, how did you know, I had already put it away though. That dude freaked me out on that flight. When he was explaining to me about out of body experiences I had goosebumps the whole time and he was staring right in my eyes as he was saying it haha..scary ass flight. Anyways it was an eye opener to this topic. He recommended me a few books to read which I did nd still continue to read to this day.

i have tried this. yung first time ko natakot ako kaya bumalik agad ako sa katawan ko. kase natakot ako na baka di nko makabali. then nag research ako kung pano. then sinubukan po pa ng dalawang beses, naghanap pa nga ako ng proof na nag aastral travel nga ako by looking for some dates or works sa mga resibo sa taas ng Ref namin. then pag gising ko binabalikan ko yung mga resibong yun. at tama nga nkasulat. after 3 tries di ko na inulit. sabi kse sa mga nabasa ko na ingat din kse baka may ibang pumasok sa katawan ko pag wala ako.

That glowing thread/tube you're saying is the silver lining. That's the soul's guide back to its vessel.
