Used to be with Citibank for more than 20yrs then they start charging me annual fees.

Yes, Metrobank M card ang tawag. Kahit di ko ginagamit nag send pa din sila ng panibagong card, good for emergency use. Wala nga lang reward points.

just cancel.  then they will call to offer it to you again. that is what i did to my metrobank

It depends naman kung ano purpose mo sa CC. I never intended to use my cc for "utang" kundi convenient lang kasi I can go to mall w/o cash. and almost lahat gnagamit ko CC ultimo mcdo drive thru. habol ko kasi yung points and "credit_score" good credit score is good for future plans like house loan, car loan etc. easily approved kasi good credit score mo sa CC. naalala ko umabot 60k pts ko for 5 years so gnamit ko siya pambayad sa mga bills ko.

hmmm. weird. siguro like other people say depende cguro sa purchase capacity ng holder. ako kc 10 yrs + na ako sa citi never ako nag bayad ng annual. they to attempt to charge me pro cnsaib ko lang "pwede kausapin bisor mo papa cut ko na card ko, good payer ako tapos ccharge nyo ako" - it always work

not sure. pro madami na CC walang annual.

i think they are more cautious to give credit now due to the pandemic. but as long as you have an account with a bank you can ask them for a credit card

madali lang. yung 2 branch manager ng bpi pati security bank nililigawan ako kumuha. CC / housing loan / personal loan/ health insurance etc.

ilang beses pa ako tinawagan. 

depende rin ata sa credit history ni client.

haha. they have an idea on your income or assets before they will extend credit na now.

Credit cards usually have rewards points which accumulates every time you use it. 

Wen the month comes for annual fees, I simply call the hotline to waive the fees and I offer to give up some points for it.

Request them to waive your annual fee. If they cannot allow it, then they'll suggest alternatives so you don't have to pay for it or charge it to your reward points. Sample is you have to use your credit card  for 3K to 5K on your next billing cycle.

They used to entertain that request if transactions average 20k monthly.  But I don't think they still do that.

But you have to beg the bank manager for it.  They would probably entertain that request if you have millions in the bank.

They still do that at BDO.

CC is convenient, but you must be financially literate to control your purchases. 

In theory if pay all the balance before each billing cycle, no interest you will incur.
