Traffic Problem In Metro Manila (Merged Thread)

Recommended Posts

Good Day Guys,

I was caught in heavy traffic last night going to office near Mall Of Asia due to the ongoing Pyro-technics display competition. Later on tonight there will be another one so refrain from going to this area.

Every saturday night around 12 midnight, refrain from crossing sucat highway in front of AirForce1 because it's El Shaddai's day.

I think the 3rd Sunday of January is Feast of Sto. Niño, so Imelda Ave which is the road connecting to Sucat Road will be close as well. Please take alternate routes.

Wednesday is Baclaran day.

Friday is Quiapo Day.

Guys, can you give up-to-date info that you know to warn other motorists and commuters of places that will have dispruptions in traffic.

mmda has resumed repairs along the stretch of edsa

they'll do the repairs on weekends (friday nights-saturdays) so if you're going to go out on those days you should take note.

affected areas are pasay near tramo, gma/kamuning, and cubao

there's one more location but i just can't remember. oh well.

hitomi, could u specify kung northbound or southbound? i came from monumento, drove along edsa unitl crame last nyt.. didnt encounter traffic at all.. that was around 7-730 pm..

Roadworks along EDSA usually start on Friday evening and are done by Sunday night or Monday morning. If you are observant enough, you would notice white paint stripes along "lubaks". Those are the specific areas where repairs will be done over the weekend or the next weekend, or the next, or the next...

For me kahit saan traffic jammed. I am more particular with the time. pag mga 4-8pm ay rush hour yan... bring several packs of cigs or mags or cds even para ma entertain ka while weaving through traffic.

In the morning naman, pag mga 7 am ay... ibang usapan na yan pedal to the metal na para nde abutan ng traffic jam. That's why i usually leave home 6am para wala talaga traffic jam. from house to work its only 20-30mins. Wala pang highblood or altapresyon un.

Surprisingly though, Sat mornings are an exception. Kahit way beyond 7am na ok pa rin traffic.

well..

going to work via commonwealth avoid this place when naabutan ka ng 6 am for sure start na ng traffic hanngang 8:30. take sauyo road. don't pass through kalayaan because ipit ka sa mga service and mga naghahatid going to UP

on weekends nagigipit ako sa EDSA on cubao-ortigas road southbound during mornings because of road repairs. to avoid cubao road sa erod ang daan or deretso na lang ng quiapo then ikot buendia via roxas

well, kahit sa ka naman magpunta traffic e.

But here are some areas to avoid:

1. Lacson Avenue from 5:30 onwards.

Reason: There are lots of trucks passing by this area because its the gateway going to NLEX.

2: Osmeña Hi-way - May times na traffic, may times na hindi.

Reason: Same as the reason above.

3: Sucat Road(Dr. A. Santos Avenue)

Do I have to elaborate? You can be caught in traffic anytime of the day in this area. Period.

good for you sir

anyway, this is what i got off another site:

Motorists are advised to avoid these areas on Sunday: the north and southbound lanes of the North Road Rail Station near the North Avenue Depot; the northbound lane after the GMA-Kamuning flyover in Quezon City; Santolan near Gate 4 of Camp Aguinaldo, and the southbound lane of Edsa-Taft in Pasay City.

pinakamasarap and pinakamagandang place to be caught in traffic is at boni avenue northbound right besides the Ricoa chocolate factory.

the smell of chocolate is intoxicating :boo:

Guys and gals, na-alala ko lang nung pumunta ako sa Sydney sa mga suburbs nila wala silang mga Stoplight?! They don't have congestion kasi tuloy tuloy ang flow ng traffic. They call it "round-about" yata not sure.

Traffic rerouting

MOTORISTS headed for Mandaluyong tomorrow are advised to take alternative routes as traffic is expected to be heavy due to various activities scheduled on the city’s 62nd anniversary. The celebration will affect vehicular flow on Maysilo Circle, Kalentong and Shaw Boulevard from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., traffic officials said. Vehicles coming from Pasig and bound for Manila and San Juan should take Shaw Boulevard or Ortigas Avenue northbound, straight toward Edsa. Those coming from Manila going to Pasig may take F. Manalo Street, turn right on Kalentong Street, then on Shaw Blvd. through Edsa, to Pasig eastbound. Makati-bound vehicles coming from San Juan or Manila should take Haig Street, turn left on Shaw Boulevard, then right on Edsa southbound through Makati, or take Ortigas Ave., then right to Edsa.
